**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

What I like most about TestGorilla is the ease of use of the program and how dynamic and fun it can be for both the user and the employer. It is very practical to set up the tests, which offer various options, including sending video questions and adapting and evaluating the tests with AI. The diversity of tests, including language and technical tests, is quite useful for our needs, especially for positions like junior engineers. The ease of use and the dynamism with which it is presented make it very attractive. I think it is one of the best platforms on the market.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

There are few things I would say could be improved currently, such as expanding the new 'jobport' functionality beyond remote jobs and locations. Another improvement would be to allow for larger or longer tests, if necessary, for certain positions.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestGorilla helps us have a less biased candidate selection and conduct automated tests to assess skills such as communication and problem-solving. It facilitates a more objective evaluation of candidates in the initial phase of the process.

Here is what I like the most about Testgorilla:
1. For a newbie like me, Testgorilla provided enough sample questionnaires to get me started
2. The questionnaires come with their set of carefully structured questions to get me the result that I am looking for - makes my work so much easier as I don't have to go around googling
3. It's an absolutely easy platform to use
4. It had all the assessments that I was looking for - FYI I am into recruitment so behavioural assessment was my major focus

I actually didn't find anything to dislike at TestGorilla honestly.

Even for a new user like me, it was an absolute delight to use it and I did not face any issue :)

I am trying to bring in Psychometric tests into our existing hiring module - so we can determine any unwanted qualities in a candidate.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

I've really loved the product itself. I think it's brilliant. It's been so user-friendly for us; the interface is so simple to navigate. The team is amazing too. I haven't interacted with a single person who wasn't great to chat to. They've all been super helpful and amazing. I was able to onboard onto TestGorilla easily even in the trial stage, and I already felt like an expert. The people made the product as well, and they're knowledgeable about it, answering all of my questions and making onboarding really seamless. The automatic scoring saves us a huge chunk of time, and knowing that the candidates haven't relied on AI is incredible and so needed in today's landscape. It's just one less tool to worry about learning.

Test Gorilla has been a game-changer for our hiring process. The platform's intuitive interface makes it incredibly easy to set up and administer assessments, saving us valuable time. The variety of available tests caters to a wide range of skills, allowing us to assess candidates comprehensively. Their customer service is responsive and always ready to assist, ensuring we get the most out of the platform. The detailed reports and insights provided help us make data-driven decisions, ultimately leading to better hires. However, we've requested different assessments over time, and those haven't been added to the test bank, so, we haven't really received a ton of support in that area. 

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

While I'm thoroughly satisfied with Test Gorilla, there’s always room for growth. I'd love to see more customization features that allow for even greater tailoring to our specific needs. Additionally, expanding the test library to include more specialized tools, such as Adobe After Effects, and Premiere Pro would be a fantastic enhancement. I feel like many other companies, they're pushing their AI tech into things nobody is really asking for. Nonetheless, these are minor wishes compared to the overall value the platform brings.

Test Gorilla has been instrumental in helping us efficiently evaluate candidates' English proficiency, ensuring that language barriers are minimized from the start. **What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

The service has a vast variety of tests that can be compiled into insightful test assessments that can be sent to potential candidates. best to use when you have no time for manual analysis of candidates. Not they have new tests, a little better interface and I like it. Will continue to use the service.

I don't like the pricing policy, the fact that free tests can be done only inside the company emails, and the range of free tests available is very little. I would like to see more free tests.
Test crashing sometimes and no option to fix it for the candidate. It doesn’t happen often but it happens.

technical skills problem, especially when building a small team and there is not tech lead yet who can test manually each candidate for their skills. That save as some time and can make us do the assessment faster.

A lot of the tests are based on US or UK. Where in Australia, it would be good to have some Australian based tests

I love the fact that we can create a test for a role and the anti-cheating software is perfect. With TestGorilla, we have been able to catch cheaters and remove them from the process, which has saved us a lot of time in the future. The initial setup was extremely fast and simple. I would rate TestGorilla as a 10 out of 10, a brilliant tool.

I also like the quality and relevance of the test content, which feels well aligned with real job requirements. The platform provides clear candidate insights and scoring, making comparisons straightforward.

It would be helpful to have greater visibility into the candidate experience during the test. For example, being able to monitor test progress in real time or having optional screen recording (with candidate consent) could increase transparency and confidence in the assessment process. If such features already exist, clearer guidance or support on how to access them would be appreciated.

I would recommend giving it a try because it is a perfect tool for recruiters and supervisors.

With Test Gorilla, I save a lot of time because I’m currently working as a consultant, and every second for me is money. I don’t need to spend hours applying tests to my candidates; with just one click, I can send the test, and once completed by the candidates, I just need to verify the results.

What I like best about TestGorilla is how practical and job-relevant the assessments are. The platform goes beyond generic testing and allows you to combine cognitive ability, role-specific skills, and behavioural traits in one streamlined assessment. It’s easy to use from both a recruiter and candidate perspective, and the results are presented clearly, making it simple to compare candidates objectively and reduce bias early in the hiring process.

While TestGorilla is very effective overall, some of the assessments can feel a bit generic for highly specialised or senior roles, and there is limited flexibility to deeply customise questions. Additionally, candidates unfamiliar with online assessments may sometimes find the experience slightly intimidating, which can affect performance even if they have strong real-world skills.

TestGorilla solves the problem of time-consuming and subjective early-stage screening. Instead of relying solely on CVs, it allows me to assess skills, cognitive ability, and job-fit upfront, which significantly improves the quality of shortlisted candidates. One of the new things I appreciate about TestGorilla is how straightforward and user-friendly the platform is. Everything is well organized, which makes the experience smooth and efficient. On top of that, TestGorilla focuses on the essentials and delivers exactly what I need without unnecessary complexity. At the moment, our organization does not use TestGorilla as a primary hiring tool. Instead, it serves as complementary support for a psychologist who manages her recruitment process through a different platform. While TestGorilla provides valuable features, the pricing can be relatively high for infrequent use. For that reason, it would be helpful to have more flexible or usage-based options that better align with our needs.

This is one of the most frustrating SaaS experiences I’ve had in years.

TestGorilla presents itself as a transparent, customer-friendly product, but the reality is very different. The pricing and checkout flow are deeply misleading. What looks and feels like a monthly subscription turns out to be a locked-in annual contract, split into monthly charges — a distinction that is not clearly or responsibly communicated to users.

Once you realize this and try to cancel, you hit a wall.

Refunds are not an option AS A COMPANY POLICY. They literally force you to use their product(which rarely used as you'd like). 

I’ve since discovered I’m far from alone — many users online report the exact same issue: sudden surprise in billing, trying to cancel, and being refused outright.

If you’re considering TestGorilla:

*Read every line of the checkout very carefully**
* Assume there is no flexibility, no goodwill, and no customer advocacy
* Understand that once they have your card, you’re locked in — whether you use the product or not

There are plenty of alternatives in this space. I strongly recommend choosing a company that values transparency, ethics, and long-term trust over aggressive billing tactics.

This experience alone is enough to make sure I never recommend this product — and actively warn others against it.

I like that TestGorilla enables skills based hiring which removes any biases and identifies the best candidates. TestGorilla is data-driven and user interface is good and easy to use. I also appreciate that it's continually evolving and improving.

The tests are good. The UX UI are also good and easy to use. Reports are helpful.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

We used TestGorilla as a small startup to hire one key role. While the tool worked, the subscription model was frustrating. We thought we signed up for a monthly plan, but only afterward learned it was a locked 12-month contract, something not clearly shown at checkout.

After finishing our hire, we asked for fair options (cancellation with penalty or reduced term) but were only offered a rigid 3-month pause. For a platform that markets itself as startup-friendly, this felt misaligned. We sent them over 20 emails begging for cancellation. Still paying 1 year now.

We respect the need for policies, but clearer communication and more flexible solutions would make a big difference for startups like ours.

Gives you great insights into whether or not a candidate could be a good fit. Otherwise it is very easy to use and has a lot of great features that i would recommend for any company that wants to hire and implement as part of their hiring strategy. I use it with every hire.

I can't afford the paid tests, and its not always clear what is paid or not when initially selected.

Its important to review the personalities of the people that we are working with and ensure that we do not have to bridge a communications learning gap before hiring them. it also lets us know their strengths and whether those are aligned to the roles that we have envisioned for them.

What I like about the platform is that it's user friendly for both recruiters and candidates. It offers a wide range of pre-employment tests, including:
- Technical skills
- Cognitive skills
- Personality assessment
The platform promotes unbiased hiring decisions by focusing on skills and abilities rather than just a resume itself.
Although I haven't fully tested the entire platform, something else I also find interesting is features like webcam snapshots and IP address logging. I also like how it helps maintain exam integrity.

What I do not like about TestGorilla:
1. In the areas of pricing, I feel pricing can be lenient for small companies.
2. You can create custom questions, but some users feel that certain test modules (particularly for coding) could have much more realistic or advanced options.
3. Some users might find that the platform has limited integrations with specific applicant tracking systems (ATS) or other recruitment tools they use.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before I started using TestGorilla, one of our biggest challenges was the time and effort required to screen a large volume of resumes. We were struggling to objectively assess the key skills of candidates, which led us to hire wrong fits for the jobs we are hiring for. TestGorilla has actually solved this by providing a pre screening platform. We can now use skill-based assessments to quickly identify and filter candidates who have the core competencies for the role.

It worsened when I couldn't log in anymore, and the system auto-renewed my yearly subscription. I had to reach out via email to ask for cancellation, and they said they can't cancel the account. Even after that, I still don't have login access. They failed to understand the main issue and provide solutions. I suggest adding a cancellation option in the account management section instead of requiring email cancellations and giving customers what they paid for.

TestGorilla is incredibly user-friendly and intuitive. I was able to set up and run assessments within minutes—no tutorials or walkthroughs needed. The clean interface made navigation seamless. One standout feature is the ability to send the assessments to myself first—this allowed me to experience the test as a candidate would, which was hugely helpful. Reviewing completed assessments was just as simple; I could quickly jump into individual profiles and see detailed results, including resumes submitted through the Jobs beta page. For a free tool, it delivers a highly professional and polished experience which is really great for us as start up.

Also dealing with the customer support team has been a breeze - quick with info and feedback!

There isn’t much to dislike, especially considering the value of the free version. That said, the Jobs feature is still in beta but I'd love the ability to edit job posts after creation. **What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

TestGorilla is super user friendly and and comprehensive. I appreciate the AI support it offers to automatch certain assessments to role types. I also enjoy how many assessments it offers and how easy it is to see who has completed or started certain assessments.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I didn't find anything I disliked about TestGorilla. It is on the pricier side, but the ease of implementing it and our ability to tap into their numerous assessments makes it seem worthwhile the price tag.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestGorilla allows us to easily assess candidates for hard and soft skills.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

User friendly, seems very updated on the technology side.  The sales reps were not pushy.  There wasn't a long learning curve.  Very customizable to what we need internally.  Certain tests are very challenging which is good for letting us grade on a curve.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Sometimes a bit tricky to tell is someone is cheating.  Some people are very clever.  The more we used the software the more we could see anomalies that alluded to cheating.  They recently updated this and provided more detail which has become very helpful.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screening candidates ahead of the initial interview.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

While I have only used TestGorilla as an applicant, I like that it gives a reasonably fair assessment of my skills and abilities. The platform is easy to use and has a lot of tests for a wide range of skill sets.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

I do not like that my camera has to be on while I take an assessment when my screen usage and microphone are already being monitored. Feels like the ultimate invasion of privacy.

I use TestGorilla to apply for jobs and sometimes complete skill assessments for personal appraisals.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

It is quite good for assisting skills based on individual measures. It's super easy to use and can be implemented in no time. It has some the best features just like the proctored exam types. It can easily integrate with our platform workable.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

The primary thing would be cost, which will be quite a lot for a small business. Assesment time should be customisable.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to ensure that before we phone screen any candidates, we wanted to see their technical skills so as soon as someone applies to our advertised position due to the integration with workable it automatically send the assessment and then we can review, and phone screen based on the results. This saves significant amount of our time.

**What do you like best about TestGorilla?**

Ease of using website. Features that are anti-cheating. Has many assessments to choose from. Can make your own assessment. Good score measuring metrics. Easy to implement into recruitment.

**What do you dislike about TestGorilla?**

Free assessments are irrelevant to our hiring. Tests can be way too much time for job applicants. Paid plans are only monthly or annual, no payment plans for per-use basis.

**What problems is TestGorilla solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having assessments for soft skills such as attention to details. Additionally, being able to review and give feedback for the assessments is great for job seekers and shows that TestGorilla (TG) is always looking to improve. Another aspect is showing who made the test and their credentials. Anti-cheating and disability features are also very good and I like that users of the free plan can use them.
