"Streamlined Lead Tracking and Pipeline Visibility for IT Business Development"
4/5
What do you like best about Solid Performers CRM?

Honestly, as a Business Development IT Analyst at Pinnacle IT Consulting Group, Solid Performers CRM has completely streamlined how I manage leads, vendor outreach, and ongoing client relationships for our IT service projects, and it’s easily my favorite tool in my daily workflow. Before we switched over, I was juggling messy spreadsheets, scattered email threads, and manual follow-up logs to track every potential client and vendor partner. It was disorganized, super time-consuming, and way too easy to lose track of warm leads or upcoming project follow-ups.

What I like best about Solid Performers CRM is how simple yet tailored it is for IT service business development work. The lead tracking and pipeline visualization features save me hours every single week. I handle everything from cold vendor outreach for our cloud and cybersecurity consulting services to nurturing warm client leads for custom IT project deployments. The CRM lets me categorize every contact by project type, deal stage, and priority level, so I always know exactly where each opportunity stands.

I have a perfect real example from last month. We were pitching a small business IT infrastructure upgrade package to three separate prospective clients. Previously, I would’ve had to log every call note, email follow-up, and quote update in separate Excel tabs. With Solid Performers CRM, I dropped all meeting notes, pricing details, and follow-up deadlines directly into each lead’s profile. The platform even prompted me when it was time to send follow-up check-ins. Thanks to that structured tracking, I didn’t miss a single outreach window, and two of those three prospects moved forward with our IT consulting proposals.

I also really love how it centralizes all vendor and client communication history. Since I constantly coordinate with third-party tech vendors and existing clients for ongoing IT service agreements, having every conversation logged in one place is a game-changer. If my team needs to jump in on a project or review past outreach efforts, they can pull up the full history instantly without asking me to dig through old emails.

On top of that, the simple custom task automation cuts down repetitive work a ton. I set up basic auto-reminders for post-call follow-ups and routine client check-ins for our ongoing managed IT service accounts. This keeps our pipeline active and prevents leads from going cold, which used to be a common issue with our old manual system.

Overall, Solid Performers CRM makes my BD workflow far more consistent and reliable. It eliminates messy spreadsheet tracking, keeps my IT project leads and vendor relationships organized, and lets me focus on building genuine client connections instead of tedious administrative work. What do you dislike about Solid Performers CRM?

The biggest pain point is the clunky CSV import tool. I often pull lead lists from industry events and partner referrals, and I need to batch upload those contacts into the CRM. More than once, when I imported a larger list of potential IT service prospects, some fields would map incorrectly. Job titles, company names and project interest tags would end up in the wrong columns. Last quarter, I imported a list of 75 leads from a tech networking conference. Nearly a quarter of the records had misaligned data, so I had to go one by one and fix each entry manually. It ate up almost half a day of time I was supposed to spend drafting vendor outreach emails. There’s also no preview function before importing, so I can’t catch these mapping errors ahead of time.

I also find the reporting functionality pretty basic. I need to pull pipeline summaries for our weekly BD team syncs, showing lead sources, deal stages and projected revenue from IT consulting projects. The built-in reports don’t let me build fully custom filters. I can’t easily separate vendor outreach contacts from client leads, which is critical for my role. Every week I end up exporting raw data and building my own charts in Excel to get the breakdown our team needs.

Another annoying issue is email template limitations. I send out a lot of tailored outreach messages to prospective clients and technology vendors. The template editor doesn’t support dynamic fields very well, so I still have to manually swap out client names and project details each time. There’s also limited space to save different template versions for cybersecurity, cloud and infrastructure consulting outreach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
