It’s a new system replacing an old system. We had the new technology is great and the customer support has been incredible.
Natala Dinoto has been incredibly helpful and extremely responsible has been to our establishment multiple times to aid our employees

The learning curve was a bit steep for our employees, but we had an incredible customer service agent in Natala that helped create a system we could use and answered all questions

Lucky our Local-Op was very helpful with our requests and concerns that we had call support but unable to fix it for us.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Customer support on call doesn't seem to have the same skill set as the local-op. Not to mention among customer support on the phone sometime gave out a different information that not necessary correct.

Lucky able to set up the screen layout and some back of the house that meet our needs

Spot on is so quick, there is almost never any load time when entering orders.

As a manager, there are several features that I wish were available with spot on, and have honestly surprised me that they arent available.

The speed that spot on operates makes entering in orders so much quicker, and therefore results in better service to our customers due to less time spent at the POS

There are times where the payment terminals have outages and are not able to use them to charge or they need to be restarted because they are not receiving signal from the POS

Any support or menu structure problem that we have. It allows for us to operate our business better and easier for the customer as well.

The customer support team is top notch! The system is easy to learn and navigate and there's sooo many different ways to track inventory, labor, sales, gains, and losses.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Adding in new discount "reasons" can be a bit tricky but the customer support team is always available and very helpful so to be honest there's nothing I haven't loved about this system so far!

It has helped me keep track of liquor and food much better than the previous system and helped me see where I'm losing product/sales

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

There is no feature that stands out as a "win" with this system.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

Spoton is a poorly architected and designed system with faulty hardware. It's really multiple individual applicaitions stitched together with an attempted single sign on that causes the user to have to bounce from one application to another in order to accomplish everyday actions. As well, functions are split across these applications and the physical in-store terminals meaning you can't do everything you need from one, the other, or both. The effect is a maddening inefficiency that adds to your daily work and frustration. As well, the hardware is buggy and freezes mid-shift although it's new, right out of the box. Spoton support isn't really support. It's set up as an answering service of sorts that, when you call, takes messages and creates tickets for follow up later. No immediate action. These support tickets somehow then get routed to multiple teams so you end up following up several times with different POCs. All in all, it's as if they've built a system to inject inefficiency into your operations. Just say no to this system unless you want out of date designs, runaway feature dev on top of multiple software systems, and hardware that freezed on you in the middle of service. All backed by disengaged, poorly organized customer support.

They actually create new problems, so not a benefit. More of a curse.

Krystle Simms who literally would work day and night to make sure I could navigate the BOH portal and update/ upload items.

No save button in BOH to know when I have completed and saved something.

Originally it was you normal working out the kinds b.s.   then trying to communicate with someone was almost immpossible. Now I have a go to laision with Kristin .it makes my life so much easier to have a direct email and number to communicate with the same person . Great job by spot on to listen to their customers and a BIG KUDOS TO KRISTIN for her excellent listening skills and her ability to resolve things. THANK YOU

Large batch deposits, lifting batch limits. Changing batch times to adjust to our late hours.

We love Lucky, his knowledge and friendliness is 10/10. He is the literal definition of above and beyond. Keep him as long as you can, because he is a gem!

So far, nothing yet. We need charging ports and that might be the fix we need.

The most important thing for me was to have the ability to integrate 3rd party.  We have accomplished that via Spot On

It did feel like our company was much more in the beta phase or growth with the Spot On.  It felt as if the transistion was going to be easy and we dealt with challenge.

We have had some opportunities, when the system goes down it goes down hard.  We have overtime become better trouble shooters.  Regarding Spot On Support it has improved.  The Enterprise support is an upgrade.

I love the local support that we have.  His name is Brandon.  We utilize him often as my team is always wondering if and how we are able to modify items. I like that spoton is very versatile in ways to ring things in.  I also like that it integrates with teamworks.  Very helpful for payroll. Brandon, our support point person is phenomenal. Very efficient, friendly and a pleasure to have around

Can't view sales reports from pos 
Credit cards have to be inserted multiple times to complete transactions and don't retain customer info to close out
Crash when it's busy

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

The software is honestly way more than I need as a counter-service restaurant, but with that,I know that I'll never have to look for a new POS system ever. SpotOn is the fourth POS system I have used and it is by far the best. There is a learning curve if you're used to more intuitive systems like Square, but once you see how versatile this software is, you'll never want to go back.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

There have been two areas where SpotOn could improve in my opinion. First is the invoicing software. Ideally, I'd be able to have a separate menu that I could use to build invoices. The current system is either all custom amounts, or a copy of an order placed in the POS. It's workable, but not as efficient as I'd like. The second is the speed of transactions. I have a food truck that uses a SpotOn handheld, and the speed that the handheld works isn't as quick as Square run on a good iPad. It's a difference of seconds, so it's only noticeable when you are in a rush, but that's also when you need that speed the most.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpotOn has helped me fully integrate my multi-faceted business under one Point of Sale. Now I have a fully functional restaurant POS that I can also run a food truck and a separate catering/events department from. It has brought all of my reporting under one roof, and I am hoping to integrate my marketing software and scheduling software into SpoOn within the next year. A side note: I have asked about integration with Spillover marketing software, and would like an update on the timeline for integration.

I appreciate that it is very user-friendly and operates smoothly; however, if I encounter any issues, there is always someone available to assist me immediately.
In particular, my account advisor, Ivan Monroy, is always available to assist me and resolve any issues.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

There are times when I make changes online, and it takes a little while for them to be reflected in my physical system, but it’s just a matter of time.

It helps me keep my business more organized and well-managed.

Being able to speak to an actual human when calling customer support. That spoton sent someone to prgram and spend the day with us when onboarding. That was must better then previous POS. Now having IT on island is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

When there is software glitches and pos downtime, which can happen quite frequently. Some more reporting options would be helpful specifically for tip pulling.

I'm doing less paperwork witht the customer signing the pos themselves. Its easy enough for me to update and add menu items myself.

Jason Kim has been a great support with all my questions about Spot On. There are many times we speak, and he has a solution immediately, and if he doesn't then, he researches so he can get me the best one later.

I love how readily available help is if we ever run into a problem. There haven't been many but everything is fixed accordingly and promptly. I also appreciate how user friendly everything is. From FOH to BOH operations.

I wish that we would be able to re-open a check that's been closed and take an item off and then reclose it without having to charge the customers CC again.

We had connectivity issues with past point of sale systems and with spot on we have minimal problems.

The hand helds devices, also the print out in both our back of house &n front of house, also the support team.( most of the time)

The system itself is confusing not user friendly, not intuitive, to much content that's not needed.

Great team and support when needed and for any feature requests.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

No direct in house delivery although they do work well with Captain AI as a dispatch platform. Also they are building out direct integrations with third party delivery platforms such as DoorDash and Uber.

Working on direct integration with third party delivery platforms such as DoorDash and Uber. Should help with order consistency from those platforms and saves us money because we won't have to pay for another integration service.

Spot on works well for a POS. We use them in our venue, pool hall and horse racing bar. If we ever have an issue our guy Michael comes by and solves it in no time. 
They also provide online training for every level of user in our system.

The only negative I have. Was not receiving Michael's information sooner from our GM.

Ghosts were in the machine. Thank goodness Michael exercized the double printing demons.

It's great how well all the systems integrate. From reservation software to POS & from POS to KDS. Our hosts have up to the minute, accurate wait times at the front door. Servers have a user friendly handheld or POS to deliver prompt and accurate orders.

Haven't had any issues. Our questions arc usually answered very quickly.

As a manager, this is the easiest system I've used in terms of making quick changes or updates. In a fast paced environment, having to restart the POS system to make a change in price or an addition could take 5 or more crucial minutes. It was almost as if the program creator had never worked in a restaurant before. With SpotOn, I log into the website, make a change and it automatically updates it throughout the building. Customer support is also 24/7 which is amazing. The other company we used in the past stopped their workday around 5pm and we'd have to wait hours for a call back from someone on the emergency line.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

There are a few more restrictions with settings in comparison to systems we've used in the past. Although, we are not a typical restaurant so others may not run into the same issues.

Efficiency. The POS computer is very straightforward. Because of this, orders are entered faster and get to the customer quicker than before.

**What do you like best about SpotOn?**

The customer service for SpotOn I have really enjoyed, and I am going to miss. Early in the process, our store was matched with Jonathan Smith. Jonathan's been fantastic. He's an email or a phone call away, quick to respond when I send an email, and always sends me what I need or does what needs doing for me quickly (usually within 24 hours) so I can focus on other aspects of the business that require less software programming or backend access. And he's always thorough when investigating whatever odd problem or inconsistency we discovered and helped me understand what was going on.

SpotOn can do A LOT. I'm sure we didn't take advantage of every feature that would have been helpful. And the reporting is pretty extensive and easy to manipulate to get the information that I needed - which I greatly appreciate.

We used Teamwork as a scheduling and clock-in system, and it is fairly easy to understand and to use, and integrates well with the SpotOn POS.

**What do you dislike about SpotOn?**

We set up with SpotOn Restaurant, but as our company pivoted, we started focusing more on retail products than made-to-order foods and drinks, and SpotOn became not as good a fit for us.

Towards the end of our partnership with SpotOn, the POS software in store got fairly glitchy. We wondered whether our extensive item library was straining the system, but were never able to determine a cause for the frequently long pauses in service.

The options on every screen are extensive, and if you don't know where on the screen the option that you need is and what exactly it is called and the header it is under, it is easy to miss checking or unchecking a box that leads to problem at the POS in the store.

One thing Square does that SpotOn does not is alert you if you are trying to create a duplicate UPC code. The go-around I discovered was to search my Menu Items by barcode to determine if the code I was about to enter for a new product was already in use. That works, but it is clunky.

**What problems is SpotOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were struggling with Square, and SpotOn worked as a great alternative for a while. While it can be difficult with both systems to figure out where to go to do what you need to do, SpotOn's customer service was far better than Square's and SpotOn was willing to train us via multiple video calls and screen shares to do what we wanted and needed to do.

We've had problems in the past with buffering when ringing in menu items. We also had a problem with our gift cards when SpotOn changed over this past year and we have to add "99" to the front of gift cards when being used.

I love the cloud based system.  I can update items from the workstation.  I can access from my phone and my laptop in the store or at home.  I love the Meraki device for internet backup.  There are a lot of add ons and features.  We use Reserve and like it.   Didn't love Teamwork.  Would like to see Schedulefly as a partner.

Handhelds are not reliable.  Competitor Toast has reliable and user friendly hardware/software that we see our competitor restaurants easily using.  It is a critical item for us that this improve as we are working to be more efficient and reduce labor.  Would love to see the website feature demo but have not received anyone reaching out.  As well often a new feature is released and has lots of bugs still.  We don't trust new features until many months have gone by.

I have never been a fan of paying extra fees for subscriptions. In today's competive POS market, I think company's shouldn't have to pay for standard features such as gift cards, online ordering, app integrations, etc.

SpotOn has helped work through uniquq and challenging issues with our loyalty program and gift card balance transfers from another system. They helped migrate data from a competitor POS system and also setup our system to work exactly the same way as we were used to before which was essential in streamlining the change.

The absolute best thing about SpotON is how nice every single person from that company is! Admin people to sales managers to the customer service reps in Mexico City, everyone is so lovely, efficient, caring to solve your problem and give you best advices and solutions!

One very small thing is that, when we enter a same item later on, when we print the check it doesn't combine.

Also I would love to see all items separated automatically when we print the check and show up in the order of:
-non alcoholic drinks
-alchohol
-savory
-dessert

But right now the receipt prints as it's entered and it can look very messy when we present the check. So for especially large parties, we are having to transfer items out to another table to create a neater check, and we would love that to be automated.

Also, I adore the ease around the loyalty feature, getting guests to sign up for it, and then using that native list to use the SpotOn marketing features.

I love data, and I dearly wish that there were some more robust features in data mining and then centralizing multiple restaurants' data into one entity--that would be a boon for franchisees who own multiple locations and rely on centralized information to make long-term, startegic decisions.

SpotOn, I have it on good authority, is looking into more helpful integrations that would be rad for my business, so that our entities could talk to one another easily and seamlessly.
