Honestly, what I love most about Slack is the way channels work. Everything stays really organized by topic or project, so you can finally ditch those messy email threads. On top of that, getting instant alerts from tools like GitHub right inside the same place you’re chatting makes the whole workflow feel a lot smoother. It’s simple and clean, and it keeps everyone on the same page without constant tab-switching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest downside for me is how distracting it can be, with nonstop pings and notifications popping up throughout the day. It’s just too easy to get pulled out of deep-focus work. On top of that, trying to track down past files or older messages later can be pretty frustrating, especially when people didn’t post them in the right thread.
