"Streamlined Client Outreach with Strong Segmentation, Needs Better Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sendlane?

The split audience filtering and dual email-SMS automation are the platform’s biggest strengths for our tax compliance outreach. I tag every client based on their operating province, fiscal year end and business entity type, so I only send CRA filing, GST/HST and year-end notices that apply directly to them—this drastically cuts down repetitive client clarification emails we used to get from generic mass blasts. Every send, open and click is automatically logged, forming clear communication audit trails we’re required to maintain for internal firm reviews. The drag-and-drop automation builder makes building multi-step deadline sequences intuitive. I set up a standard workflow: first an informative email reminder, then a short SMS follow-up if the client never opens the original message, ensuring critical tax deadlines don’t slip through the cracks. What do you dislike about Sendlane?

Sendlane barely offers native integrations with Canadian accounting platforms or our firm’s client CRM. I spend time each week cleaning and uploading contact spreadsheets manually to keep audience groups accurate. Its native reporting module sometimes shows mismatched delivery and open metrics, forcing me to cross-check and reconcile data before compiling audit files. There are no pre-built SMS templates formatted for formal tax compliance notices, and extra message overage charges inflate our monthly operational costs. New junior accounting staff take extra time to master the automation editor, requiring one-on-one walkthroughs before they can build functional reminder sequences independently.
