Certain features can be very useful, like setting up multiple cursors to make a change in multiple spots. The tool is great for automating development tasks and simplifying file editing. There is also a great variety of macros that people have built that further enhances the editor. You can also build your own macros using the recording feature and then you can look at the code that is generated and from there you can further enhance it or polish the process you want to automate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about SlickEdit? Not a whole lot of support from companies that I have worked for. They don't see the value in it. Macros are built using the SlickC language which is counter-intuitive and doesn't have a lot of support compared to scripting languages like Python or Ruby. What problems is SlickEdit solving and how is that benefiting you? Mainly the editing of various files that aren't supported by a particular IDE.
