## Snagit Reviews
  ### 1. Easy, Fast, and Great Value—Snagit Is a Daily Essential

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hillary R. | Associate Trainer - AI for EAs, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is easy and fast to use with great drag-and-drop functionality. Support is easy to access and there are a lot of excellent training sessions available for a deeper dive.

I've been using Snagit for a long time, brought it to two companies I worked for, and now use it in my own company. It's an amazing value and I use it every day in my work.

Another reason I love Snagit is because the company values user input and uses it to improve the product.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I think the only thing I can say I dislike is that sometimes it takes the picture before I'm really ready but that is most likely a me issue and not a Snagit one!

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit allows me to create effective workflows in a fraction of the time it used to take.
I create a lot of social media graphics using Snagit and love that it is so easy to add text and arrows so the image is good to go.
Snagit is a huge time and money saver for me across all the work I do on a daily basis - I don't need an expensive suite of tools to accomplish professional-looking graphics and images.

  ### 2. My "desert island" software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I am still a nearly daily user of Snagit, and still a fan. Will hopefully never have to let it go as one of my primary visual communication tools. They have rolled out some new features and updates that I like, such as improved scrolling captures.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I'd appreciate some better image manipulation tools such as color swapping or the ability to "clone" a nearby area to hide a cutout hole.

**Recommendations to others considering Snagit:**

It's not a professional design tool, so don't have the expectation that you're going to make graphics for professional use. It does a lot for a little workhorse tool, though, far beyond what most screen capture tools can do. It's the most used software on my system besides browser and comms software.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily I'm solving two challenges: communication and creative ideation. If I want to see how something would look, I can do it myself and I don't have to sit there with a graphic designer and work through my ideas - I can just do a quick mockup in a few minutes. And it's truly changed how I communicate technical issues with our teams, from simple typos to complex captures of flow experience.

  ### 3. Snagit Makes Screenshot Capture and Annotations Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohd T. | Technical Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how easy it is to capture screenshots and record screen videos. The editing tools are simple to use and make it quick to add annotations, highlights, and text. It saves time when creating tutorials, documentation, or sharing information with colleagues and customers.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

One thing I dislike about Snagit is that i can sometimes feel a bit expensive compared to other screenshots tools. The software may also use more system resources when working large images or recordings . Other that, it is generally reliable and easy to use.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps us quickly captures screenshots, records, screen videos, and create visual guides for training, support and documentation. it makes it easier to explain processes and share information clearly. This saves time, improves communication, and helps team members and customers understand instructions more effectively.

  ### 4. Convenient Screenshot Editing for Documentation with a Friendly UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle.Bravo@allmar.com B. | ServiceDesk Analyst / IT Infra, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

You can do multiple screenshots but at the same time there are lots of tools such as highlighting and shaping it before trying to send or attach it to email or just chat. Snagit is a convenient tool where you can literally screenshot and edit at the same time. Pretty convenient especially when creating documentations. User interface is friendly as well. Price is pretty affordable and support is top notch.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit requires to be updated most of the time. When you use a lower version of Snagit especially when running latest Windows, you can notice the sluggish feel when using it, nonetheless its still the best capturing tool out there.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating IT Documentation is a hassle when just using a regular snapping tool. Snagit is a all in one tool where you can edit capture right away and highlight the steps. Pretty convenient and cool if you ask me. I always use Snagit all the time even when I'm not doing documentation. It also has a specific folder where it saves everything in case you want to check what you screenshot previously.

  ### 5. Robust Screen Capture and Quick Annotation for Efficient Visual Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ingrid C. | Implementation Manager, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is a robust screen capture and lightweight editing tool designed for efficient visual communication. It supports static screenshots, scrolling capture, and short video recordings with minimal performance overhead. Capture profiles and hotkeys allow for fast, repeatable workflows.

The editor includes essential annotation tools such as callouts, arrows, step labels, blur/obfuscation, and templates, enabling rapid creation of technical documentation and support artifacts. Asset management and export options support multiple formats, making it easy to integrate outputs into tickets, documentation, and knowledge bases.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

While Snagit is powerful for basic capture and annotation, it has some limitations. Performance can slow when working with large or multiple captures, and video editing capabilities are fairly basic compared to dedicated video tools. The asset library can become cluttered over time, especially for users who capture content frequently, making organization more manual than desirable. Additionally, the licensing cost may feel high for users who only need occasional or simple capture functionality.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit benefits me by enabling faster and clearer communication through visual documentation. Being able to quickly capture screens, annotate steps, and highlight issues reduces back‑and‑forth explanations and saves time when creating support tickets, training materials, or process documentation. This improves accuracy, minimizes misunderstandings, and increases overall productivity, even when used alongside other specialized tools.

  ### 6. Right amount of POWERFUL software that is easy to use and always meets our needs!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryce V. | Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It has all the typical tools, and has some that are not typical. For instance the cut out tool allows you to make very fast adjustments that fit most use case requirements. Everything is simple and easy to follow while providing high quality output in all formats you will require. For me and our team, the ROI is excellent and the performance of the software always excels.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

For my work and our team's requirements, there is nothing that we dislike. We would appreciate seeing some more templates and "Stamps" added throughout the year after a new software release - not because we NEED them but because we like the offerings!

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast, easy and great quality edits to screen captures that allows us to finish up quickly. In most cases one or two tools does everything we want. If we need to go further, Snagit offers the tools for those times as well.

  ### 7. Simple, Reliable Annotation and Screen Recording Tool for Life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nithya S. | QA Copilot, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Simple to use and comes with all the necessary tools for annotation. I bought it once and using it for my lifetime. Recording my screen and taking screenshots are both very easy, and they’ve always been reliable for me. It’s also very good at identifying apps like my browser or any other window, and it automatically selects the right area.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Honestly, there isn’t much else to add. One thing I do want to point out is that if you buy a license, it applies only to that specific version. You can’t update to the latest version without purchasing a new license. That said, I’m perfectly fine with the version I bought, so I’ve never felt the need to upgrade.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a QA Engineer, I often need to capture screenshots or record video. Snagit helps me take screenshots, annotate them, and clearly point out what the bug is about. The video feature also includes an option to record both system video and microphone audio. After capturing a screenshot or video, I attach it to my bug report to provide more detail about the issue.

  ### 8. Simple One-Click Snips and Video Recording with Easy Notes and Editing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay W. | Bulk Gas Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It’s simple to use—I love the ability to take a snippet of something or record a video. Both are as simple as pushing a button. It’s also very easy to add notes and point out certain things, and the editing is super easy. The drag and drop programming is super easy to work with

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It’s not that I dislike this feature, but I think it could be improved by making it easier to delete old snippets. For example, having a quicker way to remove them by date or month would help, instead of only being able to delete everything at once or one by one.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, I always used the Snipping Tool, and it wasn’t always the most user-friendly when it came to editing. I also couldn’t easily switch between recording a video and taking snags with the push of a button. Now I can easily go back to older snags unless I delete them.

  ### 9. My Go-To Tool for Screenshots, Annotations, and Quick Recordings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jerrid C. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how quickly I can capture, edit, and share visual information without breaking my workflow. I use it daily in my consulting work for screenshots, annotated images, documentation, training materials, client communication, and quick screen recordings. The biggest value for me is that it lets me go from idea or issue to a polished visual explanation in just a few minutes.

The UI is one of its strongest points. It’s intuitive enough that I rarely have to think about where tools are or how to accomplish something, which matters a lot when I’m moving quickly between client work and internal deliverables. At the same time, the editing tools are much more capable than what you get with built-in screenshot utilities. I can add callouts, annotations, highlights, and other visual cues fast, without needing a more complex design tool.

I also like that it supports screen recording in addition to static screenshots, which makes it more versatile for walkthroughs and training content. The integration with Camtasia is another plus, since it makes it easier to move from quick captures into more polished video content when needed.

One of the biggest workflow improvements for me is simply speed and clarity. Compared with using basic screenshot tools or something limited like Paint, Snagit helps me create clearer explanations faster, which reduces back-and-forth and makes it easier to communicate issues, instructions, or ideas to clients.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

What I dislike most about Snagit is the pricing, especially now that it is subscription-based. As a solo consultant, I pay close attention to software costs, and while I use Snagit enough to justify it, the price feels a little high compared with how focused the product is. For someone who only needs occasional screenshots or very basic annotation, it may be harder to justify versus built-in tools or lower-cost alternatives.

I have also run into performance issues from time to time. Most of the time, it works well, but there are moments when it feels slower than it should, which can be frustrating when I am using it frequently throughout the day. Because one of Snagit’s biggest strengths is speed, any slowdown stands out more.

That said, these drawbacks have not outweighed the value for me. I continue to use it daily because the workflow is strong and the editing tools are much better than simpler screenshot utilities, but pricing and occasional performance hiccups are the main tradeoffs in my experience.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps me solve a communication problem more than anything else. In my consulting work, I often need to explain product ideas, document workflows, point out issues, or give feedback to clients quickly and clearly. Text alone is often not enough, and basic screenshot tools do not provide the editing and annotation capabilities I need. Snagit makes it easy to capture exactly what I want, mark it up, and share it in a way that is immediately understandable.

The biggest benefit is speed. It has helped me create documentation faster, produce quick training materials more efficiently, and communicate issues or recommendations to clients with much less back-and-forth. I also use it for screen recordings, which makes it easier to walk someone through a process instead of writing a long explanation.

From a workflow perspective, Snagit improves both clarity and responsiveness. I can turn a question, bug, or idea into a visual explanation in just a few minutes, which helps me move client work forward faster and makes my communication more effective overall.

  ### 10. Snagit Makes Process Documentation and Screenshots Effortless!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brittany S. | Senior Technical Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is a WONDERFUL product. It's easy to use and has a great variety of tools and options. I spend a good amount of time documenting process and taking screenshots in my role. Snagit makes this super easy.

The system respond quickly. I've never had issues with lag or response time. It's easy to find help and tips when I want to learn something new, and tips for easier usage are available all the time! The pricing is great and absolutely worth the product.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes I have trouble finding the options I'm looking to toggle on or off without using the Help feature. But the Help feature is detailed and thorough. So my complaint is not that I can't find something or make changes to my preferences, but more that it can take some digging to find what I'm looking for.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documenting step-by-step processes! I often provide both internal and external clients with documentation. I couldn't do it without Snagit. I've tried other products that just don't offer the variety Snagit does. Snagit is a HUGE time saver and gets the screenshots and instructions I need done quickly and looking fantastic!
