## Semrush Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful agency SEO tool that earns its place, but report limits hold it back.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel T. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The Listing Management tool does something I genuinely need as an agency owner, which is giving me one place to push and monitor business listings across multiple clients without jumping between platforms. When a client has inconsistent NAP data across directories, being able to correct it from one dashboard instead of hunting down every citation manually is a real time saver. The concept is solid and for local SEO clients it is a feature I come back to regularly.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

here updates I pushed did not sync correctly across directories and tracking down where the disconnect happened ended up taking more time than just fixing the listings manually would have. For a tool that is supposed to simplify citation management, that is a frustrating experience. The reporting side also needs work. Knowing a listing exists is one thing. Understanding whether it is actually driving visibility or impacting local rankings is what I need to justify the cost to clients. The data it surfaces right now does not go deep enough to be truly actionable.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing local SEO across multiple clients means keeping track of business listings on dozens of directories for each one. Without a centralized tool that would be an enormous manual lift. Listing Management solves that problem in theory by centralizing everything and letting me push updates across directories from one place. When it works correctly it saves real time, especially during onboarding when a new client has citations all over the place with inconsistent information. The benefit is efficiency. Instead of auditing and correcting every directory one by one, I can get a client's listing health in order faster and move on to higher-value strategy work. The potential is there, it just needs to be more reliable before I would fully depend on it across all my client accounts.

  ### 2. Effortless Competitor Analysis, Aids in Dominating Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas F. | Engineering Manager - UK, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Why Semrush is My Competitive Edge
1. Competitive Intelligence & Strategy
The core value of Semrush for me is the unrivaled insight into competitor targeting.
• The "Why": It reveals exactly which keywords the competition is banking on.
• The Impact: It removes the guesswork from my strategy. Without these insights, "dominating the competition" would be nearly impossible. It provides a roadmap that I simply wouldn't have access to otherwise.
2. Precision Tracking
The data quality stands out significantly, especially when compared to tools I’ve used in the past.
• Position Tracking: It’s my go-to for monitoring where I stand in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) in real-time.
• Data Accuracy: The tracking data is noticeably superior, providing a more reliable picture of my SEO performance.
3. Seamless User Experience
Semrush manages to pack a massive amount of power into a very accessible interface.
• Easy Setup: The step-by-step onboarding is a game changer. It ensures the tool is configured correctly from day one so I can get the most out of my daily routine.
• Ease of Use: Despite its complexity, the platform feels intuitive and straightforward to navigate.
4. Workflow Integration
It’s the "little things" that make the biggest difference in productivity.
• Email Updates: Instead of having to log in and hunt for changes, the automated email reports bring the most important data directly to my inbox.
• Convenience: This automation makes maintaining a high-level SEO strategy feel effortless rather than like a chore.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Areas for Improvement
1. Advanced Competitor Comparison
While Semrush is excellent at tracking individual competitors, there is a desire for more robust, side-by-side comparison features.
• The Goal: To have a more streamlined way to benchmark multiple rivals simultaneously against your own metrics without jumping between different modules.
2. Brand-Aware Keyword Filtering
One of the main pain points is the manual effort required to sift through irrelevant data.
• The Issue: The tool sometimes picks up "bad" or irrelevant keywords that don't align with your specific brand identity.
• The Solution: A more intelligent, "trainable" AI that learns your brand’s niche. By understanding what your brand is (and what it isn't), Semrush could automatically filter out low-value or off-brand keywords, saving you significant cleanup time.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: Operating in a "Strategic Vacuum"
Without data, you’re guessing what your audience wants and what your competitors are up to.
• The Benefit: Semrush provides Competitive Transparency. It identifies the exact keywords and "winning techniques" your rivals use. By seeing their roadmap, you can leapfrog the "trial and error" phase and move straight to strategies that are already proven to work.
2. Problem: The "Keyword Needle in a Haystack"
Finding high-value keywords manually is nearly impossible given the billions of search queries generated every day.
• The Benefit: Through Keyword Analysis, Semrush uncovers "low-hanging fruit"—keywords with high search volume but low competition. This allows you to focus your energy on content that actually moves the needle, rather than wasting time on terms that are too competitive or irrelevant.
3. Problem: Ranking Blindness
SEO is a moving target; you can be #1 today and #10 tomorrow without knowing why.
• The Benefit: Position Tracking provides a real-time leaderboard. You don't have to manually search Google every morning to see where you stand. It gives you an early warning system; if your rankings dip, you know immediately and can react before the loss impacts your revenue.
4. Problem: Information Overload & Time Scarcity
Managing a full SEO suite can feel like a second full-time job.
• The Benefit: Automated Convenience. The ease of use and step-by-step setup ensure you don't need a PhD in data science to get started. Furthermore, the email updates act like a personal assistant, filtering the most critical insights and delivering them to your inbox so you can stay informed while focusing on other parts of your business.

  ### 3. SEMRush Delivers Excellent Performance and Strong Competitor Analysis Tools

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy H. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Some of the competitor analysis tools in SEMRush are very good. The UI/UX is good, though can seem a little overwhelming at times. It integrates with Google GA4 and Search Console for more clarityof data and they are doing more with AI tracking as time goes on. Performance of the platform in terms of speed and ability is excellent, and it seems to be the go-to platform for most agencies. Basic pricing is in line with or slightly higher than many other commercial SEO/Audit products, and the sign-up/on-boarding process is fairly simple to get started, but once in there are a lot more integrations and settings you can use.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I have 2 main issues with SEMRush:
1. The platform, though extensive can feel overwhelming and not always that intuative, when compared to some other audit software tools I use, and I simply found myself using the other tools more.
2. The price is in the higher tiers of SEO/Audit tools, and I simply can't justify the monthlies of this and all other tools I use.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The competitor analysis is excellent, once you get your head around how to use it, and the AI analysis is making me think again about how best to approach SEO to best benefit my clients.

  ### 4. The Ultimate SEO Toolkit with Unmatched Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haley C. | Founder / Marketing Strategist , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is the ultimate SEO tool, I was using Mangools before and it gave me very few features. Semrush, has so many features both SEO keyword related and with keyword review for GEO, AEO, and SEO. The tool is also very easy to use and they even offer customer support training sessions that I have been able to attend. Semrush has been a tool that immediately I implemented into my business to assist my customers, I use this tool daily. I was also able to integrate it into our systems immediately. The price is a bit expensive and I am curious with Adobe buying out them if it will rise. For Performance, it works pretty smoothly. The AI tool for blog writing is not accurate and has gone down in the past couple of months.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

As of right now, there are not dislikes I have encountered with SemRush, just their AI tools which I feel like they have gone downhill a bit.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is solving the problem I had with accurate keyword research. After implementing this my customers are ranking organically for keywords Semrush helped me find using their tool that showed me the low hanging fruit keywords. This is benefiting me because my customers are getting so much organic traffic.

  ### 5. Semrush’s Keyword Gap and Research Tools Are Essential for SEO

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell O. | VP Of Sales and Acquisition, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush has become an essential part of our SEO workflow, and what we value most is the depth and reliability of the keyword research and gap analysis tools. The keyword gap feature in particular has been invaluable for identifying terms our competitors are ranking for that we are not, giving us a clear roadmap for content and optimization opportunities we might otherwise have missed. The keyword research data is extensive and the ability to filter by intent, difficulty, and volume makes it easy to prioritize which terms are worth pursuing. The organic research tools also give us strong visibility into how our own rankings are trending over time and where we have room to grow.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest frustration with Semrush is the cost, particularly for smaller teams that only need a subset of the features the platform offers. The pricing tiers can feel steep and some of the more advanced features are locked behind higher plans that are difficult to justify unless you are using the full suite regularly. The sheer volume of tools and data available can also feel overwhelming at times, and navigating to the specific features you need most requires some familiarity with the platform before it becomes second nature. Keyword volume and traffic estimates can also occasionally feel inflated compared to what we see in Google Search Console, which requires some calibration when making decisions based on the data.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves the problem of understanding the competitive search landscape and identifying where our organic growth opportunities lie. Before having a dedicated SEO tool, keyword research was time consuming and fragmented, making it difficult to prioritize content efforts or understand how we stacked up against competitors in search. The keyword gap analysis has been particularly beneficial, giving us a structured way to identify content and optimization opportunities based on what competitors are already ranking for. The biggest overall benefit has been the ability to make SEO decisions backed by real data rather than guesswork, which has made our content and optimization efforts significantly more focused and effective.

  ### 6. Semrush: An All-in-One SEO Powerhouse for Keyword Research and Content Planning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc A. | Manager, Writing and Editing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is how all-in-one it is for SEO and digital marketing. It makes keyword research, competitor analysis, and site audits really straightforward, even if you’re not an expert. I also like how detailed the data is, especially for tracking rankings and finding content opportunities. It’s a tool I keep coming back to when planning and optimizing content.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

What I dislike about Semrush is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many tools and features. The pricing can also be a bit high for beginners or small creators who are just starting out. Once you get used to it, though, it becomes much easier to navigate and use effectively.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps solve the problem of figuring out what content to create and how to improve visibility on search engines. It makes keyword research, competitor analysis, and SEO optimization much more accessible in one place.

For me, it saves a lot of time when planning content for my website by showing what people are actually searching for and how competitive those topics are. This helps me create more focused, high-intent content that has a better chance of ranking and reaching the right audience.

  ### 7. Semrush Makes AEO Easy with a User-Friendly Tool and Helpful Content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kokolina P. | Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

We’ve been playing around with AEO since the second half of last year, and Semrush has been a huge help for us. It’s been great to see their AEO functionality actively evolving alongside our own skills as we figure out what “proper” AEO actually looks like in practice. The interface is also as user-friendly as ever, which makes it easy to jump in and get to work without friction.

Beyond the tool itself, they’ve also started producing a lot of genuinely relevant blog content on AEO since last year. It does a nice job of breaking down which factors really matter and which things you can safely ignore. I’d encourage anyone using Semrush for AEO to check out those posts. And while I haven’t looked yet, I suspect there are probably some solid materials on this in the Semrush Academy as well.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The main downside for us right now is that their production pace and updates don’t move quite as fast as they could. The AI search landscape is changing overnight, and we expect new features to roll out a bit sooner to keep up with the trend. Because of that slight lag in capabilities, we currently have to use two completely different platforms at the same time to get everything we need done. For example, we rely on a tool called Profound alongside Semrush to fill in the gaps, which can be frustrating when, ideally, you just want a single platform to handle your entire workflow.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a consulting firm, we use it to solve problems on two levels. First, it helps us with prompt research: figuring out the exact wording people use and tracking how our competitors are performing inside the LLMs compared with our own situation. Second, we take those same insights and apply them for our clients, using the tool to recommend the same methodology we’re already using successfully for ourselves.

  ### 8. Good all-in-one tool, but data accuracy needs improvement

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Smit D. | SEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like about Semrush is that it covers multiple use cases in one platform. I mainly use it for keyword research, basic site audits, and tracking positions.

The interface is also quite easy to navigate compared to other SEO tools, which makes it helpful for quick checks and reporting.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest issue for me is data accuracy. In many cases, keyword data and traffic estimates feel inconsistent, especially when compared with Ahrefs.

Because of this, I don’t fully trust the numbers for decision-making and usually cross-check important keywords elsewhere.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me get a quick overview of keywords, rankings, and basic site issues without using multiple tools.

However, for deeper analysis and more accurate data, I still rely on Ahrefs. So for me, Semrush works more as a supporting tool rather than the primary one.

  ### 9. Accelerates SEO Strategy with Actionable Insights and Powerful Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irakli A. | Head of SEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most about Semrush is how quickly it helps you move from thinking, “I think this is the problem,” to knowing exactly what to do next. Working with keywords makes it easy to go from a broad topic to a focused list of target queries, showing intent, difficulty, and real chances to rank. This way, you avoid wasting time on keywords that don’t matter. For competitor research, it clearly shows what’s bringing traffic to other sites right now, down to specific pages and keyword groups, so you can build your strategy faster and with more confidence. On the technical side, the Site Audit is useful because it gives you a clear list of fixes you can give to developers and then track improvements over time. The reporting is also helpful if you manage several projects, since you can show progress in a way that clients and non-SEO team members can easily understand, without needing a long explanation.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Semrush can sometimes feel overwhelming. With so many tools and tabs, it’s easy to get lost clicking around instead of focusing on your tasks, especially if you don’t use it daily.

The numbers can be a bit unreliable. Keyword volumes, difficulty scores, traffic estimates, and backlink metrics are all just estimates. If you treat them as exact, you might make mistakes. I find Semrush most helpful for spotting opportunities and patterns, then double-checking important decisions in Search Console, GA4, and real search results.

Position Tracking can become costly and tricky when you use it on a large scale. If you track many keywords across different locations or devices, you might reach your limits quickly. The backlink data is good, but it’s not always up-to-date or complete for every niche, so you may notice some gaps compared to other link tools.

For technical SEO, the Site Audit tool is useful, but it sometimes flags too many issues or treats rare cases as urgent. You still need an experienced person to decide what really affects rankings and revenue.

The content recommendations are a good starting point, but if you follow them too closely, you might end up with content that sounds like everyone else’s. It’s better to use them as a guide and aim for something more original.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves three big problems for me: finding the best keywords and content opportunities, understanding what competitors are winning with, and turning technical SEO into a clear fix list. It benefits me by saving time, helping me prioritize the right actions, and making reporting to clients and teams much easier.

  ### 10. All-in-One SEO Tool That Simplifies Strategy & Execution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mamta A. | Sr. SEO Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

From keyword research and competitor analysis to site audits and rank tracking, it saves a lot of time by eliminating the need to switch between multiple tools. The keyword data is quite reliable, and the ability to analyze competitor strategies - especially their top-performing pages and keywords - helps in planning more effective SEO campaigns.

The Site Audit feature is another highlight, as it clearly identifies technical issues and prioritizes them, making it easier to take action. I also find the Position Tracking tool very useful for monitoring performance trends and reporting to clients.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

One of the main drawbacks of Semrush is its pricing, which can be quite high, especially for smaller teams or individual users.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves the problem of managing multiple SEO tasks across different tools by bringing everything—keyword research, competitor analysis, site audits, and tracking—into one platform. It helps me quickly identify opportunities, fix technical issues, and make data-driven decisions. This improves efficiency and makes it easier to drive and report organic growth.

  ### 11. Semrush Made Local Listings Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barringer B. | Head of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use Semrush primarily for local listing management, and it has been an incredible tool for keeping our business information accurate and consistent across directories. The Local Listing Management feature makes it easy to update and sync our business details everywhere at once, saving a huge amount of manual effort. Managing our Google Business Profile through Semrush has been especially seamless — tracking changes, monitoring our listing health, and ensuring everything stays up to date is all in one place. The automatic review responses are timely and professional, which has been a game-changer for maintaining our online reputation without added workload. The listing tracking and ranking improvements we've seen week over week have directly contributed to growing our business. Best of all, the initial setup was quick and painless — we were up and running with no issues at all.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The only minor downside is that some features took a bit of time to find — the platform is packed with tools, so navigating it has a slight learning curve at first.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us manage our local business listings and Google Business Profile all in one place, eliminating the need to manually update information across multiple directories. It also takes the pressure off responding to reviews by automating that process professionally and promptly. The result is improved local search rankings week over week, which has directly helped grow our business.

  ### 12. All-in-One SEO Tool That Saves Time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** haylie C. | Marketing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Honestly, the biggest thing is how much time it saves. Being able to handle SEO, listings, and competitor research all in one platform just makes everything way more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Pricing can be a bit steep, especially for smaller teams or businesses that may not use every feature. It would be nice to have more flexible pricing based on actual usage.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Semrush, we struggled with keeping our business listings consistent across different platforms and tracking our local SEO performance in one place. A lot of the work was manual, updating directories one by one, double-checking information, and not always knowing where we stood against competitors.

Since implementing Semrush, we’re able to manage listings, track keyword rankings, and monitor visibility all in one platform. This has streamlined a lot of our processes and made it much easier to identify issues and opportunities quickly.

As a result, we’ve saved several hours each week on manual updates, reduced inconsistencies across listings, and improved our local search visibility by staying more proactive with updates and optimization.

  ### 13. Great SEO Insights, but Extra Costs and Navigation Issues Hold It Back

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John P. | Digital Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

It gives me a lot of insights and helps me track my progress in SEO in a clear, intuitive way. Support works good with a dedicated customer success manager. It has AI features that give a decent review of each account, but could be improved. Performance wise it's ok. It allows for integrations, but those are not needed for a good experience.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Having to pay extra for almost every new feature added, and how navigation is structured. It's easy to get lost in the UI. Some pages open into a new window for no apparent reason.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me prioritise what actions to take for our SeO clients in a great way and shows us where the low hanging fruit are. This makes it easy to get traction early.

  ### 14. Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit Keeps Us Proactive as Search Evolves

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Louis R. | Director, Web, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What stands out most is how Semrush is evolving beyond traditional SEO into AI visibility. The AI Visibility toolkit gives us a clearer picture of how our content is being surfaced in emerging search experiences, which is critical right now. It’s helped us stay proactive instead of reactive as search behavior shifts.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The platform can feel a bit dense, especially with newer features layered in. There’s a learning curve to fully understand which insights are most actionable versus exploratory. Streamlining the UI or offering clearer prioritization would make it easier to move faster.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is helping us solve for discoverability in a fragmented search landscape. It’s not just about rankings anymore, it’s about being present in AI-driven answers and recommendations. That visibility is directly influencing how we structure content, which is leading to more targeted traffic and better alignment with user intent.

  ### 15. Comprehensive SEO Solution Packed with Powerful Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bek D. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The scope of the software - it has so many different tools and features, for all different aspects of an SEO campaign. It's an end-to-end solution, where many of the competing tools only look at a small area of SEO.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The huge range of tools does mean that it can take you a bit of time to get your head around it all. I've been using the software for at least 5 years now, and I'm always discovering more tools and features. It can be a bit overwhelming at first.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an end-to-end SEO solution - so instead of having a tech stack of a dozen plus tools and dashboards, I have one tool that I need to log into. It means my data and metrics are consistent, I only pay one subscription cost etc. It is saving me time, and sanity.

  ### 16. Comprehensive SEO Tool with Excellent Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob B. | PRESIDENT -- GeoTargeting Expert | Mobile Marketing Influencer | SEO Guru | Best Selling Author, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really like that Semrush not only gives us the details of the shortcomings of the website but also provides guidance on how to improve those issues. We love it from the sales standpoint because it gives us an edge to stand out from other competitors when pitching to new SEO clients. The initial setup was very easy, and it gives handy tips along the way so that you can really teach yourself how to use it effectively.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Well, the pricing is a little higher than we would like on Semrush. That's for sure, especially if you get a lot of different clients. So, some quantified, larger scale pricing would be helpful.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush provides great data to pinpoint website optimization issues and offers solutions to fix them, which is really helpful.

**Official Response from Semrush:**

> Hi Bob, thank you for sharing your review! Your feedback is much appreciated. Let us know if you face any problems with our Listing Management tool - we'll assist. We're happy to know you enjoy our tools!

  ### 17. Easy Keyword & Competitor Research with Powerful AI Prompt Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditee k. | Sr. Digital Marketer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like how easily I can do keyword research, and the new AI prompt research tool helps a lot in this AI era for search engines.

Competitor analysis is also very straightforward. I can quickly find backlink gaps, keyword gaps, or even keywords for any specific page. The content tool helps a lot with optimization as well.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

It’s a little expensive for an individual user, and it would be more helpful if add-ons were included in the plan itself.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem it solves for me is competitor analysis, helping me find gaps in backlinks, referring domains, and keywords. Another area where it’s useful is content optimization, including a blog topic analyzer and topic finder. Overall, it helps us save a lot of time.

  ### 18. Comprehensive SEO Toolkit with Insightful Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nariman H. | Growth Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most about Semrush is honestly the amount of data it gives you. The keyword tools like Keyword Magic and Keyword Overview are really helpful when you are trying to find question-type searches, long tail stuff, or just gaps in content you can target.

I also use it a lot for competitor research. It makes it pretty easy to see what other sites are doing and how they structure their content to show up in search results. Looking at things like featured snippets, PAA questions, and search intent changes has been really useful for planning content.

The site audit and on-page SEO tools are also solid. They help catch issues pretty quickly and make sure pages are actually ready to rank. Overall it just saves a lot of time compared to trying to piece all this together from different tools.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest downside is probably the price. It is a really powerful tool but it can get expensive, especially for small teams or solo people. Once you start adding more users or projects the cost can go up pretty fast.

Another thing is the learning curve. There are so many features that it can take a while to figure out what you actually need and where everything is. When you first start using it the interface can feel a bit overwhelming tbh.

Once you get used to it though it becomes easier, but the beginning can be a bit confusing.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Honestly Semrush helps me figure out what people are actually searching for instead of guessing. I use it a lot to find high-intent and question type queries, especially ones related to AEO.

It is also really useful for checking competitors and seeing why their content ranks for certain queries. Sometimes you notice things about how they structure their pages or answer questions that you would not have thought about otherwise.

  ### 19. Powerful All-in-One SEO Suite, But Pricing Adds Up for SMEs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anish S. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The ability to have so many tools under one space and also the data accuracy of Semrush is really great, the user interface is okay for someone technical, I have not used integrations to different tools a lot

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The price is the biggest barrier to entry, and I think this is where SEMrush falls short. I know it offers a lot of features, but the pricing is still too high for an SME, and on top of that, each additional tool comes with an extra cost.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is really good at analyzing our company’s organic growth and showing how we’re performing compared to competitors. The new AI impressions dashboard is great too, because it lets us see how many mentions we’re getting from AI chats and track that more clearly.

  ### 20. Semrush Turns Data Into Context You Can Act On

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara F. | SEO Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What keeps me coming back is the rabbit hole it lets you go down — and the number of features is exactly what makes that rabbit hole so deep. I'll start by checking one keyword and two hours later I've mapped out an entire content strategy using tools I didn't even know Semrush had. The data doesn't just tell you what's happening, it tells you WHY your traffic dropped on a Tuesday, why a competitor suddenly blew up, why a page that should be ranking isn't. Every single one of those answers lives inside a different feature, and they all connect. Other tools give you numbers. Semrush gives you context — and an entire arsenal to act on it.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

There's so much you can do that sometimes you just don't know where to start. It's like walking into a huge buffet when you're starving — everything looks good and you end up standing there longer than you should. I wish the interface made it a little easier to discover features you didn't even know existed, because I guarantee most people are sitting on tools that could change their business and they just haven't found them yet.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wasted spend and missed opportunities — that's what Semrush fixed for me. I used to push content that had no real chance of ranking and ignore keywords that were practically begging to be owned. Now I can see the gap between where I am and where I should be, and more importantly, exactly how to close it. My content hits harder, my strategy is tighter, and I'm not leaving easy wins on the table anymore.

  ### 21. All-in-One SEO Powerhouse That Simplifies Strategy and Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prashant S. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I appreciate most about Semrush is how it consolidates everything in one platform, transforming SEO from a process of guesswork into a straightforward, actionable system. I rely on it to generate content ideas driven by SEO, optimize on-page elements, conduct website audits, and track both performance and competitors over time. The auditing and tracking tools are especially useful for identifying issues early, and the reporting features make it simple to communicate SEO progress in a way that stakeholders can easily grasp.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

What I find challenging about Semrush is that it can be both overwhelming and costly, particularly if you don't require all of its features. While some reports provide in-depth information, they often still require manual analysis to identify clear priorities. For smaller teams, the learning curve can be quite steep. Additionally, I’ve noticed that many advanced features and access to historical data are restricted to higher-tier plans, which reduces flexibility unless you choose to upgrade.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush addresses the challenge of making SEO a structured, data-driven process rather than relying on trial and error. It assists me in planning SEO content by helping select the right keywords, mapping content and keywords to specific pages, and providing ongoing monitoring of both website and technical SEO. This allows me to spot issues that could affect rankings at an early stage. As a result, I benefit from clearer priorities, more effectively optimised content, fewer technical oversights, and SEO efforts that are simpler to track, report on, and refine over time.

  ### 23. Feature-Rich, In-Depth Insights That Make SEO and AIO Easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kendal R. | Brand and Content Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMrush offers a wide range of features and add-ons that make it easier to execute comprehensive SEO and AIO strategies, even with just one or two people doing the work. The insights are so in-depth that they create ongoing opportunities to keep creating, refining, and optimizing our content across the website, blogs, and beyond. I use it daily, and it integrates smoothly into my marketing workflows without adding friction. There are free training sessions every week and the customer support chatbot answers most of my questions with ease.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

SEMrush gives me a ton of information—almost more than I know what to do with—so I’d appreciate better prioritization across its recommendations. I also find the UX/UI a bit confusing at times, and the navigation isn’t always intuitive despite using it extensively. I also seek more clarity on ensuring that our content doesn't get flagged as keyword stuffing, now that SEMrush has AI-driven content creation.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush helps me build in-depth topic clusters, identify gaps in our coverage and AI visibility, and track our keyword rankings and performance week to week. I especially like the Content add-on because it makes the process of optimizing long-form content really clear and straightforward.

  ### 24. Semrush Powers Our Agency’s SEO & Paid Media Success

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While Semrush is incredibly comprehensive, the learning curve for new team members can feel steep due to the wide range of features.

Some reports also take time to load if pulling large data sets. That said, the depth of insights more than makes up for it, and the support resources are very helpful.

  ### 25. Comprehensive SEO Tool, But Pricing Needs Attention

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adi U. | Founder and Chief Problem Solver, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I need Semrush for SEO purposes in my agency. I like tracking keywords for each website and keeping track of them, especially seeing the backlinks and comparing the website I'm working on with the competition. This is what I like the most. I find it a complete solution that doesn't stop with organic traffic but also covers pay-per-click traffic. The initial setup was really easy, and it's a well-developed tool.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I don't like the pricing; it's very high and everything feels like an extra cost. They charged me for overspending when I was just making a few tests and not even using it for my own clients. The cost unexpectedly shot up to about $450 one month instead of the usual $240 or $249, and this was not communicated, which was not nice at all.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for tracking keywords and backlinks for each website, and I like comparing the website I'm working on with the competition. It's a complete solution covering both organic and pay-per-click traffic.

  ### 26. Powerful All-in-One SEO Suite, but Paywalls and Navigation Can Frustrate

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is an all-in-one tool for everything SEO and marketing. The keyword research tool easily allows me to see things like search volume and keyword difficulty. Domain overview shows me a site's authority score and backlinks. It also has a new feature that lets me see how we are ranking on AI search engines like ChatGPT all at a fairly reasonable price.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Some features are hidden behind paywalls even though other services include them in their base plans. I’ve also noticed that the search volume numbers sometimes differ from what I see on other platforms. And while it offers a lot of features overall, that can make it harder at times to quickly find what you’re looking for.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can integrate it with my various marketing channels and Google Search Console to see exactly how each one is performing in terms of ROI. It also helps me optimize by pausing low-performing keywords, and it suggests new ones with the Keyword Magic Tool. Its SEO tools help me understand what content to write so I can reach our target market. On top of that, it helps me source backlinks to improve our domain authority score all at a reasonable price. The support is also helpful when you have a dedicated account rep.

  ### 27. Transforms SEO Analysis, Easy to Set Up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alec R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really appreciate Semrush for making a manual job seamless by automatically handling keyword and backlink analysis. It's excellent for competitive gap analysis and solves most of my problems from a content and digital PR perspective, especially for SEO. I find the keyword gap analysis particularly valuable, as it flags similar keywords between my site and competitors and identifies opportunities easily. Semrush presents everything in a simple Excel sheet, making it easy to digest and act on. Additionally, the platform is really strong for tracking backlinks over time, allowing me to monitor progress efficiently. The initial setup was really easy with great support from the Semrush team, who set up the platform well.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

From a technical perspective, I find Semrush really challenging. I don't feel like it crawls sites well or spits out valuable insights that allow us to make changes. Also, I feel the UX is a little sticky and could be improved.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves most of my content and digital PR problems from an SEO perspective, especially keyword gap analysis. It flags similar and missing keywords from competitor sites, making manual tasks seamless and helping identify opportunity areas.

  ### 28. Semrush Makes Website Traffic, Keywords, and Competitor Tracking Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vansh J. | Counselling Psychology Courses, E-Learning, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I continuously use this tool for tracking and analysis of websites. Semrush shows the total traffic of a website, indicating when traffic goes up or down, how many keywords appear in search results with their positions, and what types of keywords our competitors use. I also analyze our competitors’ backlinks, keywords, and ranking positions. This tool is very helpful for website users and SEO executives.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I think i dont see there any dislike point on this tool because i can use this since 2016.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There was already enough feature for me, if possible to add keyword research feature to comparing to competitor, so user can easily target a keyowrd on website.

  ### 29. Comprehensive All-in-One SEO Platform with Powerful Keyword & Competitor Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishnu G. | SEO Analyst, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most about Semrush is how comprehensive it is as an all-in-one SEO and digital marketing platform. From keyword research and competitor analysis to site audits, backlink tracking, and content optimization, everything is available in one place. The keyword database is extensive and reliable, especially for competitive analysis, and tools like Keyword Gap and Position Tracking are extremely helpful for planning and measuring SEO strategies. The interface is intuitive once you get used to it, and the reports are client-friendly and easy to export.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While Semrush is powerful, it can feel overwhelming for new users because of the sheer number of features and data points. Some metrics, especially traffic and keyword volume estimates, should be used directionally rather than taken as absolute numbers. The pricing can also be high for freelancers or small businesses, and certain advanced features are locked behind higher-tier plans. Additionally, site audit recommendations sometimes require manual validation, as not all suggestions are equally critical.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps solve key SEO and digital marketing challenges such as identifying high-impact keywords, understanding competitor strategies, fixing technical SEO issues, and tracking performance over time. It eliminates guesswork by providing data-driven insights for content planning, backlink building, and site optimization. This benefits me by saving time on research, improving decision-making, and allowing me to build measurable, scalable SEO strategies that deliver consistent growth in organic traffic and rankings.

  ### 30. Immense Value from Market Insights and Competitive Benchmarking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris M. | Senior Digital Analytics Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

For me personally the market insights are the most valuable element. While I always take it with a degree of skeptisism having a way to compare and benchmark our performance vs the market and understand where our competitors are winning (or losing) is immensely valuable.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I find the interface can be very tricky to navigate, often even if you have the right access/license it can be hard to navigate to the area you're trying to get to. This may be easier with an enterprise license where we're only using a per user license at the moment.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The two core use cases are giving us a comparable view of competitors in the market, core KPI's around revenue as well as their channel mix from a marketing perspective which helps us understand where we're winning or losing. The second use case is more around our SEO agency having access to keyword data which they use to optimise our performance.

  ### 31. Semrush’s Deep Keyword & Competitor Insights Power Smarter SEO Strategy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** reena m. | wordpress developer, Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Keyword research depth – it reveals not only volume, but search intent, keyword difficulty, SERP features, and what competitors are already ranking for. This helps with strategy decisions.

Competitor analysis – you can see instantly what competitors rank for, their paid ads, backlinks, and content gaps. This is a huge time-saver.

Site Audit – very useful. It not only points out problems, but tells you what to fix first and why it’s important.

Backlink tools – easy to monitor new/lost backlinks, toxic backlinks, and compare backlink profiles.

Content & SEO writing tools – very useful for aligning content with search intent and preventing thin or overly optimized content.

Accurate data – not 100% (no tool is), but stable enough to make informed decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

What I do not like about Semrush is that sometimes it can be quite pricey, and some of the information, especially the keyword volume and traffic, is not always 100% correct, so you still have to check it with other software.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is the answer to the question of what to target, fix, or outperform in SEO and marketing. The tool is very beneficial to me as it helps me understand what keywords to target, what my competitors are doing better than me, and what technical problems to solve first.

  ### 32. Not suitable for solo small business owners + inflexible refund policy

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suzanne C. | Small Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is clearly a very powerful and comprehensive SEO platform. It offers an impressive range of tools and data, and I can see how it would be extremely valuable for experienced SEO professionals or teams who use it daily. The depth of features and analytics suggests it’s well-built for advanced use cases.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I resubscribed to Semrush after having used it briefly in the past when I had an assistant helping me. This time, I intended to use it myself as a solo small business owner. Within two days of resubscribing, it became very clear that I did not have the time, technical background, or bandwidth to use the platform effectively.

I contacted customer support almost immediately, explained that I had not used the tool, and asked for a refund. I was polite, transparent, and acknowledged that this was technically a resubscription, even though my previous use had been with help and this was my first attempt to use it independently.

Despite the request being made within two days, my refund was denied because the subscription was month-to-month rather than annual. The case was escalated internally and then closed as “final,” with no reconsideration possible.

While I understand companies have policies, this experience felt particularly rigid given:
	•	The extremely short timeframe (2 days)
	•	The lack of actual product use
	•	The reality that Semrush is heavily marketed to small business owners, despite having a very steep learning curve

This platform may work well for experienced SEO professionals or teams, but in my experience it is not beginner-friendly and not forgiving to solo business owners who quickly realize it’s not the right fit.

I would strongly encourage other small business owners to fully understand the refund limitations before subscribing and to be realistic about whether they truly have the time and expertise required to use this tool effectively.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is designed to solve complex SEO and digital marketing problems, such as keyword research, competitive analysis, and performance tracking at a very advanced level. While these capabilities may strongly benefit SEO professionals and agencies, they did not meaningfully benefit me as a solo small business owner. The platform requires a significant investment of time, technical knowledge, and ongoing use to translate the data into actionable outcomes, which I realized very quickly was not realistic for my situation.

  ### 33. Unmatched Database and Insight Powerhouse

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul C. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really value Semrush for its massive database and unparalleled insights into semantic keywords. It helps us make informed decisions on content and strategy. The integration into our industry is excellent, and it has a long-standing understanding of what SEO metrics are necessary. I find the dashboards user-friendly, especially for people who aren't familiar with the industry. They make it easy to understand important KPIs at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I would very much like a better streamlined experience as far as billing is concerned as there's a lot of tools on the platform. And even though it has been released, that it's still a lot to track and keep track of when there could be more clear packages.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for its massive database and insights into keywords and strategy. It solves data aggregation issues and helps us with SEO by understanding essential metrics. The dashboards are user-friendly, making it easy for those less knowledgeable in the industry to grasp important KPIs.

  ### 34. Semrush: Powerful SEO Tool with Real Data but Pricey

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Waqar H. | Search Engine Optimization Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use Semrush for keyword research and backlink analysis and find it very useful for identifying both spammy and high-quality backlinks. I like that keywords in Semrush are based on real search data, rank quickly in Google, and provide accurate traffic details. Additionally, I use Semrush for keyword and topic research, including topical authority, which helps improve my website's SEO and ranking in Google search results within one month. The initial setup is great, not too complex, making it easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I find it a bit disappointing that Semrush doesn't provide any AI searching data to check the AI search results. Also, their payments are very high, and the free searches are limited to only 10 to 50.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for keyword research and backlink analysis. It helps disavow spammy backlinks and improve SEO. Keywords based on real search data rank quickly in Google. It provides accurate traffic details I rely on to increase my website's search performance in a month.

  ### 35. SemRush: Incredible Value For Money

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron S. | Operations Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like SemRush. It has many many features and is incredible value for money. I use this for 3 of my clients and get good results. I like the layout and the features it offers.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

SemRush is a powerful tool. This can be quite daunting for first time users. I think there are ways to simply things such as Add Keywords where you are able to just add keywords., Or you can use a competition analyser to see what your competitors are using and then use those.
Can we also get something to assist in getting users up higher rankings?

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Higher rankings in search engines and being more visible in AI chats.

  ### 36. Semrush: Powerful All-in-One SEO Platform with Reliable Data and Deep Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos O. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is an extremely powerful all in one platform for SEO and answer engine optimization. It gives deep visibility into keyword opportunities, search intent, competitive gaps, and content performance. I especially value the keyword research, competitor analysis, and site audit tools, which make it easier to prioritize work that actually moves rankings and traffic. The data is reliable, the interface is well organized, and it integrates smoothly into both strategic planning and day to day execution.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest downside is the cost, especially for smaller teams or businesses just getting started. Some features also have a learning curve, and it can feel overwhelming at first because there is so much available in the platform. A bit more guidance for new users on which tools matter most by use case would be helpful.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I primarily use Semrush for Answer Engine Optimization and SEO tools, including keyword research, content optimization, competitor analysis, and technical SEO audits.

  ### 37. Semrush AI / AEO Visibility Toolkit Makes Tracking AI Mentions and Prompts Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

As a fast-paced video production crew, we’ve noticed that potential clients aren’t just doing standard Google searches for “best commercial video agency” anymore. They’re asking ChatGPT or Gemini or they’re relying on those Google AI Overviews.

What I really like about Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit is that it finally gives us a way to track whether these AI bots are actually mentioning our agency or citing our case studies. Instead of flying blind, we can check our brand visibility score and see which prompts make our name show up. That makes it much easier to tweak our website content, because we know what questions we need to answer clearly so the AI engines pick up our information and surface it for people looking for top-tier video work.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest bummer is that, since Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is still a fairly new frontier, the metrics can sometimes feel a little generous or hard to treat as absolute truth. Semrush gives you a strong visibility score, but it reads more like a directional indicator than a 100% guarantee that every person typing a prompt is seeing our agency’s name in their specific generated response. It can also get pricey if your agency is just trying to dip its toes into AI search, and explaining the real ROI of “AI visibility” to the rest of the team can be a tough sell when you can’t always point to an immediate, direct sale the way you can with regular pay-per-click ads.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem this solves for us is not fading into the background in a world where AI is quickly taking over traditional web search. Before using it, we had no idea whether the major AI models even knew our video production space existed. Now, we can actively monitor our share of voice across the major AI platforms in one place. By showing us where our content is lacking and which specific questions people are asking AI, it helps us update our site with direct answers and real-world video insights that bots tend to cite. In the end, it helps future-proof our inbound marketing and brings in a steadier stream of organic leads without forcing us to pour our entire budget into paid search ads.

  ### 38. Essential SEO Tool with Room for Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julio O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I enjoy using Semrush for keyword research and viewing analytics for specific industry keywords. It helps me take strategic decisions for my SEO strategy. I appreciate its capability to reduce time by bulk searching keywords and giving visibility for each competitor and targeted keywords. I like the user interface and how it's easy to understand once I know what each tab is used for. It makes it easier for me to know exactly what I'm looking at and what steps I should take next without complicating the process.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The AI visibility tab is very restricted unless you subscribe for that expansion. It would help to have the function to view worldwide and country specific analytics for AI visibility without having to purchase that expansion.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for keyword research, analyzing competitor visibility, and strategic SEO decisions, saving time with bulk keyword searches.

  ### 39. User-Friendly with Fast Feature Shipping for AEO

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really appreciate that Semrush is always evolving and consistently shipping new features. I also like that they’re staying on the cutting edge with answer engine optimization. Feature delivery has been strong, and the platform is user-friendly, with the flexibility to pay only for the features I actually need. Semrush helps us a lot with answering machine optimization and LLM visibility through AI features like Visibility Overview, competitor research, and prompt research. It’s very easy to track what’s happening with our visibility and monitor how we’re being mentioned by major LLMs. Setup was quick and simple as well, and even the newer AEO feature was straightforward to get started with.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I’d say that, since we work a lot with a technical audience, what we’re seeing is that they use Claude and, for now, with Semrush it’s still mainly plus Gemini by Google. That said, we’d really like to see more popular LLMs included in the list. Overall, we’re looking for tools that let us work with a wider range of popular LLMs.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’ve found that Semrush helps improve AEO by analyzing search prompts, which in turn can increase LLM visibility and drive more traffic. Its AI features—such as competitor research and visibility monitoring—are especially useful for keeping an eye on key phrase popularity and tracking overall brand performance.

  ### 40. Intuitive SEO Tool with Room for Speed Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I really like that Semrush is pretty intuitive. Even today, I've never received an onboarding call, and I was able to jump in from day one and use it. It's pretty self-explanatory, whether you've used SEO before or any other SEO tools. The intuitive design allows you to look at it, learn, and just go right on. Starting with entering your website domain, the system guides you through a smart process of exploring strategies for ideas, backlink suggestions, and provides insights about technical SEO. It actually analyzes your website, talks about user experience, and suggests ways to enhance online user interaction, which is awesome. It also helps increase engagement time and provides content ideas, making it very easy to use. It's like having a personal assistant for your SEO campaigns right in your back pocket.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The speed, sometimes when you get in some of the data, you have to wait. When I'm doing multiple campaigns, sometimes I want this information, like, now. In a perfect world, we would have it very quickly. You put it in as fast as the website can load. You would like to have that information, but, I believe they'll get there someday, but it's not there now.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush saves time on campaign homework and helps strategize SEO improvements by assessing links, opportunities, and gaps, giving a competitive advantage.

  ### 41. Feature-Rich Yet Pricey for Small Businesses

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** marcel@marcelberger.cc B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I found the Rank Tracker and backlink reporting features particularly valuable. These tools were instrumental in improving my search rankings by managing backlinks effectively and analyzing competitors' strategies. The unique tools Semrush offers are a key reason why I'd consider repurchasing.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I find Semrush pricing to be quite expensive, especially for small businesses and when used across multiple domains. The initial setup was also quite complicated, which could be a barrier for new users.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used the product to leverage keywords and backlinks, improving search rankings against competitors. The rank tracker and backlink reporting were most useful for removing bad links and analyzing competitor strategies.

  ### 42. Comprehensive SEO Tool with a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sameer p. | software review, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that Semrush gives me everything I need in one place, including keyword research, site audits, and rank tracking. The Keyword Magic tool is especially helpful for finding long-tail terms and understanding search intents. I rely heavily on the domain overview and keyword gaps tools to analyze competitor performance and identify areas for improvement in my reports. The clarity of the reports saves me a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The platform has a lot of features, so it can feel overwhelming at first. It definitely takes some time to learn how to use everything effectively. Pricing is another downside. Some features are locked behind higher plans, which can be expensive for smaller teams or solo users.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for identifying the right keywords to target, tracking rankings over time, auditing website health, and analyzing competitors. It gives clear direction on improving organic visibility and optimizing marketing strategies.

  ### 43. Good for Global Marketing Insights on Paid and Organic Front - A bit Pricey

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

We extensively use it to check our competitors in different countries for SEO and SEM purposes. The only tool that can provide data at this much granularity has been Semrush. And I used other competitors in the market before.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Since new features came out - the tool kept getting more expensive with the add-ons (AI engine optimization related features etc) and what used to be included in our previous subscriptions have slowly being moved out to more expensive packages.
Another thing that would be nice is SEMrush having an MCP Server available - since they don't have it - we have to use yet another service for this even though Semrush has a much more dataset for this.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our particular global expansion scenario - it allows us to accurately evaluate competition in different countries so we can plan our pricing & marketing plans for these markets

  ### 44. Multiple Seo features in a single pack with easy to use interface.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raman K. | Intern, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

This platform has made blogging an easy task as compared to some years back. It not only provide just one or two feature but a complete pack or suite of features that can make seo optimization, keyword research, traffic analysis a game of clicks. Also i found the competitive analysis like a cherry on the cake that makes the optimization more strong so that the blog can get a top position in the search results on the search engines. I found it very easy to use as i am using it from past few months, also before joining this platform it takes much time to efficiently manage all the optimization for the blog posts, but now most of the tasks are automated and can be done with just few clicks and copy paste.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Properly using all the features requires time for a beginner so this is not a problem this is just an opinion that providing short easy courses in community can help the beginners to get the knowledge of platform from the experts and also it will also boost the knowledge of current users.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use semrush for the keyword research to get the both short tail and long tail keywords, also the best keywords that can get more reach and rank based on the locality or environment. Then i also use it to check the visibility of my website on the search engine result pages (SERP), to calculate the visibility score of the website based on performance, seo, keywords, accessibility. There are still many features that i haven't used yet but i am constantly having hands on experience on them so as to understand how they work.

  ### 45. Semrush: Powerful All-in-One Marketing Suite with Outstanding Data and Local SEO and AEO

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander R. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is an incredibly powerful all-in-one marketing suite that makes SEO and competitor analysis both efficient and enjoyable. As an agency, we particularly appreciate how seamlessly it combines keyword research, content optimization, backlink audits, and reporting in one intuitive interface. The data quality is outstanding, and the Local SEO features — including listing management and visibility tracking — have become essential for our daily operations. Semrush helps us not only deliver measurable results for clients but also identify growth opportunities we would otherwise miss.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The only real downside is that the platform can feel overwhelming for new users due to the sheer number of features. Pricing can also be a bit steep, especially when adding multiple modules or users. However, given the depth and reliability of the data, it’s still a very strong value proposition.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us centralize all aspects of AEO and SEO and local visibility management in one place. It saves enormous amounts of time by combining keyword tracking, technical audits, backlink analysis, and Local Listing Management in a single dashboard. For an agency, this means we can manage multiple client accounts efficiently, monitor their search performance, and create clear, data-backed reports that show measurable progress. The Market Intelligence tools also help us benchmark against competitors and identify strategic opportunities early on. Overall, Semrush allows us to make smarter decisions faster and deliver more value to our clients.

  ### 46. Powerful All-in-One Metrics, but Team Access and Support Need Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Lots of metrics and capabilities all in once place. Easy to see how we compare with competitors, keyword research, and AI visibility.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

It is expensive to add more teammates to SEMRush. For example, I would like my devs to have access to the site audit tool, my content marketing team to have access to keyword research. But they don't need full access to everything in the tool. I wish we could only add them to the features they need, ideally for free. It would also be great to have a way to easily export issues and turn them into tasks for my team. For example, I would like to easily forward broken link alerts to my content operations team, such as through an email alert. It would be great to connect SEMRush with the task management tools we use like Airtable and JIRA. It's also been hard to get answers to my questions about using the tool. Sometimes the representatives do not respond to my questions or answer my questions thoroughly.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Share of traffic awareness with competitors helps me report to my leadership about our SEO efforts. Keyword research helps us stay ahead of search trends with relevant content. LLM visibility is a big topic right now. The AEO reporting helps my team understand how we're showing up in LLMs.

  ### 47. Powerful Keyword Magic & Gap Tools Turn SEO Data Into Actionable Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea C. | photographer and filmmaker, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most is the Keyword Magic Tool, thanks to its unmatched database depth, along with the Keyword Gap tool, which helps reveal competitors’ strategies. Together, they turn complex data into clear, actionable insights, making it easier to prioritize high-impact SEO tasks and manage everything efficiently from a single, powerful dashboard to improve search rankings.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

What I dislike most is the high cost and the steep learning curve. The interface can be overwhelming for beginners, and a lot of essential features—such as historical data or AI writing—are locked behind expensive add-ons or higher-tier plans. On top of that, the traffic estimates for smaller websites can sometimes be inaccurate, which makes it harder to rely on the data with confidence.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush addresses the problem of fragmented data by bringing SEO, PPC, and content tools together in a single platform. It reduces guesswork by showing competitors’ strategies, flagging technical site issues, and helping uncover high-value keywords. For me, this means less time spent jumping between tools and more confidence that my marketing decisions are supported by solid data.

  ### 48. Semrush Keyword Research & Domain Overview: My Go-To Research Tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sourav S. | Digital Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The most useful feature of semrush according to me is the keyword reseaech tool and the domain overview tool which i use very frequently for my research.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While there are features I like and keep coming back to, there are a few things I find really annoying and wish Semrush would fix. One is keyword research: I’d like an extra feature that lets me research more than one keyword at a time for a local or particular location (such as a city) and still get the key metrics for that specific location, like search volume, CPC, intent, and search engine features. Another issue is competitor research: I’m not able to see any sign of ads there, even though I can see them clearly in the Ads Transparency Center.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

semrush is saving mea big time in doing research and prepar a plan based on my requirements on the basis of analysis provided.

  ### 49. Comprehensive SEO Insights and Google Listings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ariana L. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that Semrush helps us update our listings all in one spot and provides lots of SEO data that is easy to read. I appreciate that it helps you find keyword data, which is helpful for creating content. It's also nice to compare other websites and get a full site audit, which tells you what you need to fix on your website and how. The initial setup of Semrush was very easy, which made starting with it a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I don't like that Semrush shows you all the tools but you can't use some if it is not in your subscription. I wish it would only show the tools available to me.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us update our listings all in one spot, provides lots of easy-to-read SEO data, and helps with creating content using keyword data. The site audit is great for identifying and fixing website issues.

  ### 50. Semrush Makes SEO and Competitor Research Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manit A. | Digital Marketing Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I’ve been using Semrush for a while now, mainly for SEO and competitor research, and it’s become one of those tools I keep coming back to. The keyword research is very solid. It’s easy to see search volume, difficulty, and intent all in one place.
Competitor analysis is a big win. You can quickly understand what others in your niche are ranking for and where their traffic is coming from. You can easily integrate with other tools that can help you in building the ecosystem. Implemented in my organization and we are using it very frequently

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Some data isn’t always 100% accurate, so you still need to use judgment rather than relying blindly on the numbers.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves the problem of not knowing why the site is not performing. It gives keyword research, SEO audit competitor insights and content ideas in one platform
