What do you like best about Scrivener?

The ability to collect all the research for a novel and have it right at your fingertips as you write. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scrivener?

I feel a bit like a Neanderthal lighting a fire by rubbing Bic Lighters together. The software is clearly able to do far far more than I need (or indeed understand). I feel guilty for not using it to its full potential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Scrivener:

Take your time and read the manual at least until you find out what Scrivener can do for you and the work you do. It's a Ferrari but you may well need to drive it like a Kia Soul. Don't worry about that, once you learn the things YOU need, it's a godsend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Scrivener solving and how is that benefiting you?

I write many different books at a time: my personal books that can take a long time to write, commercial books that need to be done very quickly, genre books where the research is used over and over again, etc. The ability to put all this into a tight .zip and re-start a month or a year later is invaluable.
