The standout feature for me in SAP PowerDesigner is how smoothly it handles complex data modeling and reverse engineering. When I’m working with heavy enterprise databases, being able to move back and forth between conceptual, logical, and physical models without losing sync saves a lot of headaches. On top of that, importing an existing database and generating an automatic physical model eliminates hours of manual charting and helps keep everything accurate and consistent. The biggest challenge for me is the UI and the learning curve. Even though it’s extremely powerful for backend work, the interface feels rigid and a bit old-school compared with newer developer tools. It also takes a fair amount of time to get comfortable with all the configuration options. And since it’s heavy, enterprise-grade software, it can sometimes feel sluggish—or simply like overkill—when you’re working on smaller-scale setups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
