## Toast Reviews
  ### 1. Easy Tableside Payments That Just Work but a host of issues that remain unaddressed after a year

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Micah T. | Vice President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I like the fact that it accepts payments at the table

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

1) Servers should be able to change a seat number without requiring "Edit Sent Items" access.
2) User access should be determined by the job code you are clocked in for that day, not the one in your profile with the highest permissions.
3)Should be able to send an item with a different dining option with one press rather than changing the dining option for the whole check having to go back and forth.
4)Toast GO3's Register Swipe Card only works on the handhelds or the terminals but not both at the same time. The 2's it works correctly.
5) Need a next seat button on the handhelds, so you can you can move to next seat without having to scroll through.
6) Toast Tables needs floor chart templates that you can preconfigure with how many servers are working that night 8 server chart, 9 server chart, and then you just add the names to the stations, rather than creating from scratch every single shift.
7) Need the ability to resubmit a declined payment the following day. This is important when there are outages and you accept cards offline. If it declines, you should be able to run it again a day later or more if they have funds in their account at a future date, otherwise you lose out on the money.
8) Printed Shift Review needs to have some sort of indicator to signify which tips were entered manually by the server as opposed to those added directly by a guest using the handheld. Otherwise how will we know which tips to verify when the server checks out at the end of the night?
9) Need the ability to print a chit of the item descriptino from the POS. This is super helpful for drink recipes at the bar.
10) Need ability to print a GC balance query chit to give a guest showing their card has been loaded and what the balance is.
11) Once you satisfy the required modifiers for an item it should kick you back to the main screen so you can quickly move on to the next items without having to press "Done" after every single item that has modifiers.
12) Need to have lower tip suggestions for takeout terminal customer facing display. Minimums for serving and takeout are in different worlds. Should not be the same. It's kind of insulting for a takeout guest to see 20% as a suggestion. It's actually embarassing. Please fix this one.
13) Ability to Print a break chit when employee clocks out for break, so they know what time to come back after 30min. Currently only clock in chit prints.
14) When a team member clocks out, we should have the ability to have them respond to a question, for instance, "were you afforded all of your legally required breaks today...yes or no..." and so forth
15) If we 86 an item in the middle of the shift, we should be able to add a shift note and it would show up to servers next time they open their handheld sort of like the notifications they receive about parties who have paid with QR code and online orders coming through.
16) In Menu managing, the "Visible to" should have the option to build Online ordering specific mod groups that don't show to the in house team, I.e. toss with dressing or dressing on side forced mod. Currently, there doesn't appear to be an option something only visible online without it being forced to show on POS in store as well.
17) It would be nice to be able to adjust columns widths on advanced properties view, expand and truncate. Currently it truncates just about everything except for the ridiculously long item number (20 digits?). This number should indent to the right and truncate the leading prefix and all of those zeroes. But then give the ability to widen the columns for the name of the item or other fields.
18) When you press "Special Request", a field pops up with a cursor to begin typing a message, but the keyboard isn't visible until you press on the open field. Keyboard should pop up automatically to keep the flow going on order entry
19) Voiding items returns the item to stock, creating a vicious cycle. There should be an option when creating void reasons in the settings to return the item to stock or not. If we void an 86'd item, it returns a 1 count to the stock, and a server can then ring that item in again. And then we void that item, and it returns to stock, and then a server rings another one in, and we void that item...and on and on it goes.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps with payments at table

  ### 2. Quick Promo Setup, 24/7 Support, and Easy Reporting with Toast

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I like that I can set up promos quickly, and I can also get help fast through my CSM or the Toast Support Center, which is available 24 hours. Toast also has an AI program that lets me ask it anything, along with support articles that make setup and learning really easy. On top of that, Toast makes it simple for me to track guest orders, pull reports, and do more as needed.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I feel like communicating with Toast support can be tricky. You often get transferred between different representatives, and it can be difficult to get an immediate answer or the right help depending on the issue. Additionally, we’ve noticed there are some tools and glitches that need updating and could still be improved.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast makes it easy to track guest orders, which helps me issue refunds when needed and communicate clearly with both guests and store managers. I can also set up store promos quickly and without much hassle, and then track those promos along with the related data whenever I need it. On top of that, the software integrates well with GRUBBRR, so we’re able to track kiosk orders too.

  ### 3. Solid with Great Integration, Needs Better Flexibility

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris F. | Restaurant Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I find Toast's integration with third-party ordering systems valuable. The handheld feature is easy for servers to use for taking guest orders. We use DoorDash along with Toast, and the menu and photos integrate nicely.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

The system is incapable of using if-then-else logic, so setting conditional rules for menu items is not easy. The discount system for combos is overly complicated and often doesn't provide expected results. The multi-restaurant package isn't ready for prime time, with many limitations, particularly with menu pricing and item routing. Toast support takes an exceptionally long time to resolve issues and there are several settings we as users don't have access to.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Toast integrates well with third-party ordering systems like DoorDash, making it easier for servers to take orders. It also pulls daily reports to help calculate labor tips and inventory. We also employ Toast Tables, Toast Catering & Events, and Toast Loyalty which integrate neatly.

  ### 4. Effortless Shift Management with Timely Reminders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Que T. | Cook, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I like how Toast helps me organize my hours and tells me my total hours, which is really beneficial for managing my shifts. I also appreciate how it reminds me when my shift is coming up, reducing the chances of being late. The initial setup was easy, which was a plus.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

how they sometimes don't send notifications

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast for organizing my hours and checking total hours, helping me avoid being late with shift reminders.

  ### 5. Intuitive POS with Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaitlyn H. | IT/ Business Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I really like the ease of use of Toast. I find it efficient, especially when diving into larger scale reporting. It's helpful for understanding what menus and items are selling best, as well as tracking sales and payment trends. The modifications feature is also nice, particularly for adding modifiers on the bar and ice cream sides. Setting it up was very easy, and maintaining it is super easy too, once the initial setup is done.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

There are some reports that just don't have the scalability I need. I think it would be better with more flexibility on the features you can sort by and report by. While it does have a lot of reporting options, I feel like for the wide scale of information, it could be improved on the reporting side.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast for pulling reports, sales metrics, daily and monthly sales summaries, managing menus, and integrating with online delivery platforms. It's easy to use and efficient, especially for large-scale reporting and tracking sales and payment trends.

  ### 6. Streamlined Restaurant Operations with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob Z. | VIP Retention Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I really like how easy it is to use the handheld device for the POS with Toast. The ticketing system is also very prompt and specific, which is a big plus. It minimizes the use of paper and ink, which is great. The system is very intuitive for both customers and workers alike. It was also super easy to set up, I'd give it a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it. I also love that receipts can be emailed, printed, or texted to the customer.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I think it could be just slightly better with regards to keeping tabs as well as keeping individual receipts.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Toast to simplify tracking customer tabs and bills, managing tables, and viewing sales performance. It's easier to use, implement, and submit orders directly from tables, improving efficiency. The device is intuitive for workers and customers, and reduces paper usage.

  ### 7. Comprehensive all in one cloud based Restaurant POS System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shihan S. | Program Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Toast?**

What I like best about Toast POS is its restaurant-specific all-in-one platform. It’s built purpose-fully for front-of-house and back-of-house operations—so you can take orders, process payments (including tap & contactless), manage online and in-restaurant flows, update the menu in real time, and track data from one unified system.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

It is highly dependent on internet connectivity and proprietary hardware. If your Wi-Fi or network goes down, or if you’re in a remote location (like a villa café in the misty mountains), operations might be hindered.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast solves the problem of managing multiple restaurant systems by bringing everything—POS, online ordering, payments, inventory, and reporting—into one integrated platform. It streamlines order processing between servers and the kitchen, reducing errors and improving speed of service. For me, this means smoother operations, real-time visibility into sales and performance, and easier management of menu updates and customer transactions—all from a single dashboard.

  ### 8. Convenient and User-Friendly Tool, But Needs Better Document Organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** alex c. | Receptionist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I used Toast as a hostess and found it really convenient to use. It allowed employees to access everything seamlessly, which stood out to me. I appreciated how easy and accessible the app was; it was very user-friendly. Logging in and navigating it was super easy. I'd recommend Toast a 10 because every time I go to a restaurant and see they use Toast, I get happy.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

I think what could work better is understanding how to get tax documents, they seemed a little scattered.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toast is convenient and allows employees to access everything seamlessly.

  ### 9. Great Integrations, but Crippling Fees and Atrocious Customer Service

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim M. | owner/chef, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

its great for integrations and its very data driven. End of year data and bar graphs are extremely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

customer service is autrocious and the software fees are crippling

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none their customer service is abismal

  ### 10. Toast Streamlines Restaurant Operations with Powerful All-in-One Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose P. | QC Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Toast?**

I appreciate how Toast streamlines operations for businesses in the food service industry. It offers a comprehensive suite of tools designed to manage various aspects of a restaurant's day-to-day activities. The integrated system simplifies order taking, payment processing, and even inventory management. Furthermore, it provides valuable insights through reporting features, allowing for better decision-making. Overall, its focus on enhancing efficiency and customer experience is a significant benefit.

**What do you dislike about Toast?**

Toast’s hardware is reliable, but you can’t mix and match with cheaper third‑party options. If something breaks or you want to expand, you’re buying Toast‑branded gear at Toast‑branded prices.

**What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Disconnected front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house, and online systems
Restaurants often juggle separate tools for POS, online ordering, kitchen routing, payroll, and reporting. Toast unifies these into one connected platform so orders flow cleanly from server → kitchen → payment → reporting.
