  ### 1. Comprehensive, Intuitive, and a True Game-Changer for ResLife Operations!

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

StarRez is comprehensive in it's features, abilities, and support. The designers and support team clearly immerse themselves in ResLife and work hard to ensure the software meets the needs of our field. The pricing can be overwhelming, especially for budget-strapped and smaller institutions, but it's worth every penny. Additionally, what they offer at the base level cost is still a service and operational game-changer. As a user for about 8 years, the interface is intuitive & logical for administrators and simple for end-users. The integrations I've been a part of are mostly seamless and allows data-sharing across campus, which ultimately leads to a better student experience. Most of my years using StarRez have shown fast and reliable performance, but I have had some experiences where performance is slow due to heavy use of the software. I would recommend StarRez to any housing professional looking to improve their operations and/or the student experience!

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

The learning curve is steep. Most "ResLifers" have little to no technical experience, and while I do think StarRez does what's possible to make it less overwhelming, to unlock all the features and benefits of the platform requires dedicated time and staff, which ResLife is often short on to begin with. Additionally, the cost is sometimes prohibitive, but that's more a reflection of budgets than the fairness in pricing.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Departmental brand-building, fast & consistent messaging, revenue generation, data analysis, workflow efficiency...you name the housing problem, StarRez is consistent in addressing it.

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

StarRez has drastically redefined how staff interact and provide the highest level of a residential administrative experience to students. It greatly reduces staff time on routine processes and procedures as well as provides timely and accurate data to decision makers across your campus.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

I do not like being referred to a knowledge base article when I contact customer support. I want to speak/chat with someone who can provide me a higher level of support.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is streamlining our occupancy management processes, as well as providing clear and accurate billing and revenue generating data. In addition, it allows us to provide real-time occupancy data to our decision makers in a time when enrollment and occupancy are crucial.

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

I appreciate the wide range of automated and pre-configured options available within the StarRez modules. I also value how StarRez genuinely listens to its customers' needs and preferences, consistently releasing updates, changes, and new features for its modules and programs. It is clear that this company is committed to listening, learning, innovating, and adapting to meet the needs of both its customers and the students they support.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

The main drawback of StarRez is its price, especially when compared to other products available on the market. However, you do get what you pay for, and if enhancing your customer and student experience is essential, you'll likely find a way to justify the cost.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to offer our students a modern portal experience when they complete their housing applications and other forms. The majority of our processes are either automated or structured in a way that is effective for all staff members, regardless of the internal or external groups we collaborate with.

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

StarRez has excellent customer service staff.  They respond quickly and provide a variety of resources for problem solving.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

The only drawback to StarRez is the price. This is a premium product at a premium price.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StarRez is actively working on rolling out new AI insights.  This is making my work more efficient.

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

I love how this allows me to handle the 10-15,000 people that come through our campus in the summer.  I can be sure to have all of the beds needed for any given week.  The company is very supportive and able to help me with what I need.  There are wonderful features, and I use it very often.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

They are still building out some new modules, so there are some features are lacking for our specific business case, but it sounds like a lot of them are in the pipeline.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to handle the housing for all of our summer guests

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

StarRez is super customizable and you can truly build a product that works best for your organization. The support team is always on standby and ready to help, and I love the community of other users. There is a massive facebook group where you can post any problem and within hours have ideas and things to try from other users who are in the software daily.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

Some of the accounting tools are not really where we need them to be as a P3; while we have found ways to make it work, we've definitely had to find unique workarounds for things that you can tell the system wasn't originally built to do.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to have all of our resident information in one place instead of spread out over various systems, spreadsheets, etc. The system supports pretty much every facet of our housing operation from pre-arrival all the way through checkout, whether the student is here for the entire academic year or just staying for a week over the Summer. Best of all, it integrates with our dining system, access system, and pretty much every other system we could think of. The support team is always listening and working on improving the software and it genuinely has made my life so much easier as a housing professional.

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

Everything is made very user friendly and there is a lot of thought that goes into product releases when it comes to how users will experience the software. The team takes feedback and genuinely works to implement solutions to help their users get the most of their experiences. If technical help is needed, they are friendly and eager to help find a solution. We use this software basically all day during the week to manage our housing program and all of our large staff is very comfortable and proficient with little training needed. We have been able to easily integrate our use of StarRez with other aspects of our operation including building access and providing information to campus partners. Every new product integration has been easy and done with wonderful staff involvement. This is my favorite business partnership.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

Sometimes it takes a bit of time for feedback or suggestions to get researched or implemented, but they are careful to be sure they are releasing a good and well tested product first.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage about 5000 beds and StarRez helps us not only manage those beds, but also help to work with our students/guests in a way that makes their experience easier.

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

I've been so impressed with the professionalism, support, and care from every one in the Star Rez team. Everyone in this company is drawn from the Student Affairs world and understands my challenges, constraints, and needs. Star Rez makes my problems their own and always works to help me find a fast, efficient, and excellent solution. It's accessible to me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help me respond to a student community that never sleeps.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

Nothing. There's so much that can be done with the platform and the ability to provide increased customization is a constant an on-going process. Releases are like Christmas and we all can't wait for Christmas morning.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Star Rez has helped provide me with a digital platform to connect with my students and empower them to manage their housing choices, room changes, and interface with the services my office offers.

**What do you like best about StarRez?**

One of the most unique characteristics about using this product is the customization. StarRez is incredibly supportive and encourages their clients to make the most of their product, allowing them to find the best solution for their institutional needs.

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

The overall nature of vast customization can also be a con. When purchasing a new feature or add-on sometimes the setup can be a bit daunting. However, StarRez’s professional services are there for assistance and the customer support is excellent.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data collection, room booking and room management, and student portal are integral to our daily processes.

Platform that encompasses all your housing needs, many different possibilities with the platform, specific sections to your organization

**What do you dislike about StarRez?**

At times the system can be difficult to understand, as there are so many options for how to work the program.  It can also take some time to train others with the software.

**What problems is StarRez solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StarRez is very useful when allocating and monitoring housing.  A benefit of the platform is that you can handle housing via the platform alone not requiring outside input.
