What is Most Helpful About TaxDome?

The most helpful thing about TaxDome is how it centralises my entire practice into one cohesive ecosystem. Instead of forcing me into a rigid, one-size-fits-all framework, it gives me the absolute flexibility to tailor pipelines and workflows to suit my specific business model.

It takes the guesswork out of capacity planning. I can effortlessly allocate jobs to my team and see exactly where we are at with deadlines in real time.

The Upsides of Using TaxDome

What do you dislike about TaxDome?

What Do I Dislike About TaxDome?

The biggest drawback from a personal point of view is the disparity between the operating systems, specifically regarding the Mac and Xero integration. While the Windows integration is fantastic and provides the exact security we need when saving files directly into TaxDome, this seamless functionality is unfortunately missing on Mac. This limitation has meant we have had to invest in additional hardware just to ensure our clients' information remains secure.

The Downsides of Using TaxDome

Lacking Mac Support: The advanced drive integration that Windows users enjoy is not available for Mac, forcing firms running on Apple hardware to find workarounds or invest in separate equipment.

Basic Xero Integration: The connection with Xero could be much deeper and more seamless to better support accounting firms that rely heavily on the Xero ecosystem.

Steep Learning Curve: Because the platform is so incredibly customisable, setting up the initial pipelines and automation takes a significant amount of time and effort to get right. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem I used to find was communication. I have such a varied selection of clients, with lots of them not working from home. They don’t all have access to a computer or email during the day, but we all know how to text in this day and age. TaxDome solves this perfectly by letting us communicate directly and securely through the app, meaning I get responses in minutes rather than chasing unanswered emails for weeks.

Another major problem solved is the hassle and security risk of sending over files. With the TaxDome app, clients can even upload bank statements directly from their banking app. This means nothing is downloaded onto unsecured personal devices, which massively improves our security and operational efficiency.

It also solves the constant headache of chasing clients for information. The system automatically nudges them for missing files or signatures, completely eliminating manual follow-ups. Finally, it solves "app fatigue" and team blindspots; having one single source of truth keeps my team aligned, automates task allocation, and prevents critical project deadlines from slipping through the cracks.
