I find Signal AI's ability to identify and collate news about our institution into manageable search lists very useful. It allows us to monitor potential reputational issues and identify them early. One of the standout features for me is its capacity to determine article sentiment, distinguishing between positive, negative, and neutral coverage, which is exceptionally hard to achieve with most tools. I also like that I can create a large number of search dashboards that operate simultaneously, which helps us capture a wide range of media coverage. The pricing is more competitive compared to Cision, and I appreciate that there are no hidden fees. Setting up dashboards and searches is easier to manage, and the support we received during the setup process was very good. Signal AI provided more flexibility and control over how we set things up. It would be helpful to have access to search coverage over a longer timespan. The licenses covering Signal AI searches only allow them to share the content of media coverage during the last 90 days. This makes it harder to retrospectively explore the history of a news story or an issue that has become increasingly important to the organization. Creating a database that allows users to explore older coverage in more detail would be very useful, though I recognize there are a number of barriers/challenges that would need to be overcome in order to do this. It would also be helpful to search for specific stories in a more granular way - I don't find it easy to identify articles written by particular journalists for specific outlets. The ability to do this would be valuable. A bit tricky, to be honest. We did go through the process three times (I think) before we were entirely satisfied with the dashboards we had set up.
