"Effortless Functionality Makes Work a Breeze"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Ease of the functionalities. Smartsheet has a wide range of tools that can be used to work efficiently. There's a lot of features I haven't fully discovered, yet everything feels easy and straight forward to use. The best way to describe it, is excel on steroids and made easier to operate. I'm using smartsheet on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

When you are working collaborative, the overwriting of other colleagues changes is not always very handy. If this could be improved so it's more direct and every change gets automatically autosaved, that would improve the overall experience even more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smartsheet is a great tool that makes my job easier to do."
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

My favorite thing about Smartsheet is how flexible it is. You can use it for just about anything. It's also very simple to make changes to a solution once it's been created. It's nice to be able to pivot when needed! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet dashboards are generally good, but I’m disappointed that there isn’t an option to filter or drill down into the data. The visualizations also feel somewhat limited when compared to other tools I’ve used. Another issue is that users frequently suggest improvements, even small and straightforward ones, but these changes either never get implemented or take an extremely long time to appear. At the same time, features that no one requested, like Collections, are introduced instead. It would be great if the company listened more closely to its customers. "Smartsheet: A Modern PMO That Streamlines Complex Projects Effortlessly"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet gives me an operational command centre that actually scales with the way I work. The platform takes complex projects and translates them into clean, trackable workflows without any of the friction you’d expect from legacy tools. The interface is intuitive enough that onboarding is a non-event, yet powerful enough to handle multi-stakeholder projects end-to-end.

The biggest upside is how quickly I can stand up structured project frameworks, automate repetitive tasks, and maintain real-time visibility across deliverables. It removes noise, reduces admin, and helps me drive initiatives forward with pace and accountability. In short, it feels like a modern PMO in a box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The only consistent pain point is that some of the more advanced features sit behind a learning curve that slows down adoption for team members who aren't as tech-comfortable. When scaling cross-department projects, I occasionally have to simplify workflows just to keep everyone aligned. A more seamless integration layer for external tools would also unlock even more end-to-end automation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very flexible but very slow (a souped-up spreadsheet)"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Flexibility when linking sheets to build architectures that allow good collaboration between people by automating updates between sheets, even through formulas.

Additionally, it allows for easy creation of reports and dashboards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

I would like the performance to improve, as you have to wait several seconds for each load.

Also, when a workspace changes ownership, all elements should change as well. Currently, in the Dashboards, you have to update the owner widget by widget.

Additionally, it is not prepared for product management with agile methods; they make it very artificial and it is neither practical nor comfortable (from the board view you cannot create children, in the end, you have to go to the table view).

From the Rest API, you cannot perform the same operations as from the interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Automation and Collaboration, But Licensing Limits Us internally"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

The flexibility of creating sheets and assign automated workflows based on events and criteria that occurs within the sheet(s). Having unlimited external users/collaborators to place data within system for tracking purposes. Having a user-friendly automation set up which is easy to use and to set up based on conditions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The newly added licencing, where everyone within your organisation/email domain must have a paid licence to use the system. Not everyone that uses Smartsheet within our company creates sheets/automated workflows/projects ect. They only place data within the system and edits rows where necessary. With this new licencing we are forced to look at alternatives. As we cant afford giving each person that uses the system only for editing rows a licence. Only a certain amount of employees creates sheets and workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"using smart sheet but probably not to its full potential"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

*Muliple people can we be working on it at once

*clients can see a live update 365 days a year

*pictures and attachments can be added to the line

*multi layed filtering

*super easy to use

*used 5 days a week by 19 people Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

*Currently very slow opening and loading new sheets

*you can updated multiple lines at once- eg the same comment needs to be added on multiple lines - you can not do this in a bulk you have to go into each one line by line

*we have no customer support and the one time we really needed it i was told no one could help and it took days to get this response

* hard to work out how to get the system to impliment automation - ive tried but cant get it work

*if you havent submitted a comment, you get a pop up but you cant click and be taken to the line with the comment to submit it, and have to scroll up and down untill you see the little pen

*when you set a reminder on a line, again you cant click and be taken straight to the line on the smart sheet

*more support required on how to use the systme to the full potential as im sure it can do more for us but need an account manager to dicuss and support with this or we will in the near future have to look to move to a full CRM to make our life less manual and admin heavy

*glitches out at around 4000 lines of data and the smart sheet jumps around and lines move about Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and User-Friendly Platform That Simplifies Planning"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Easy to use, not full of colours and big boxes like other products, you can see your plan on one page. It's intuitive easy for people to understand after just 5 minutes of coaching. Collaborative working works well in the most part with live updates when two people are on the same sheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

I do not like the new licencing model, it has created another level of administration and fear of breaching member accounts. What was almost a USP over other products that everyone didn't need to be licenced and a clear direction of where Smartsheet is heading. The whole new licencing model is also not very straight forward.

I think some big improvements are needed on backups, it is not easy to restore and would prefer a more snapshot of time and easier to undo changes that people have made. Importing from excel could be better executed with field pickers for things like dates and multiple worksheet excel documents.

Adding a new user is clunky and doesn't always work, have had to add people twice as the first time didn't work then the endless refreshing of pages to get the change/addition to happen.

Dashboards need to be more powerful and are a bit basic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Task Prioritization, but have a lot areas of improvement"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I used it everyday for prioritizing my tasks and create my requests.

It allowed me to keep a live conversation with my collaborators.

Currently, I use it to share database chart info as translations, multiple information lists, then based on that create the SQL tables that I need.

I also keep track of projects status. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

When i copied a row it didn't drag the files that were in the original, so i had to attached again.

I wasn't able to include images on my comments, I was only able to attach PDF files.

I was not able to link it to outlook, and create my requests from there.

I did not receive notification unless my collaborator tags me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smartsheet Modernized Our Workflow and Boosted Team Collaboration"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

The collaboration within the team has improved significantly. I also find the filters to be very useful. We moved our trackers from Excel to Smartsheet, and it works much better now, even in terms of how it feels to use. I have to say, the forms have made things a lot easier for us. I really like the tick boxes - something soo simple, but makes a bit difference. I like the little details like the dates function - It's just a lot more modern than our excel sheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Some Excel keyboard shortcuts don’t always work — for example, Ctrl+D (which should fill down like in Excel) often doesn’t do anything.

It can feel a bit sluggish when working with larger sheets.

There’s no offline mode, which can sometimes be inconvenient if the internet connection drops.

Finally, when you are working as a team, the updates aren't always immediate, and sometimes have reload the whole tab. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unmatched Flexibility Lets Every Team Work Their Way"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

What we’ve come to appreciate most about Smartsheet is how flexible it is. Unlike traditional project management software that locks you into one rigid format, Smartsheet gives you the freedom to design your own workflows — whether that’s through grids, Gantt charts, calendars, or dashboards. For ISDM, this flexibility means that each team can adapt Smartsheet to its own needs while still maintaining a shared language of progress and accountability. For instance, our academic team uses it to plan program calendars and track course deliveries, while our communications team uses it to manage campaigns, content pipelines, and deadlines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

it can sometimes feel complex for new users. The learning curve can be steep for team members who aren’t used to project management systems or formula-driven sheets. We’ve found that onboarding and consistent training are key to getting everyone comfortable. Similarly, as our use of Smartsheet has expanded, licensing costs have become something to watch — the platform is worth the investment, but it’s not cheap if you want advanced features for every team member.
