Tana’s Supertag system is honestly what hooked me. I can tag something as a meeting or a project and it basically organizes itself, with the right fields and connections, without me having to build databases upfront. It feels like the tool adapts to how I think instead of forcing me into a rigid structure.
The knowledge graph underneath is quietly powerful. Since everything can link to everything, when I search for something I get context I didn’t even realize I needed. The live searches that update automatically have replaced most of my manual organizing.
The AI also seems to understand the structure of my notes, not just the raw text. Running AI commands on properly tagged content gives me much better results than any generic AI assistant I’ve tried. And having meeting transcription built in, with action items auto-extracted, means I stopped paying for a separate meeting tool entirely.
For what you get at $10/month, it’s hard to beat: meeting capture, AI assistance, and a genuinely smart workspace all in one place.
There is a learning curve, I won’t lie, but the Slack community is really helpful. Once things click, the time savings start compounding fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve hit me harder than I expected. Supertags are powerful once you understand them, but that first week felt like I was mostly configuring the tool instead of actually using it. There isn’t much of a gentle onboarding experience you more or less have to piece things together through YouTube videos and community posts.
The mobile app is pretty disappointing, honestly. It’s fine for quick voice notes, but anything beyond that feels clunky and awkward. If you like capturing ideas on the go, you’ll probably feel limited.
Also, the AI credits run out faster than you’d think. I ended up rationing my queries toward the end of the month, which kind of defeats the purpose of having AI baked into everything.
Finally, the two-product split (Tana vs Tana Outliner) is confusing. I almost signed up for the wrong one, and I really think they should make that distinction clearer upfront. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
