We run a small e-commerce store selling pit bikes and spare parts (PrestaShop 9), and I set up Smartsupp during the trial period.

Setup & integration: Installation is basically one JavaScript snippet, so it was easy to wrap into our own PrestaShop module. What I appreciated most is the JavaScript API — we have a custom GDPR cookie consent bar, and Smartsupp's consent API let me map our visitors' consent choices directly to the chat, so we stay compliant without any hacks.

UI/UX: The chat widget looks clean on the storefront and the dashboard is easy to understand even for non-technical staff — our shop assistant picked it up without any training. The shortcuts feature (canned responses) is the biggest time saver for us: we prepared answers for repeated questions like shipping prices, delivery times and installment payments, and answering a customer takes seconds instead of typing the same thing again and again.

Performance: No measurable impact on page speed, which was important for us — we spent a lot of time optimizing the store and the chat didn't ruin it.

Support/Onboarding: Onboarding was self-service and straightforward, we didn't need to contact support at all, which I'd count as a good sign.

AI/Intelligence: We haven't used the AI features much yet — for a small shop like ours, the live chat with shortcuts covers most of what we need. I'd like to explore the AI answers later for after-hours questions.

Pricing/ROI: For a small business the pricing is the main thing to weigh. The free trial was enough to see real value — customers do use the chat and ask pre-sale questions (mostly about part compatibility), which are exactly the conversations that turn into orders. That's what makes us consider the paid plan.
