The biggest benefit is that partner activity is tightly connected to the rest of Salesforce. It gives us a central place to manage partner relationships, share relevant information, and provide partners with access to the data and processes they need, without having to create a completely separate system. The flexibility of the Salesforce platform is another real advantage, especially when we need to tailor the experience to our own partner programme and internal processes. That flexibility is valuable, but it can also make the platform more complex than it needs to be. Setting up the experience, permissions, data model, and processes properly takes time and usually requires a solid understanding of Salesforce. From a partner’s perspective, some areas can feel less intuitive than you’d ideally want, which often means there’s a fair amount of configuration needed to deliver a truly simple partner experience.
