## Simplify3D Reviews
  ### 1. Process-Based Workflow and Excellent Supports Make Slicing Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Simplify3D?**

The process-based workflow is what hooked me. Being able to assign completely different settings—layer height, speed, infill, and temperature—to different sections of the same model is something I haven’t found done as well anywhere else. Custom support placement is also excellent: supports release cleanly, the surface finish is preserved, and I’ve stopped dreading post-processing.

The slicer is fast, and the pre-print preview is detailed enough to catch real problems before they happen. Setup was painless too; my printer was on the compatibility list out of the box, with sane defaults. For an intermediate user who doesn’t want to spend hours dialing in profiles, it strikes a great balance between control and usability.

**What do you dislike about Simplify3D?**

The update cadence is the main frustration. Free alternatives like PrusaSlicer and Orca push fixes and features constantly, while Simplify3D moves much slower. A few modern features, tree supports, better Klipper integration, are either missing or underdeveloped compared to what the open-source slicers now offer. Customer support has also been hit or miss; when I ran into an issue early on, the community forums were more useful than official channels. None of this kills the experience, but for a paid product it's a fair criticism.

**What problems is Simplify3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

nconsistent print quality and painful support removal were my two biggest time sinks before switching. Simplify3D addressed both. Prints come out more predictably on the first try, which means less wasted filament and less time babysitting reruns. The process system also lets me optimize prints I would have previously just accepted as "good enough", I can push quality on detailed sections without slowing down the whole job. Net result: I spend more time printing and less time troubleshooting.

  ### 2. Efficient and intuitive

  ### 5. Outdated Software, Support not as dedicated as they claim. 5 Days in & still waiting for my refund

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Simplify3D?**

None, so far the experience has been bad, even contacting support is meh from the start.

**What do you dislike about Simplify3D?**

Very deceptive from the start, the website says my printers are supported but they weren't available on the choices of printers to use, so I have to manually set up each printer profile from scratch to be able to use it, contacted support and it took a day before they got back to me. I availed for a refund since my printer wasn't really available and it took over 24 hours to get support on how to set it up. No dedicated support like they claimed and $149 to manually set up your printer is just too much. You are better off using Cura or Prusaslicer which are free and support more printers. They said I will be refunded in 2days, it has been 5 days and still have not received the $149 refund, even though they already deactivated my account, confirmed with my bank and no pending refund from them.

**What problems is Simplify3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had 3 printers and the website said my printers were supported. so $149 sounded like a good deal if it works, but it didn't.

  ### 6. Great performance but software development lack of updates, compatibility and ui

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Simplify3D?**

performance, energy efficiency, intuitive, professional.

**What do you dislike about Simplify3D?**

UI is inconvenient, outdated. espsecially with MacOS.
A lot of features missing compared to cura.
in general, simplify needs a leap forward, something innovative. connection to web server, raspberry pi / octoprint implementation.

**Recommendations to others considering Simplify3D:**

Quick, efficient and coneveniet but with a lack of features and UI intuitivity.

**What problems is Simplify3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

complex models, engineering prototypes.
performance and energy efficiency during calculation and code output is really good and results are clean.

  ### 7. Best 3D Slicing Software 5 Years Running!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grant F. | Founder/CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Simplify3D?**

This software isn’t just fast, it’s crazy fast, it’s ridiculous just how fast it is even on low grade computers. Not only that but it packs a boatload of features and every time I look there’s always something new. You can adjust speed at different parts of the same print, edit individual support structures, fix models in-house, and so much more that I haven’t even had full experience with in 5 years of use.

**What do you dislike about Simplify3D?**

Literally nothing, I can’t come up with a single issue with it. If I had one thing to say that they could improve on, it would be wifi print compatibility with either OctoPrint or AstroPrint or preferably both.

**Recommendations to others considering Simplify3D:**

It’s worth the cost, just make sure you keep an eye on how many computers are using the license. Be sure to take full advantage of the printer support on their website, it is honestly the best place for diagnosing 3d print issues in the entire internet.

**What problems is Simplify3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can slice a large high quality print in 5 seconds where the average slicer and even major slicers like the one that rhymes with SnakerDot can take several minutes. I can also control individual support structures as well as fine tuning I simply can’t do on any other software

  ### 8. Fast, Simple and Efficient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophia N. | Vector Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Simplify3D?**

The software's role is assistance editing and that the support structure creation algorithm. Creation is high-speed, and application paths preview is accurate. The capability to publish components is a substantial edge over the competition.

**What do you dislike about Simplify3D?**

I want to be able to publish two components. When it's this capacity, it's confusing to use (I thought I read somewhere that this purpose had been available). The document title is cut off once you proceed to choose which to publish. Should you use an SD card to move information to the printer. This makes it tough to return in history and write a document which has a similar title.

**Recommendations to others considering Simplify3D:**

The cost tag is somewhat steep, but Simplify3D is the one if you want an easy-to-use item of software that provides you much control over your preferences, in addition to cutting edge quality.

**What problems is Simplify3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the applications to enhance high quality and the finish of QA test fittings which are in the prototype phase. The ability to fine-tune the procedure employing the controls in the program enables me to print fittings which are near the target measurements. Do not provide the performance that Simplify 3D provides. You will need other applications. The simple fact that Simplify 3D was harmonious with my Maker Gear I use on the job, made it a choice.

  ### 9. Packed with features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shubham A. | Design Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Simplify3D?**

Custom supports, variable firmware wizard and elaborate print settings make it an awesome choice. Exporting FFF settings is a very handy choice.

**What do you dislike about Simplify3D?**

The scripts don't work the way it should. Placing surface on bed requires to select everytime for every part

**Recommendations to others considering Simplify3D:**

Great product for professional working environment.

**What problems is Simplify3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I make a lot of prints with S3D. Vast choices and part orientation and the overall UI is very seemless for working in an industrial platform.

  ### 10. Printing flex and many other

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike S. | 3D Printing Engineer | Intellectual Property Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Simplify3D?**

I like that I can set all the parameters as I prefer, I have access and can control the whole process.
Another strong point is that I can use simplify3d with many different printers. When I try to use it with TPE and TPU I have all the control to calibrate the print

**What do you dislike about Simplify3D?**

sometimes the slice time is disproportionate to the size of the file. I have a problem with the proxy settings, I have set the correct settings but sometimes I can't open the software. Another problem I faced is the cancel button when it starts to slice, sometimes it didn't respond and should close the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Simplify3D:**

It's a very useful tool and you can count on this, very stable, good community and of course nice prints.

**What problems is Simplify3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

printing flex materials and support difficult small parts
