What do you like best about Salesmate?

I love how flexible the custom fields and built-in activity timeline in Salesmate fit our insurance admin work at SafeGuard Insurance Group. I can create custom fields to track policy numbers, carrier names like Nationwide, coverage limits, renewal dates, and the status of intake forms submitted through Formeer, all without needing to reach out to our IT team or learn complicated code. The activity timeline is the feature that saves me the most stress; every call note, scanned claim document, and Formeer form entry gets attached directly to each client’s profile automatically. Last spring, one of our agents suddenly had to take emergency leave right in the middle of handling a commercial property policy renewal for a local retail shop insured through Nationwide. When I stepped in to take over the account, I pulled up the Salesmate timeline and instantly saw all prior call notes, uploaded inspection documents, and the status of their Formeer application. I didn’t have to dig through endless email threads or piece together information from different team members, and we successfully sent their renewal packet before the expiration cutoff. I also rely heavily on the task automation and reminder system. It sends alerts for upcoming renewals, missing document follow-ups, and periodic claim check-ins, so I no longer depend only on my personal calendar or messy shared spreadsheets. The dashboard is clean and easy to navigate, letting me quickly filter a full list of clients whose policies are expiring soon. Salesmate doesn’t overload me with irrelevant sales features that don’t apply to insurance admin tasks. All of these tools work together to cut down manual data entry and help our team avoid expensive mistakes, like letting a client’s policy lapse because we missed a renewal deadline. What do you dislike about Salesmate?

The biggest frustration I have with Salesmate is its limited reporting functionality. The native reports are designed around sales KPIs such as deal volume and lead conversion rates, which are not the metrics our insurance admin team needs on a daily basis. I regularly need to generate reports showing upcoming policy renewals, open pending claim files, and how many clients have returned their completed Formeer intake forms. There are no pre-built templates for these insurance-focused reports, and building custom reports is really awkward. Filtering data using our custom policy fields often runs slowly. Just last month, our leadership requested a monthly summary of all Nationwide policy renewals scheduled for the next 90 days. I spent nearly two hours trying to build the report inside Salesmate, but the filters kept failing to pull accurate data for our custom carrier field. I ended up exporting all raw contact data and manually sorting and cleaning everything inside Excel to finish the report. Another major drawback is there is no native integration with Formeer. Whenever a client submits an insurance application or claim form via Formeer, all of that information has to be manually copied and pasted into the matching Salesmate contact record. A few weeks ago, I was juggling five new form submissions at the same time. I accidentally missed entering details for a small restaurant client’s Formeer claim form into their Salesmate profile. Our agent followed up with the client, unaware their paperwork had already been submitted, which confused the client and created an unnecessary awkward back-and-forth. It’s repetitive manual labor, and when my workload spikes, there is always risk of typos or missing form entries entirely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
