For us being a group of schools and being a relatively small team, it was important for us to have a platform that made delivering certificate based Wi-Fi simple, even though our needs were complex. SecureW2 was able to handle every scenario we had, from simple multi-platform BYOD onboarding of devices to the Wi-Fi, where the process is tailored per operating system, all the way through to being able to integrate multiple JamF Pro instances, and other MDM platforms. The support team were fantastic to work with from day 1, they guided us through the whole process of configuring all of our complex network based policies, and making sure that everything worked for our needs. Being that it is an end to end solution handling both PKI, Policies and Radius, it has provided excellent value for money, compared to having to stitch together our own solution and having to host it, as well as not having to rely so much on internal expertise within our team. I think it might be purely just the nature of hosting a RADIUS server using a cloud service, but their is more latency with time to connect versus having this with an on-prem product. Having said that, the trade off is still worth it for us, with not having to manage the infrastructure to run this, and provides a much simpler and more scalable platform. I know they've just announced an on prem node you can deploy that sync seamlessly into the ecosystem, so I guess that might solve the RADIUS latency. Will have to wait and see.
