First time using it to stay connected with my child being in school in this era, this is great to have. **What do you dislike about SchoolMessenger School Notification?** no specific comment, I think School Messenger is great **What problems is SchoolMessenger School Notification solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am not too sure what kind of problems, I haven't experience a problem yet using this app on my phone. ### 2. Direct syncing allows us always to have the most accurate student contact data necessary for making mass phone calls and emails for general and emergency use purposes. **What do you dislike about SchoolMessenger School Notification?** We pre-record many of our mass phone calls in a third-party application. The third-party applications allow us to adjust for clarity and length. Occasionally, these messages exceed file size limits to upload to SchoolMessenger and require added time to trim and compress the files to be usable on the mass phone call. **What problems is SchoolMessenger School Notification solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggest things we have solved with SchoolMessenger is sending secure documents to individual students through their Secure Document Delivery feature. This feature allows us to send quarterly report cards. Electronic report cards eliminate staff hours and paper usage that would typically happen with printed report cards. We also use secure document delivery to send passes and other forms of direct mailing that generally would have gone out as hard-copy. ### 3. The advanced reporting also allows you to see if messages go through to all your contacts and shows you the issues if they have not. like bad numbers or emails **What do you dislike about SchoolMessenger School Notification?** There has not been much to dislike as the program keep growing and advancing as the overall industry and needs change in regards to communication as a whole. There has not been to much advancement in the base product in a long time. It's nice to deal with just one vendor instead of two or three. **What do you dislike about SchoolMessenger School Notification?** Some of their products are not very user intuitive. Also, the customer service is lacking. When my school district ordered a custom app, it took more than six months to build, and it was still wrong when the company said it was finished. **Recommendations to others considering SchoolMessenger School Notification:** Please research the other options that are available. The app is simple to download and navigate which is so important. This reduces the amount of questions that come up which gives teachers one less thing to worry about. **What do you dislike about SchoolMessenger School Notification?** Although user friendly, this app lacks in features. There is no way for a patent to initiate a private chat with a teacher. Because of this, the teacher must private message each parent in order to initiate that with each which is very time consuming. It's also irritating to not have search tool and have to scroll way back to see old messages. **Recommendations to others considering SchoolMessenger School Notification:** This app is very secure so that is the biggest reason we switched to it. If using this app do make sure to have the teachers initiate private messaging with each parent right away. I'm confident once you get used to it you will like it. **What problems is SchoolMessenger School Notification solving and how is that benefiting you?** This tool is certainly not the best but for the price point it is the best solution for us at the time. It comes down to a choice of a program with less security and better features or this. Much is still to be desired but it is still in it's early stages. I feel like this app has a lot of potential. ### 7. We send out messages to the whole school, individuals, and specific groups of students. **What do you dislike about SchoolMessenger School Notification?** The interface is not very user-friendly at first. However, over the years, they have worked on updating the system. It looks better, but to a new user, it is a bit difficult to maneuver. However, the good news is that customer service is always available to assist. **What problems is SchoolMessenger School Notification solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is our number one communication system at my school. Parents know they will receive an update on their child's attendance before the day is over - whether their child is absent, present, tardy, on a field trip, excused, etc. ### 8. We had a contract with them for 11 years. It has been used successfully by other large school districts. **What do you dislike about SchoolMessenger School Notification?** poor customer service, data integration, data breaches **Recommendations to others considering SchoolMessenger School Notification:** Look at what the product can offer and see if it stands up to competitors. Ask other districts about their experiences. Most importantly, really do your homework on the customer service offered by SchoolMessenger. I found it to be almost non-existent until I googled the CEO and CFO, figured out their email addresses, and emailed them. Also look closely at their contract. Despite a data breach, you have to look at the cost of litigation as well. Just do your homework well. Its low cost - you get what you pay for. **What problems is SchoolMessenger School Notification solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used it to solve home/school communication issues. It was reliable with good service for the first 11 years of the contract. In year 12, they didn't properly pull the data from our SIS and released confidential information to parents in our 30,000 student district. ### 9. It's great to be able to send merged documents this way, but I wish I could create templates myself rather than wait for someone in support to do so on my behalf. I also don't like that I can't see a preview of the merged document emails as our parents will see them prior to sending. It makes me nervous every time I send something that I don't have 100% assurance of how the emails will appear to the recipient. **What problems is SchoolMessenger School Notification solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have individual access codes that need to be sent to each parent for a variety of products. Being able to send merged documents with this information has become a huge timesaver. ### 10.
