As an HR ops lead supporting clients across Ontario and Alberta, the consistent call quality across remote, low-internet regions is my top highlight. Even candidates connecting from rural Alberta or busy manufacturing floors rarely face lag or dropped sessions. I can tailor encrypted interview recording retention periods to align with PIPEDA, so we never hold applicants’ sensitive video data longer than legally required. The SDK slots neatly into our internal HR portal, combining one-on-one interviews, screen sharing and group onboarding under one solution. Auto noise suppression and background blur clean up unprofessional background distractions without extra plugins, creating polished candidate experiences. Breakout rooms work flawlessly for group hiring panels and new hire workshops, and full session access logs track every record view or download, cutting hours of manual work during privacy audits. The biggest pain point is the lack of native connections to popular Canadian HRIS platforms. We have to manually export all interview recordings and session logs as CSVs to upload into our candidate tracking system, creating repetitive admin overhead. There are no pre-built PIPEDA compliance templates for data storage and retention; every project requires us to manually adjust privacy settings. The admin dashboard’s reporting functionality is very bare-bones, with no built-in filters to separate logs between our Ontario and Alberta client branches, slowing cross-region compliance reviews. There’s also no ready-made consent popup for video recording, meaning we build custom consent workflows from scratch each time. English documentation covering Canada-specific data residency rules is minimal, and support wait times spike heavily during our fall and spring peak hiring cycles.
