I like the linked parameter approach in Simcenter Amesim where every component, like a hydraulic valve, is represented in a mathematical equation, allowing me to compute the overall system behavior. It's really helpful in constructing a functional block diagram of an entire machine using its pre-validated components. Siemens did a great job in building its libraries, making it easier to drag and drop from physical libraries. Additionally, the initial setup was easy for me. I find that Simcenter Amesim can't capture fine localized physical boundaries like complex vortex swirl patterns inside a cylinder. I think it would be better if it had a self-image processing system to capture these boundaries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you see any improvements don't hesitate to let our support engineers know, as you might know you can connect your Simcenter Amesim model with a CFD model of your cilinder to get all the fine flow details you need in system context, but a swirl pattern processing system might be a valuable addition.
