## Sisense Reviews
 ### 1. Customizable Dashboards, but Data Freshness Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris P. | Product Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I use Sisense for displaying complex data analysis on our platform. I like the drag-and-drop feature for creating dashboards, which can range from very simple to very complex, allowing me to focus on the data rather than coding. The customizability is a major plus for me, especially being able to use SQL to model the data and tailor the dashboard UI. Sisense supports various widget types, making it easy to theme dashboards and display data intuitively.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

At this point, we are a cloud customer and the timing we need to observe of the ETL leaves our data out of date almost as fast as we can get it in there due to the size of our clusters, we can only build so much at a time without overwhelming the system or incurring much more cost.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to display complex data analysis with customizable dashboards and SQL-type queries, allowing me to focus on the data instead of coding the dashboard. The dashboard UI is flexible with various widget types, making data intuitive.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Thank you for your feedback. Your points are valid, part of the reason Sisense focuses so much on our cloud solution is because it's easier for us to monitor and maintain performance for our customers. We recognize that DevOps resources are not readily available for all organizations and not an investment every customer wants to make. If managing the server is not something your organization wants to take on then cloud is the right solution for you. Please contact your CSM so we can discuss alleviating this pain for your organization!

 ### 2. Sisense is a great tool competent data analysis

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The visualisations are clear and easy to generate, dashboards can be shared with users, or automated out as emails. Performance is good, with data builds compiling quickly. We were able to integrate successfully with our system on items such as SAP inputs, and active directory SSO for logins. Support always respond in a short time, and our technical consultant always has methods to achieve our business goals. Subscription costs seem way cheaper than rivals such as Tableau.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Elasticubes can get very complex, and visually our logic is difficult to see. Other ETLs I have used work more like a flow, where descriptions/labels can be added at each part of the process. Line numbers added to SQL queries would be good, making error analysis easier.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to quickly see operational trends and issues, compiling our business metrics automatically..

 ### 3. Empowers Data-Driven Solutions with Customizable Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul V N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense keeps testing the boundaries. It's a dev space for developers, almost like a sandbox, giving a lot of control unlike other BI tools. I specifically like all its integration features and I'm a big fan of the Compose SDK, which allows breaking out of standard designs for dashboards and widgets, giving full control of the look and feel of a brand. Sisense enables clients to combine and mesh different data easily with ElastiCubes and offers multiple types of embedding features, making the integration seamless and creating a modern look for end users. Since it's in the cloud, the initial setup was very simple.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I definitely think dashboard sharing or code dashboard ownership gets a little wonky, a little weird. I also find that the integration and the Python integration can be a little difficult if you're just starting to use it. The documentation on the website itself could also be improved.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to help my clients solve business problems with their data. It allows them to combine and mesh different data using ElastiCubes and offers embedding features for seamless integration into their platforms, creating a modern look for end users.

 ### 4. User-Friendly and Functional, Needs More Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sonu . | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense is a very good tool and really user-friendly. It's simple and easy to use, which makes the clients happy. Designing logical data models and dashboards is easy with Sisense, and it allows us to implement whatever the client asks. It's really helpful in improving user feedback and meeting client requirements. The Sisense support team was also very helpful in setting everything up smoothly. The tool also helps us to look into the data in a more clear way.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sometimes Sisense is a bit slow and some functionalities, like some widgets, get blocked. For example, the scatter map doesn't always work as needed, and the date filter can be problematic. Also, we want more functionalities similar to other BI tools to get more insights from the data.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps us create dashboards for finance clients, tailored to their needs like finance segmentation and donor categories, enabling them to see data more clearly. It allows digging deeper into data, fulfilling user-specific requirements effectively.

 ### 5. Straightforward UI, Seamless Integrations, and Helpful Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darragh M. | Software Implementation Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The UI/UX is straightforward and easy to use, both for building dashboards and for creating or modifying Elastic Cubes. Integrations have worked seamlessly for our organisation. Support is readily available, and there’s also a solid amount of documentation online when we need it.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Performance is the only real gripe I have with Sisense. Cube builds don’t perform well when they’re handling heavy data loads.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to build custom reports in a timely manner using the data we capture in our system.

 ### 6. Intuitive BI with AI fearures

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan T. | R&D Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense is easy to be used by non-technical users. The dashboard design is really user-friendly and intuitive. I also like the AI features they're introducing. I like the scalability in Kubernetes deployment. The initial setup of Sisense was really simple. The documentation was really rich and accurate, and the startup time was really short.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I don't like that the Windows version is no longer evolving. We have customers that are not able to switch to Linux and Kubernetes, so they have limited features.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps our customers visualize and analyze contact center data. It's user-friendly for non-technical users and offers intuitive dashboard design. I appreciate the AI features and scalability in Kubernetes deployment.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Hi Alan, thank you for the review! I would love to see you around our community. The community offers a ton of resources and is where we encourage our customers to interact together. :)

 ### 7. Powerful Data Manipulation with Easy Navigation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominic W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like Sisense's ability to manipulate complex data and visualize it in a clear way. It is useful to have the option to change the type of join I use between custom tables, like using left join, right join, or outer join when linking tables together. I also appreciate that the dashboard side is very easy to navigate. Additionally, the initial setup of Sisense was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Ease of navigation within the Elasticube has been disappointing. There's a bug where, after editing a table, clicking elsewhere in the cube causes the table I just edited to move to that location. This results in some unwanted joins being made.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to manipulate complex data and visualize it clearly, which helps me in data analysis and dashboard building.

 ### 8. Seamless White-Label Embedded Analytics That Scales with Us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elliot M. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

We've been using Sisense for a few years now to embed analytics directly into our platform and the experience has been really positive. The ability to white-label dashboards and integrate them into our own product via the Compose SDK means our customers get a seamless analytics experience that feels native to what we've built. The flexibility to work with both live connections and ElastiCube models has been really valuable as our data architecture has evolved. The AI features like natural language querying are something our users genuinely get excited about. It's a platform that has scaled well with us and the support team has been responsive whenever we've needed them.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Like any complex platform, there is a learning curve when you first get started, particularly around data modelling and the initial setup of embedded environments. Some of the more advanced configurations can take time to get right, and it's worth investing in onboarding properly to get the most out of it early on. Documentation has improved a lot over the years, but occasionally you need to dig a little deeper or lean on support for more niche use cases. These are fairly minor points for a platform of this depth and they haven't taken away from the overall experience.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Sisense solves for us is the ability to deliver analytics directly inside our product without having to build and maintain our own BI layer from scratch. Before Sisense, every new report or dashboard required significant engineering time, which slowed down our product roadmap and created ongoing technical debt. Sisense has taken that burden away entirely. Our customers now get a seamless, white-labelled analytics experience inside our platform, and our engineering team can focus on what they do best. The scalability has also been a huge benefit, as our user base has grown, Sisense has grown with us. The addition of AI features like natural language querying has been a bonus, making data more accessible to our less technical users and genuinely adding value to our product offering.

 ### 9. Intuitive Interface and Flexible Integration Elevate Our Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I love the polished and intuitive user interface of Sisense. The integration capabilities are impressive, ranging from non-embedded options to iframes and an SDK that we can leverage in our application. The 'compose SDK' is well documented and provides easy-to-follow examples for integrating within a React application. It's great that we can build Sisense into our product and offer useful information directly through the app. The transition from Exago to Sisense was pretty easy, and having a Jasper Reports plugin for legacy reports that need to be pixel-perfect is a great asset.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The elasticache feature is probably our least used feature because of the way our databases need to be queried and cross database schemas joined together. It isn't supported in the elasticube. We tried to use the build for RedShift that leverages elasticube, but we eventually stopped using it altogether. Another area for improvement would be with the Git integration. Initially, it seemed like what we needed, but our engineers decided it does not fit our needs. It seems more geared towards people with a staging Sisense deployment and a production, whereas we only have one.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to combine multiple multi-tenant databases, enabling customers to query and build dashboards with data across their business.

 ### 10. Powerful Data Combination and Manipulation, in a Polished Package

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Caching data using Elasticubes gives the ability to stack multiple data and columns on top of each other, allowing for complex custom data pulling from many different areas than software directly querying your data. Being able to connect to many different sources helps bring data together. Our customers really like the look and feel of Sisense.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

While the platform is generally stable and free of major bugs, more minor bugs do crop up with release versions and may go unresolved for multiple releases.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps our customers visualise the data we collect for them. It's flexability and customisability always allows us to meet the clients needs & expectations.
