My favorite part of Salesmate is its flexible pipeline and built-in task system, which fits our indie game studio’s partnership work perfectly instead of forcing us into standard sales workflows. I can fully customize each deal stage to match our process for publishers, streamers and conference collaborations. I can drop meeting notes and set follow-up reminders right inside each partner’s contact page. Last quarter, I was negotiating with a YouTube gaming influencer for a demo showcase, and I set a reminder to send our game build and NDA. Since all the notes sat in that contact record, I never lost track of our agreement. The clean interface lets me create new contact entries quickly, even when I’m juggling player community messages. The email integration is also really valuable. Every email exchange automatically attaches to the matching contact profile. I no longer waste hours searching through messy email threads to find past discussions. For our 37-person small team with no dedicated CRM specialist, Salesmate is simple to learn and keeps all our partnership outreach work well organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting tools are my biggest headache. All the default reports are built around sales revenue, deal value, win rates — none of which apply to our game studio’s work. We aren’t selling products directly; we track publisher pitches, influencer outreach, conference leads and merchandise partner talks. When I need to show our studio founder how many influencer collaborations we advanced last quarter, or the average response time from publishers, I have to build every single report manually with custom filters and tags. Last month I spent nearly two hours exporting data and putting together a quarterly partnership summary, because none of the built-in templates let me filter results by partnership type. It would save me tons of time if Salesmate added pre-made templates for outreach and partnership teams, or let me save custom tag-based reports as reusable defaults. The other annoying issue is random email sync delays. Most of the time incoming emails attach to the correct contact automatically, but every few weeks something fails to sync. A couple weeks ago, a merchandise distributor we were negotiating with sent a reply with revised pricing. Their email didn’t show up on their Salesmate profile for nearly three days. I only caught it when I opened their contact card to follow up and noticed the last logged message was my outgoing email from the week before. I had to dig through Gmail, locate their reply, and manually link the thread. This creates real risk. If I’d assumed they hadn’t gotten back and moved to another vendor, we would’ve lost that better pricing deal. It doesn’t break the core CRM functions, but it means I can’t fully trust Salesmate has the full conversation history, which defeats part of the point of centralizing everything. A simple alert whenever an email can’t match an existing contact would fix this easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
