I appreciate that it’s streamlined and easy to navigate, and that customers seem familiar with—and trusting of—the invoices and interface. When I use it on my phone at markets, it runs smoothly, and customers are happy with it as well. I’m on the free plan, and I really appreciate having that option available. Of course, the per-transaction fees could always be lower.
I haven’t needed support or onboarding because it’s been so easy to use. I previously integrated it with my Etsy account when I had one, but I never really had the time to fully utilize that aspect, even though it seemed useful for inventory tracking. I also don’t use any of the AI features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When I’m at markets where a lot of other people are also using their phones, the app seems to run slower. I’m not sure whether that’s because of the Wi‑Fi/cell service in those areas or because there’s a concentrated amount of Square use happening nearby. The per-transaction fees could also be lower for micro businesses that are owned and operated by a single person.
I do appreciate the tap-to-pay option with newer phones and cards, but when I have to swipe a card through the reader, it takes at least four tries—if it works at all. I sometimes end up having to type the card in manually, which customers don’t love, and neither do I, because it adds time and extra monetary cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
