What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush gives us the data to identify search opportunities, understand our competitors and measure whether our SEO/AEO investment is improving our visibility. We can also see what competitors are doing that we aren't, which adds significant value.

The UI/UX is excellent. The platform is intuitive, well organised and makes what can be quite complex SEO data relatively easy to understand and act on.

Performance is strong, with data and reports generally quick and reliable, even when working across larger datasets.

The AI features are becoming increasingly useful, particularly as search continues to evolve. They give us additional insight into AI visibility and help us understand how our brand is appearing beyond traditional search results.

Pricing and ROI are also positives for us. Semrush isn't the cheapest tool, but we think it represents good value given the breadth and depth of data available. A lot of the competitor, keyword, ranking and search visibility data we use would be difficult to obtain reliably from other sources, so the cost is justified by the amount of actionable information we get from the platform.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

Can be overwhelming without training for new users. There is a huge amount of data and functionality, and it can take time to understand which tools and metrics are genuinely useful. The learning curve is probably the biggest downside.

There are times when it's easy to get caught up in metrics and reports that don't necessarily translate into meaningful business actions. It takes some discipline to focus on the data that actually informs strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?

Semrush gives us a much clearer view of our organic search and AI visibility than we could get from individual tools alone. It helps us identify opportunities, understand competitor activity, monitor technical issues and track whether our SEO/AEO activity is actually improving visibility.

The biggest benefit is having reliable data in one place to make better-informed decisions about where to focus our time and resources. It also gives us metrics and competitor insights that would be difficult to obtain reliably elsewhere, helping us demonstrate the value and ROI of our SEO investment.
