"Autonomy for the team, full visibility for finance !"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Spendesk?

What I like most is the autonomy it gives the team without sacrificing control over spending. When someone needs a new software subscription, they can request a dedicated virtual card in under a minute, their manager can approve it directly in Slack, and the card then reloads automatically each month. We now run nine subscriptions this way (Photoshop, Google Workspace, ChatGPT, Claude, Mistral, Mailgun, and a few others), each with its own card and monthly limit. That makes it easy to see who is spending what, and we can block a card whenever we need to.

Receipts are much less of a chore, too: the mobile app prompts you to upload them right after a payment, and the AI reads the invoice and pre-fills the fields for you. On the finance side, duplicate supplier invoices are flagged before anything gets paid, and the accounting export skips entries that were already exported, which saves a lot of manual re-entry at the end of the month. What do you dislike about Spendesk?

Honestly, there isn’t much I’d complain about in day-to-day use, but getting the most out of Spendesk does take some upfront setup. Spend categories and category-based policies are really powerful, yet configuring them properly takes time. We still haven’t fully done that on our side, which means a lot of approvals remain manual even though some could be automated.

Managing one card per subscription is great for visibility, but it also means you have to keep an eye on each card’s limit. When a vendor raises its price or a charge comes through in a foreign currency, the card can hit its cap and someone has to step in to adjust it. And since every expense goes through an approval flow, small recurring purchases can feel a bit heavy for managers until the rules are properly fine-tuned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
