Recently I have required the ability to add a solid rich text editor to an in-house Human Resource Management system for a mid-sized company that I work for as a software engineer. We required to be able to send out company-wide announcements, style up performance reviews, update shift administration notes, etc. without understanding a single point of HTML. This situation ultimately proved to be an ideal fit for TinyMCE.One thing I like about TinyMCE the best is getting it up and running in our current stack with minimal effort. Tons and tons of documentation – enough so that I didn't spend days trying to determine how to set it. To a degree, I figured I could tailor the toolbar to the necessities, removing a lot of the options that cluttered up their screens for our HR professionals' ease of use. Also generates some incredibly clean HTML without requiring much work. Others, commonly, whenever we are supplying text raw output to our knowledge base, I only don't have to bother with weird inline styles or even broken tags knowing that they can mess up back-end display of our application. Alternatively, the editor might feel a bit fat and bloated, if you're not careful to configure. Placing all you can find plugins can slow loading times quite significantly however. Also, the original free version is awesome, but a few of the more in-demand additional features such as the advanced tables, or the premium spell checker, can cost a bit heavily for a mid-sized company. There are also a few cases that I still receive of MS Word users pasting in high-textured, complex tables that are then scrambled in the editor and the user must go back and fix any formatting inside of MS Word.
