## Squarespace Reviews
  ### 1. Modern, easy to use Website development site!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan S. | Insurance Agent / Assistant Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This is our second website builder we have used, and this site is super modern and easy to use. The ability to change items takes seconds, and looks amazing as well.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I have not come across anything that I dislike about this site at all. It is great to use and simple to learn.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Give it a try and see what all the great features are about! You will not be disappointed.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are in the insurance industry and can't be in the office at all hours, so our website allows us to give our clients the knowledge for anything they may need while we are out of the office.

  ### 2. Aesthetic and straightforward but not very flexible design-wise

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny M. | Freelance Tech Content Writer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This is the "high-fashion" version of WordPress and Wix. All the themes are clear, aesthetic, and like filling in blank spaces with your own words. If you're clueless in all things design, Squarespace takes your hand and leads you through creating your website without veering too far off from the theme.

You can change style colours, fonts, and add all sorts of paid add-ons if you're building an e-commerce site. I like the analytics page and the SEO page where you can add keywords you want to be found for. It's also very easy to integrate your own domain even if you got it elsewhere like GoDaddy or WordPress. If you don't have a domain, Squarespace lets you create one "free" with your paid plan.

There is an image editor built in so you can add filters, crop it, and other basic editing functions.

There is a trial version you can use, but you can't publish your website until you pay for a subscription.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

You can't copy and paste a section, you have to re-do the entire section all over again. The predetermined widgets are also very rigid and you can't really customize them unless you know HTML/CSS.

Not being able to change the color of button text or change text color for individual places is definitely a limitation. I also don't see how to add alt text to images.

The price is rather high in comparison to other platforms.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you want something clean, modern, and hard to get wrong, this will do nicely.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Professional website for my business. Looks very clean and modern.

  ### 3. A great platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace allows you to have so much control over design and is extremely easy to use. We are able to follow all of our brand guidelines with ease and can continue to edit whenever needed. We love our website with Squarespace!

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It was hard to think of something I disliked. Sometimes at times, it can be hard to work with galleries, but other than that I truly love the platform for website hosting.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I definitely recommend Squarespace because of how easy to use it is. It truly allows you to have a visually appealing website, while following all brand guidelines and by providing clean templates for all necessary information.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace hosts our company's website. We have all of our necessary info. The benefits of using Squarespace is that you can easily stay true to brand and follow all brand guidelines. Anyone can use it.

  ### 4. Squarespace: Not for Us!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is a very minimalistic content management system, based in NYC. Their data centers would have been ideal for us, as well as their elegant designs. Squarespace is liquid, which would have been great for us. We would have liked to keep using the easy adaptable editor that Squarespace provided to edit the site.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Unfortunately, Squarespace did not meet our needs in terms of price and flexibility. Squarespace did not let us export the site, and required a minimum payment of $12/mo, just for hosting. Squarespace did not let us use a custom domain either, and the design was not perfect, either. Plus, email transfers using MX records were too complicated, and there was no obvious option for implimenting A records to use external domains.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you are using Squarespace, you must understand that Squarespace is very limiting in terms of its connectivity and adaptability. You must buy and use everything within Squarespace (domain, hosting, emails) as this would be ideal for best accessibility.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We would have solved many problems if Squarespace adapted to our needs. We were simply not able to transfer our domain to Squarespace, as Squarespace really wanted us to do. Squarespace should exist as a content management system inside GoDaddy; this could have been very helpful. The reason why Squarespace is so expensive is probably because they continue to try to exist alone; they should combine with a partner or become open source (free), or possibly both.

  ### 5. Square space

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morganne M. | Director of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that there’s an app that connects so
That you can sell at trade shows and what not

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I don’t like the way the websites that they have are set up

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Use Shopify. Or wix or woocommerce instead

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using it as a website and that’s going to be changed because it looks awful

  ### 6. Squarespace

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The UI: simple designs
User friendly: navigating, setting-up, adding content, designing, editing, exploring
Customer support: fast response, step-by-step help

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Designs were limited (template), wasn't easy to integrate previous design with squarespace, kinda of pricey, some options didn't integrate well

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to integrate different APIs were really hard and sometimes confusing. Benefits were really fast launch turn around time

  ### 7. Great way to Produce Web Content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad M. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Having no training with web development it's overwhelming, but this web based design platform is easy for almost anyone to use.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Takes some time to learn but once you get going is easier.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Easy to use once you begin the process of learning.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Producing an updatable website that looks awesome.

  ### 8. Easy and Intuitive Web Design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love that it makes customizability easy

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Customer support is very lacking. Often times my team is redirected to manuals and documents rather than actual solutions over the phone.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have created a beautiful and informative website that has been a huge part of our growth and increased digital presence.

  ### 9. Wonderful user-friendly interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I needed to complete a total overhaul of our company's previous website. The one we had was outdated and not interactive with the users visiting our site. Squarespace made the process not only easy, but enjoyable as well.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

That not all options are available in editing within the style editor. There need to be more than a few fonts available for use. Luckily, with custom css you can make more fonts throughout the website available, but Squarespace needs to allow more than the basic h1, h2, and h3.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Utilize squarespace plugins from outside sources. It is very easy to do so within the squarespace interface without ruining what the site already offers.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Update and modernizing our website while simultaneously monitoring our SEO and making sure we are easily accessible by those searching for our type of work within our region.

  ### 10. Simplicity and Ease For the Small Businessperson

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel J. | Director Of Photography, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I have always appreciated squarespace's user interface and quality of design templates. Squarespace has always been a cut above other website building platforms to me because of the constant updating, and variety of complex and cutting edge websites ready to be customized.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The price is still significantly higher than some other platforms. While I have stayed with squarespace for years, the price has always been a point of disappointment. I also wish it was easier to embed video content into backgrounds across multiple templates, and the mobile previews and mobile design crossover were better integrated.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace beats out other web building solutions, in my opinion. Squarespace can give you a wealth of exciting options to carry your business' web presence. As i stated before, I am in love with the new templates. The integration of video injection and moving content has sent them over the top for me. The integration of analytics and some cursory web traffic features is exciting and helpful. All in all, I think it's a smart choice for any small business looking to truly have an attractive website.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My business needs a website. Squarespace makes it easy for a novice web designer to build a visually pleasing place to showcase art, work, and portfolio items in a flattering and modern style. With a good eye and few hours to learn all the bells and whistles anyone can make a beautiful website in a matter of hours.

  ### 11. Beautiful platform to build a simple website.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love their templates and their resource center. I've used Squarespace for years, and I love how simple it is to build a really beautiful website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There are some limitations with customization, so occasionally custom coding is required.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We get compliments all the time on how easy our websites are to use and how beautiful they are.

  ### 12. Great website builder for launching or expanding your online store or small business.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

When it comes to a one-stop shop for creating a website for a business this is it. Anything from analytics, easy-to-edit templates and website organization. Also, their customer service is outstanding. Anytime I have an issue - the company is always there to help.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

My only dislike for Squarespace is their pricing. Compared to competitors they're simply more expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Contact Squarespace before signing up for their services. Third party software/apps might not be compatible.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace helps our business grow through easy-to-use software. Squarespace has all their features built-in.

  ### 13. Wonderfully user-friendly website builder!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lia R. | Research Assistant at YorkU Human Pain Mechanisms Lab, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

My favourite thing about Squarespace is the versatility - if you don't have a lot of coding experience, you can still create a basic website. However, if you have the knowledge, it still allows you to inject your own code so you can add some more advanced things to your website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I completely understand why this is the case, but I would say that something I dislike is the support staff's rule that they never even try to help you with a problem if it remotely involves any code that you wrote yourself.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Squarespace for the past three years to run my tutoring business. It has allowed me to showcase everything about my business as well as allow students to book with tutors right online!

  ### 14. Recent switch to Squarespace

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah F. | Ministry Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

We recently switched to Squarespace. I am not the main administrator, but I do create pages, forms, edit the calendar, edit pages, etc. I like that it is so easy to use and intuitive, which allows someone like me who can not write code, to still edit and create pages on our website. I like that it allows moving images on the banner we have on our front page, which makes it more aesthetically pleasing and allows us to keep things up to date. There are many features that allow our people to interact with the website itself.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I do wish the calendar feature allowed events to not merely be copied but span a time frame, for example, a recurring event that happens once a week for 12 weeks. It is tedious to have to copy each event. I also wish the website itself was more customizable, although it does serve its purpose for most of our needs. It would be nice to have graphics that can be highlighted or clicked on that allow more text to appear/open in a new window. Perhaps this exists and i am unaware or we have a more basic package.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace works great for our organization and is a big upgrade from what we used before and many other websites I see out there. It is relatively customizable and allows us to make it unique to our organization and carry our "DNA" even into our webpage. It allows our people to interact with us through content we add on the webpage for them or them to reach out to us.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Squarespace as the main website for our organization, which is a church. People can go on to listen to sermons, check our calendar, view our online bulletin, view small group questions, view what is going on, click a link that direct them to sign up for events, studies, etc. and take notes on the sermon and have it emailed to them. We like that it allows people to interact with it and do so much,

  ### 15. Marginal Customer Service

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lydia W. | Co-Owner, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Simple setup for novice website building. Lots of theme options. Attractive platforms.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Customer service usually offers a quick response, but more often than not just throwing links at you, even if the answer might be as simple as a yes or no. Quite a bit pricier than other options and SSL's are not included with hosting like some other hosting sites offer. Even if your content is just informational secure sites are preferred on Google searches and rank higher than non secured sites, so SSL is important. Also, themes can be inflexible and the learning curve is equal to just learning WordPress yourself. Once you do that, there are a huge amount of plugins to help you achieve almost anything you want.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Square Space was an okay temporary stop gap for me, but between being overpriced and inflexible not something I cared to cope with for very long. Other sites offer WAY more help and don't just bury you with links to FAQ's that may or may not help.

  ### 16. Looks Great Minimal Effort

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian B. | Composer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

My website looked great right out of the box. I've made some tweaks, but I'm very happy with the ease of setup.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish it were easier to tweak the site myself. There are limited opportunities for code blocks or design changes.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm publicizing my music via the web using the Squarespace platform.

  ### 17. Great for simple website design

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is great for very simply websites with basic and clean designs because it's easy to use and easy to maintain.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The process of moving existing content blocks to different locations on your page is frustrating because the control is oversensitive and it often changes the layout of your page when simply trying to move a into a new position within the current layout.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a website for our Church that is easy for visitors and members alike to navigate.

  ### 18. Square Space is a great option for churches

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel A. | Youth Pastor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

My favorite part of using square space was its professional server speeds and yet affordable pricing options for churches needing a website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

While still being very usable to someone without coding experience, it does not have the user-friendly capabilities the Wix does.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a great opportunity for churches to present their organization professionally to their community by allowing them the opportunity to build a quality site without outsourcing someone.

  ### 19. Squarespace is good for starting out, but...

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon L. | Owner/Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

You will quickly outgrow it, especially if you are more than a one man business or hobbyist. It's easy and not too bad if you need something quick that looks great (the designs are fantastic) but customization is minimal and I noticed growing out of it, even for hobby clients, very quickly.

It is fantastic for a quick website especially with little to no experience and the templates are all beautifully designed.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Not as much customization as we think could be available (with an advanced button?) I know there is a reason for all of this with Squarespace and for that, I think they do a great job.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Great for beginners and a quick site to whip up!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have helped others get a quick website up that they can edit themselves when they are building a hobby or startup biz on a shoestring budget.

  ### 20. Best Website Builder Around

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaron K. | Sales/Marketing Manager, Chemicals, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace does an excellent job of keeping things simple without them becoming simplistic. Kudos also to all the extras that make our lives as developers easier!

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Wish there was a little more flexibility in some of the page content features as well as some added support for code changes.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Try and you'll see what all the fuss is about...

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace has been a HUGE part of our growing firm. We are very grateful : )

  ### 21. Fantastic platform for a polished web presence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edmond L. | Senior Operations Specialist, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The assortment of designs and ease of use help me get the look of a beautiful site without hours of work or the need to hire a designer. The interface to change the design/layout is effortless to navigate. Squarespace also updates their templates on a regular basis so you can keep your page looking fresh and on point with the current trends.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I don't have anything negative to say about Squarespace. I've been using them for about four years and don't see an end in sight. I guess the ability to generate contracts and invoices through my site, instead of just selling fix-priced items, would be nice. But that isn't a deal breaker for me by a long shot. I'm sure that would just increase the cost to use it, which I wouldn't like.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Make sure you check around for a promo code. Squarespace is a sponsor of the Podcast Comedy Bang Bang so they usually offer a promo code for new customers.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm creating an online presence to showcase my work and providing information on contacting me as well as my rates.

  ### 22. Love Squarespace!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love how user friendly Squarespace's design layouts are. I've designed two websites using Squarespace and it has never been easier!

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

At first, it took some getting used to in order to change the templates. For examples, site titles are often always ALL Caps. It took me a google search in order to figure out how to change that. However, once you know where everything is, it becomes a breeze.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to create stunning websites using Squarespace. This was a lot more complicated before.

  ### 23. Anyone can master website design with Squarespace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron N. | Associate Director of University Communications for Social Media, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The ease of use of Square is the best. As someone in a marketing and communications field, saying anyone can master design is nothing something I take lightly. Squarespace makes design easy so the world has many more interesting and visually pleasing websites– GeoCities this is not! It's important to come to Squarespace account with content in-hand. You'll likely be impressed by all of their templates and would like to have your site completed as soon as possible. Squarespace isn't a replacement for nice content, come in knowing what you want to convey and use your account to achieve that goal.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

When formatting text, Squarespace can occasionally have some issues in the user interface, it is difficult but not impossible to mirror formatting across the site. Calendar functions could use some help and some reservation options would be nice to build out options. We use our site as a source for current members and prospective members for a rowing organization, having expanded integration would help us segment our users.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

There isn't much else out there to be a one-stop-shop for website building, hosting and even commerce. Try it.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transitioned a rowing website from a lack-luster Wordpress template to Squarespace so people would actually use the site. We needed to combine a news site, blog, calendar and boat reservation system. Squarespace allowed us to bring what we needed into one central location. Our site (toledorowing.org) is nice and shiny.

  ### 24. Such an easy and stylish website

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This is the easiest site to use to make a website! The templates are fantastic and the functionality is great! All the sites are reactive so the look great on mobile devices too

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Some video cells are not available on mobile but the sites work well.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Give it a try. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We made our website so much more functional and attractive with squarespace.

  ### 25. Easy, clean, and beautiful interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Square space makes website building a breeze. The interface is easy to customize and it all looks clean and nice!

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Sometimes you can customize one template and get halfway through before realizing another one was better, so you have to restart.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Highly recommended for its ease of use and doesn’t require a high level of technical skill

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building my website.

  ### 26. Squarespace is a great entry level website building tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darrel S. | Digital Media Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like the low barrier of entry of squarespace. Anyone can setup and build a site without much help.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I dislike some of the CSS tools and troubleshooting can be difficult.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We built and manage a few websites using Squarespace.

  ### 27. Very pretty - very easily

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The ease of use! It is so easy to make a website on Square Space that is consistently pretty throughout. Love it. I've never made my own site until now and it didn't take long for me to get the hang of it.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It hasn't got a lot of ecommerce subscription-based functions at the moment which is quite a pity as subscription ecommerce businesses are booming at the moment.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Great, even for e-commerce. However, they need to do some catching up for subscription-based e-commerce stores.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to affordably have my own pretty website that I know how to edit because I build it from the ground up.

  ### 28. Very simple and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liana A. | Acupuncturist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The navigation is very easy from multiple different types of devices. Also very easy for customers to use

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

If I had to pick anything to dislike it would be that they have a slightly higher percentage that gets taken for each transaction

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

sign up under a friend and get the free period were they don't take out a percentage and it also helps them out as well. Also, the bigger card insert device is very nice and looks more professional. I would recommend it if you are going to be using it often.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dealing with confusing and slow software for billing. We are now able to take cards instead of being cash only

  ### 29. Squarespace is an incredible tool for anyone needing a new website design!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like how simple it is to use! It is easy to go back in to your web design and make new information and design changes! It gives you instructions on how to change your design and is simple enough for someone that doesn't have any experience in web design!

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

When I was changing and updating my program's website I didn't have many issues or anything i disliked. I have not done much website design in the past, so I do not have much to compare to in this area!

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you are looking for an easy way to design a website use Squarespace! It has everything you could need or want in a website designer.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am trying to make a clear and visually pleasing website for the program I work for! They have different templates that can help simplify your website! This helped me a lot to make it look more clean.

  ### 30. Awful customer service

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The platform has good usability in terms of designing and editing the website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Abysmal customer service: There is only one way to ask for help which is to complete an online help request. After a while you receive an email which I have discovered does not address your question or resolve your problem.

I have spent hours and hours trying to get answers I need and have had no luck to date. Absolutely terrible customer service. Avoid like the plague.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I like Squarespace's usability on its platform (CMS) but I find its customer service for any help needed terrible.

The only way to contact Squarespace for help is via its online messaging service, after which there is a lengthy wait of up to a couple of days, after which the answer you get is unhelpful and doesn't solve your problem.

It is absolutely driving me nuts and to be honest I wish I had never set my website on Squarespace because of it.

I want to move the web files to another web host. God knows how long that will take to arrange if I ever manage it.

I recommend going with good old Wordpress or Shopify until Squarespace has sorted out its customer service :-(

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. I want to move to another platform and web host as soon as I can.

  ### 31. SquareSpace is the best for those looking for an inexpensive website

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard E. | Senior Marketing Consultant, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The best feature of Squarespace is the fact that anyone, even those without any web development experience whatsoever. 20 years ago, it was very considered a very desirable skill to be able to create a website. However, these days, the expected quality is much higher, and a high quality service such as Squarespace makes this possible.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

While Squarespace offers a lot of options for growth, the only problem with the service is that it can quickly become expensive if you depend on their merchant system and build your entire business off of their service. I would say the service is better for businesses looking to make a simple and clean site, not a fully fledged e-commerce experience

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

As long as you don't intend to build a marketplace using Squarespace, it is the way to go.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace is what we used to primarily design our website for Harding Software. It has made the process dramatically easier, with the most notable benefit being that we did not have to hire a web developer to create a website. We avoided the issue of high costs by not hosting any of our transaction features on the website.

  ### 32. Great Software to Create Beautiful Websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline D. | Lead Interior Designer, Architecture & Planning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace really takes care of all options for you. You can create your own domain, your own email, and an ad free website all in one place, which was a huge plus for me. There are many different layouts to choose from that are able to serve various different needs and services. The analytics are awesome and really help me understand what people are interacting with on my website. They even offer a google adwords credit for signing up! I think this is the best platform for creating your own website, making it look professional, and avoiding paying someone thousands of dollars to do it for you.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It is fairly difficult to customize within certain layouts, and the process is clunky, with having to go to a different 'design' tab to do so. The pricing is moderate but you get what you pay for!

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Watch all of the video tutorials!!!! Even watch a few before getting started. I consider myself fairly tech savvy but I had a lot of trouble trying to figure it out myself without help. Watch some videos first to avoid getting frustrated like I did!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped me create a beautiful website to help drive my business. 100% of my business so far has come from people online and interacting with my website.

  ### 33. Wonderful platform for all of you website needs!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anais C. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

There are thousands of themes that you can choose from and if you are not happy with any of them you can even create your own.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Nothing, so far I am very pleased with the quality and service I can receive using Squarespace and I love sitting down and playing with the features to learn more about the platform!

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Cost efficient.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Weebly previously and I just didn't feel like it was matching my needs and my audience's interest - Squarespace made it a really simple transition and I am happy with my results!

  ### 34. Good basic features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is fairly easy and quick to get up and running. If offers some great templates to work off of and help to expedite your website setup. I also love the integrated marketing and analytics they help you better reach your customers/audience and provide insight into how your website is being used.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Some of the design features are very basic and achieving specific layouts/designs can be hard to accomplish. Had some issues with SSL when initially deploying website and held up marketing outreach and email blasts until resolved, which took a bit of time.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Good for setting up basic but great looking websites

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting a frontend website designed and deployed quickly to start outreach to potential customers to help build business.

  ### 35. Helped us get new patients

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

How people could send in a request for an appointment without having to call.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Overall the program worked great for us don’t rewlky have a dislike for it.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to allow people to request an appointment with us and it gets sent to our email and then we contact them.

  ### 36. Very sleek, professional, easy to navigate, and convenient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2017

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love Squarespace. I used it to build my dad's website, and he's already gotten more business just a few months later from adding Contact Forms, a bio, descriptions of services, social media logos, etc. The themes are very professional, sleek and subtle.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Both the desktop and mobile options look great, but I wish I could more easily update the mobile version. It took me a while to figure out how to make the header bigger on the mobile version. The Squarespace analytics are also really helpful. With Weebly, you have to upgrade to get the analytics, and it's nice that it's already included.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I think Squarespace is the best website builder out there right now. I like it more than WordPress, Weebly, or Tumblr. It can be a little expensive, but it's worth it.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Squarespace to promote a small business, get more clients, develop a brand, and establish credibility. The most beneficial aspect right now has been the contact forms since a lot of clients reach out that way instead of calling or emailing.

  ### 37. Easy to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie K. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like the templates and also the block features. I don't have to think too hard to create a website that is simple and gets the job done. Like having forms that people can fill out. Like knowing that I can eventually put a scheduling system directly into my website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Sometimes the login for Squarespace's "logo" page doesn't recognize my email login that I just used to login to squarespace... it's buggy. I also hate the limited number of fonts for designing a logo, as well as for putting text over a photo on my website. I would like to have more choices of fonts. I believe that the photo editing system is also a bit outdated.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a wonderful feeling to have a functional website! It gives my product legitimacy and saves me time not needing to learn how to program.

  ### 38. The best of the big 3!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The easiest to use of the big 3 (Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress).

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I do wish there were more templates or at least more options within templates to customize.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace made it easy for me to grab a URL, design a site, and launch it without any headache!

  ### 39. Straight Forward and Complete Website Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Douglas C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

SquareSpace can be as simple or complex as the user wants to make it. It has a very straight forward graphical interface for layout design, but powerful analytical tools and customization abilities.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There are limited options for creating password protected parts of the website. In short, each page can be password protected but there is no ability to "stay logged in" across multiple pages or have customized logins for users.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use SquareSpace for our English and Spanish language websites, which has served as the primary point of contact for many of our clients.

  ### 40. Great tool for simple and easy websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara M. | Founder & Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It allows you to use modern templates that look customized for a very clean look on a low budget.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I don't have anything negative to say about this platform and has worked for what I needed it to do.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I don't have any recommendations because I used this platform for a quick easy fix for a beauty blog that is a spin off of my marketing agency.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it to create a beauty blog page and the benefits were I was able to set this up in a clean and modern way with little website background and low costs.

  ### 41. Best Website Builder for Photographers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

As a newly website-owning photographer, I sincerely have enjoyed building my platform with Squarespace. I love how quick it was to learn its nuts and bolts and build my beautiful website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish it were a little easier to drag and drop boxes on the builder platform - I've struggled with structure before and still do at times!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Squarespace to promote my photography and lifestyle blogging business and have created a landing page for my business. This ultimately has solved my issue of only residing on social sites such as Instagram, Facebook, etc. and has increased my audience tenfold!

  ### 42. Streamlined but simple

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Easy to drag and drop visually appealing content that showcases your brand in a modern and sophisticated way

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The squarespace template/style has become so universal that it is easy to tell when someone's used a packaged template

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

It's a great product for individuals or small companies that need basic features and capabilities. If you're interested in something more complex and hands-on, this is not the product for you.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace hosts our website and all content that is relevant to prospective clients and talent. It's easy to showcase content and case studies that highlight our main value propositions. It's also very easy to make changes as needed and in real time.

  ### 43. Squarespace is the best platform of its kind

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that Squarespace is responsible for the infrastructure of the website, and the user has the ability to customize the website to the user's needs.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is more expensive than some of its competitors, including Wordpress.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

It is slightly more expensive but tries to tailor the experience more for the user.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Squarespace to set up our start-up's website quickly and easily. Our initial website was launched quickly.

  ### 44. The Best Way to Make a Beautiful Website Quickly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I really like how you can make a stunning website quickly and easily with Squarespace. Their templates are modern, clean and elevates any business. Their drag and drop feature is great too.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish their was a library where you can store photos past or future that you would like to use. I also wish they had better plugins or bells and whistles to optimize content. I wish they had an undo button because when you are formatting and don't save something, you can mess up a section and can't get back to the original! The formatting is the hardest part sometimes.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I recommend you take the time to play with the features, read the tutorials and videos to save yourself time and so you can fully take advantage of their offerings.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace has provided me with an easy to build and good looking website. I also create websites for others so being able to sell this service for a client is great. People look at my Squarespace portfolio and it helps me get more business.

  ### 45. Introductory use of Squarespace

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The design features and templates have been really helpful for us as beginners to website design. I also have enjoyed the tutorial videos, which made it possible for me to get a great start on our website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish you could mix and match the features of different templates-- it's frustrating to compromise design for function.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're getting a lot of information on our demographics through Squarespace analytics. We make weekly changes to our website, and the editing process on Squarespace is seamless.

  ### 46. Making Web Design Simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faith B. | Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I appreciate that Squarespace makes web designing easy while still allowing more customization than other competitors, such as Wix and Weebly. My websites are created simply and look professional. I understand basic web coding (HTML/CSS), which is a definite bonus when using this service. However, I think it would be possible to create a Squarespace website with little to no experience or knowledge and have few problems if any. I've been using Squarespace for over 2 years, and I have never needed to reach out to customer support. Most questions I have can be answered quickly with a simple Google search.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It does still lack some customization once you choose a template. For example, I chose a template that had the header sometimes black and sometimes white. I couldn't choose to have a black version of the logo on white headers and white logos on black headers.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you're looking for a professional looking website with great functionality and minimal effort, Squarespace is a great choice. If you're desperate for extreme customization, an option like WordPress may be a better choice for you. Overall, Squarespace is a great option for any level of web experience and most any company or organization website.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to make updates and switch my entire website layout with great simplicity. In fact, I did a complete rebrand and website makeover in one weekend because of the simplicity of transfers through Squarespace.

  ### 47. Great for small businesses

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Easy to edit website without having to update plugins or worry about any of the back-end.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Limited for e-commerce compared to Shopify.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of keeping website updated and current without paying a designer for maintenance.

  ### 48. User-friendly and all-inclusive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love that Squarespace is so easy to use, even if you have minimal experience in website design.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish there were a few more customization options, specifically on the Events Calendar and on Blogs.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We post weekly messages and blogs on the site - something we haven't been able to do as easily with other website providers.

  ### 49. Here you can choose what suits you

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leanna W. | IT Consultant, Staffing and Recruiting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

A large number of beautiful and modern templates. There are many categories for creating a website: food, music, fashion, wedding, etc., you will definitely find something for yourself. Allows you to change the template without knowing the programming. The program interface is easy in its work. Customer service always works well. If there are questions they quickly and professionally answer on them.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I would like that the cost would be lower. Some customers need to change the functions and settings of having templates, but this can not be done. In my work on the program, I did not encounter any problems.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you need a beautiful and quality website then Squarespace will help you in this. The site that you create will appeal to all your visitors. Try it and you will understand that the Squarespace is really good.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the program to create sites to order. I do my job quickly and easily with Squarespace. Customers are satisfied, as it is easy enough to manage the site, and it works perfectly.

  ### 50. Great web builder for the price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is a great site building platform that allows for creative and clean web design. It's really great for people like myself who don't have experience with the more difficult back end coding languages and just want to make a site that is visually appealing and makes information easily accessible for users. Really liked the ability to view how the site would look from mobile when editing, since most of the users would be viewing from that perspective.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Some of the themes can be limiting at times, not allowing for choice in the areas you might really want to change. It can be easy to over play some of the features and lose sight of how to focus your content. Had some occasional issues with broken links but nothing that weren't quickly solved.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace allowed me to publish content in ways that were accessible to users and easily sharable to social platforms. The ability to create a professional looking site that belongs in 2018 and not 2001 can really make a business shine against their competitors.
