It is easier than paychex. The assistant is pretty good. Getting to a human agent is pretty fast. On bording is pretty simple when employees actually fill it out. It is pretty expensive. The menus are a bit confusing. the way each of the tabs is listed makes it a bit hard to find what you are looking for. It is also challenging to find out if I am fulfilling all of my obligations. Settings are a bit challenging.

**What problems is RUN Powered by ADP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes doing payroll very easy. Onboarding is pretty simple as long as employees fill it out. It is annoying that I have to put my user name in all the time from the same computer.

I love being able to check my pay stubs instantly on the mobile app. The push notifications on payday are great, and the interface makes it incredibly easy to navigate. As an employee, I do not see the direct billing or total costs. However, the reliability of getting paid on time makes it seem like a worthwhile investment for the company. The login process can be frustratingly rigid. If you forget your password, getting stuck in an identity verification loop or locked out of the portal happens far too easily.

It solves the problem of keeping track of paper pay stubs. Having a secure digital archive for all my financial records makes renting, budgeting, and tax preparation simple.

**What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?**

I love the chat feature!  Anytime I have an issue, I can pop into a chat and resolve my issue quickly.  I rarely have to wait for an agent and I always get my issue resolved.  Additionally, the employees don't just answer my questions, but they take the time to show me how to do it myself.  This makes using the software that much easier for the next time.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

The software is user friendly.  The staff is exceptionally knowledgable.  I have never inquired about something and found an agent unable to answer my question swiftly.  I like that I can call for help, or find help in a chat window when I am unable to be on a call.  I would say the only negative feature at all, is that occasionally, I may forget to add an employee to payroll and need to run another off cycle, due to my own oversight.  I don't like the cost of that.  But I have discovered a workaround with the help of the ADP agents.  I can write a manual check and still manage to pay the employee without the added expense of an extra payroll.

I used to run my payroll manually.  It took a great deal of time and there were often errors.  Using ADP has helped my manage my time and money more efficiently.  It has also helped me to comply with my PFMLA and other tax obligations with accurate and easy to access reports.

RUN Powered by ADP is its ease of use and the streamlined payroll process. Running payroll is straightforward, and the system makes it easy to review employee information, process payroll accurately, and access payroll reports. We've also found the onboarding feature helpful for electronically collecting new hire paperwork and organizing employee documents, which has made our onboarding process more efficient. Overall, the platform is intuitive and has simplified our payroll and onboarding workflows.

While RUN Powered by ADP is easy to use for payroll and onboarding, there are areas that could be improved. The reporting capabilities are somewhat limited and often require manual manipulation to get the information needed. **What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?**

It provides the basic services we need to run payroll for our company of about 20 employees (give or take in any given month). It’s effective at paying people correctly on a twice-monthly schedule, and it also offers adequate tracking and reporting for tax purposes.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

We’ve run into a couple of issues. First, the system isn’t ministry-specific, so it doesn’t offer much assistance or guidance when it comes to navigating the nuances of paying ministers. Second, the time and attendance system feels very cumbersome and is difficult to use for both administrators and end users.

**What problems is RUN Powered by ADP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before switching to a cloud-based payroll service, we relied on a local accounting firm. That process was unreliable and very difficult to manage, to the point that we didn’t feel confident in the payroll process for our employees. We then moved to another cloud-based service before ADP, and ultimately switched to ADP for better pricing and a more robust platform.

**What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?**

I like that it's easy-to-use, with a user-friendly interface.

Adding, terminating, and rehiring vendors doesn't take much time.

 I can send salaries to our employees reliably and quickly, all in one batch, which helps us a lot since we have more than 100 drivers.

 In 4 years that we operate this program, we rarely ecountered any issues. And if we had them, support was willing to help.

Same-day processing feature has helped us multiple times when we needed to make urgent payments.

The website works without glitches or any problems. Also ADP added virtual AI agents, which can answer any question in a matter of minutes in case if we need help.

Pricing is reasonable for what we are getting. 

We currently use ADP as our primary payroll platform. Although we haven't used ADP's integrations yet, the platform covered our payroll needs without requiring additional software.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

ADP currently has a limit of $400,000 being sent in one payment, and if we exceed that amount, we need to wire ADP first, and only then be able to send the money. This has caused a salary delay for our employees, since we got a notification about this only after sending the money. Funds did not get processed on time. If the limit could have been increased for companies like ours, that use ADP consistenly and for many years, that would have been great.

Before using RUN powered by ADP, managing payroll for a large number of employees required much more manual work and was time-consuming. Now we can process payroll for 100-150 employees all in a single batch, and the process usually takes us about 30 minutes. This has significantly reduced our workload and helped us process payroll efficiently.

Another feature we appreciate is the payroll reporting. All payroll records are well organized and if we need to find a payment confirmation from any year, we can access it within a minute. This has made responsing to employee inquiries and maintaining payroll records easy and fast

**What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?**

Reliable for submitting accurate payroll report and when there is an payroll issue needs to resolve, such as employee wants to cash out the vacation hours.  For issue like this, I might spend hours to find the solution but still not sure if I enter the data correctly.  With ADP, 5-10 minutes, an online agent will get it resolved.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

Marketing.  Once you signed up ADP, your inbox will be flood with ADP emails.  All the agents want to help you on the service you don't have yet.  It was a good intention, but the agents don't communicate with each other.  Even I told an agent that I already purchased the workers comp from one insurance company, I still received more than 6 agents reaching to me for the same subject.

Run ADP customer service is good at resolving any payroll data entry issue.  For things we don't know how to do it, ADP makes it simple for us by offering an agent support and update the form to the way we needed.

RUN powered by ADP is simple to use and understand almost every employee can easily manage the payroll. Additionally it helps you prepare and submit the federal and state forms without any hustle. Also there is assistance right through RUN and you can fulfill your vacancies necessities through it as it provides all the tools to post a candidacy in the most reknowned recruitment platforms.

There are few downsides to using RUN powered by ADP. But when you are locked out from your account the process is a little bit complicated to sign in again if you dont have any other admin role that can help you. Assistance in federal holidays is not available and that can delay de time to resolve any issue you have during these periods.

Run powered by ADP resolves all my payroll necessities through processing to filing of federal and state payroll forms. Also if you need to fill a vacancy you can upload your candidacy right through RUN and it will be posted in the most relevant recruitment platforms.

What I like best is that employees can use the app themselves. They can clock in and out and request PTO hours, and I can quickly review their timecards. Having everything on my phone is great and makes the whole process very easy.

There are so many features that it can be a little confusing to remember how to use certain ones. They don’t have a chat person available on the weekends, and the AI feature isn’t usually helpful. It also feels a bit pricey for a small nonprofit like us. ALso not sure why their are so many log ins for one company.

How would I know what problems ADP is solving ? This questions makes no sense. So I guess I will just write that over and over since this has to be so many words. I am not sure what problems you are solving.

**What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?**

I really like that RUN Powered by ADP is one of the simplest software platforms I’ve used. It’s easy to navigate on my end and on the employee side, which is great because it works well for both the company and the employees.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

Some things on the manager side could be better. When there's a change in a manager and we update the time tracking, sometimes the manager has a hard time even if we've set it up correctly. The time and attendance side doesn't integrate as fast as I'd like, so they're not getting notifications of PTO requests. It's also not very easy to access for approving or denying PTO requests.

**What problems is RUN Powered by ADP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use RUN Powered by ADP to keep my payroll on track, manage time cards, and integrate benefits, which saves me from handling these manually. Hopefully 401K will intergrade soon with John Hancock

We switched to ADP because we can get pay by pay workers comp, payroll, HR help, and 401k all under the same roof. The cost is fair and there is a lot of support available when you need it!

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

The only problem with ADP is that it was a really long and confusing process to switch from Gusto to ADP, at least when we made the switch in 2025. ADP has a lot of reps and employees which is great but they would give us conflicting information on next steps. Also, since becoming an ADP customer I get sales calls and emails FROM ADP almost daily, which has really begun to drive me insane.

Having our 401k automatically integrated is very helpful, and being able to break out our workers comp payments week by week with up to date costs has been incredibly useful!

**What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?**

The biggest benefit of RUN Powered by ADP is how much time it saves. Payroll is simple to process, and I don't have to worry about calculating or filing payroll taxes. The cost is more than justified by the amount of time it saves and the confidence of knowing everything is being handled correctly.

One thing I really appreciate is how easy it is to switch between our two companies; it's literally just a dropdown menu. That alone makes managing payroll for multiple businesses much more efficient.

The HR tools have also been a huge plus. The new hire onboarding process is especially convenient when you're hiring in multiple states because ADP keeps all of the required forms up to date. There's no need to track down forms from different state websites or worry that you're using an outdated version. New employees can complete most of their own setup online before their first day, which saves us time, reduces data entry, and helps prevent mistakes.

I've also been impressed with the ADP Assist. The AI-powered Assistant is great for getting quick answers to everyday questions. If I run into something more complicated, I simply ask to speak with a live representative, and I'm connected through chat within minutes. I honestly haven't had to pick up the phone for support. Every question, modification, or issue I've had has been resolved through chat.

The payroll reports are another feature I rely on. They make it easy to reconcile payroll, prepare journal entries, and quickly find the information I need without spending time digging through reports.

Overall, RUN Powered by ADP has made our payroll and HR processes much more streamlined and efficient. It takes care of the routine tasks so I can spend my time focusing on the parts of my job that add the most value instead of worrying about payroll administration.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

There really isn't much I dislike about RUN Powered by ADP. If I had to pick something, it would be how the billing invoices are organized. The Billing & Invoices section doesn't include the monthly processing fee invoices; it only shows the direct deposit, tax, and RUN service fee invoices for each payroll. To find the monthly processing invoices, you have to go to Reports > Billing Invoices, which opens a separate billing and invoice management page. It's a minor inconvenience and doesn't affect the overall functionality, but it would be nice if all invoices were accessible from one place.

**What problems is RUN Powered by ADP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payroll involves much more than just issuing paychecks. There are federal, state, and local taxes to calculate, file, and pay, and when you're processing payroll in multiple states, it can become very complicated.

Before we switched to RUN Powered by ADP, I was essentially calculating payroll taxes by hand because I didn't fully trust our ERP system. Even if the calculations had been accurate, I still had to file the tax returns and make the payments myself, often on different filing schedules depending on the taxing authority.

RUN Powered by ADP has taken all of that off my plate. Knowing the payroll taxes are being calculated correctly, filed on time, and paid automatically has been a tremendous time saver and gives me peace of mind. The time savings alone have more than justified the cost of the software. Instead of spending hours on payroll administration, I'm able to focus on higher-value accounting work and spend more time helping our employees with the day-to-day questions and tasks they need assistance with.

What I like best about RUN Powered by ADP is how user-friendly and efficient it is. **What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?**

RUN Powered by ADP is a reliable, user-friendly solution. While it may not have the most modern interface or the most UX flexibility, it excels in the areas that matter most—payroll accuracy, tax compliance, and dependability. 

RUN handles multi-state payroll and tax filings efficiently. Managing different state requirements can get complicated quickly, but ADP does a solid job staying current with regulations and ensuring filings are accurate and on time. That level of compliance support gives us confidence, especially during audits and year-end processing.

RUN's onboarding and task management features are a strong advantage. Integrations with other systems (such as ERP platforms or time-tracking tools) could also be smoother and more seamless—we’ve often had to rely on manual processes to bridge the gaps.

I have my payroll and 401(k) with ADP. As a business owner and parent of two, I appreciate how easy it is to work with RUN Powered by ADP support and with the website interface. I seldom have to contact customer service because the website is so natural and easy to use. When I do, their AI answers a lot of my questions before connecting me with a live agent. When I am connected to a live agent, the wait time is less than five minutes. The webpages and reports load very quickly, so performance is excellent. The entire onboarding process has been turn-key without any hiccups. You can tell the employees respect their position and value the people in the companies they work with. I onboarded at the end of the quarter, a very busy time. I did not feel rushed and was impressed when an upper manager hopped on my implementation meeting to cover for one of her team members. They really do work as a team to make switching easy. I also didn't ask for any kind of financial promotion, but was awarded one because there was a hefty fee from the 401(k) company I was switching from. Another pleasant surprise was they helped me figure out how to communicate the change to my employees and quelled any anxiety around compliance during this change. Overall, they are not the cheapest with respect to pricing, but the VALUE I am getting by not having to coordinate with employees when there are changes, the data entry of thsi transition, the integration they have between payroll and 401(k), and the option to do profit sharing and add a benefit where employees can pay off their student loans from their 401(k) is so worth it. It is frustrating that check date drives everything. This can cause alignment problems with accrual accounting. It should not matter that the check was issued/deposited on January 2nd if the pay period is for December 31st - as in an accrual accounting system. With ADP, if the check date is on January 2nd, you are in the next year's tax quarter for reporting purposes. Check Date and Pay Period should be selectable and ADP should recognize the differences in how a particular business maintains its' Accounting Records - specifically for Accrual based businesses.

RUN Powered by ADP's best feature is the ability to issue payroll up to 5pm the day before the check date. And, unofficially, an hour or more later after the cut-off and still have payroll issued on time.  Many competitors required hours and payroll to be approved one and or two full days prior to check date to have payroll processed ontime.

There are a few things that I like best about RUN Powered by ADP. 1. is how the employees of the company actually care. Everyone that I've spoken with has been so thorough, had phenomenal performance, and given me the best customer service. I've never experienced that at such a large company. 2. Integrations were seamless because of such thorough communication. 3. The interface is actually really easy to use. It used to take me around 5 hours total to process payroll and with ADP, I can enter in all employees hours manually (if I have to) and have it processed within 1 hour. I can easily locate the HR function, generate my own COI for workmans comp, and don't even get me started on onboarding new employees.The whole interface is absolutely gorgeous. 4. The pricing is genuinely so fair and there really is an ROI for the support and services that you receive. I'm really genuinely so impressed with ADP.

Literally nothing. And I don't say that lightly.

Before RUN Powered by ADP, I always felt completely lost when it came to HR practices. My previous payroll system offered HR guides and resources, but it was so clunky that it took extra work on my part just to navigate the interface and actually use what was available. Since switching to ADP, I can easily look up updated HR processes, make sure we’re staying within State and Federal guidelines, and know exactly which forms a new hire should sign.

It has also removed the clunkiness from onboarding. I used to rely on our previous payroll and HR system, DocuSign, and a lot of back-and-forth email to get an employee fully integrated, and even then there were still huge gaps. The process was so lengthy that I genuinely dreaded it. Now I’m able to onboard an employee with just a few clicks, and I know the assigned documents and tasks will be sent out for me, with background checks able to be run as part of the process.

The icing on the cake is the specialist and customer support teams. In the past, I felt like I had to be IT too, and if there were implementation issues, it all fell on me. This is the first time I’ve worked with a truly responsive company that helps and double-checks to make sure employees are onboarded properly when something comes up. Being able to direct employees to the HR specialists literally takes work off my plate, especially for things I never had time for in the first place. ADP has genuinely given me some breathing room in my day-to-day operations.

One downside of RUN Powered by ADP is that some features are not very intuitive and may require additional steps or contacting support to complete certain tasks. One time, my account was temporarily restricted because there were insufficient funds available. I love how easy it is to use, and how trustworthy it is.  For example, if something seems "off" to the system compared to normal patterns, or it notices a change that might impact my payroll, it will point these out to me so that I can double check them for accuracy.  I also find their customer service to be excellent on the occasions that I have a question or concern.  I find that the system works reliably well, and it does a lot of work for me in the background without me having to think about it.  Some examples are automatically handling IRS transmissions and filing appropriate tax forms, as well as seamlessly handling wage garnishments if/when they arise.  Pricing is very fair for all of the features above, plus more that I don't make use of often but I know they are available, such as HR support.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

I honestly can't think of any downsides to using ADP.  They are a nationally well-known payroll provider, and they have been consistently accurate, helpful, and user-friendly from day one.

For me, this benefits day-to-day operations by saving significant administrative time and helping keep payroll organized and compliant. Instead of manually calculating taxes, tracking deductions, or managing paper documents, the system automates many of those responsibilities. The employee self-service portal also reduces the number of routine HR questions because employees can access pay stubs, W-2s, and personal information on their own.

Such an easy system to run payroll. For a small business it's an easy interface and simple to learn. I like how I am able to use my phone to run payroll from anywhere I am. When entering the main page or app the main run payroll button is right on the main screen so this a quick way I run payroll right away. Any time I have a question, I can connect to an agent very quick, and they help me right away. It's quick and easy to use overall.

When looking for something specific like a specific report it does get a little over whelming, but this is only because we are a newer business so the titles of reports, we are just not familiar with. It takes me a while to find the specific thing I am looking for but eventually, I do find it.

The thing I like the most about this software is that it's easy to use and very intuitive to use. The way the software is laid out, is similar to other web applications with a menu bar in the left to jump to different sections. The software also provides reminders such as if it's a holiday coming up and payroll has to be submitted earlier. I also like that any questions I have I can easily call and get a person. I can call if I have questions about the software and using it, or call if I have a HR question. We use this software for payroll, keeping track of employee records, and workers comp insurance. The software does have integrations with other platforms and software, but we do not use this feature yet. Overall the performance of the software is very reliable. When it does maintenance, it is overnight and outside of business hours. There is a banner at the top of the software that announces any upcoming planned maintenance. The pricing of the software if fair for everything it provides. Having that number to call for HR support has been huge, and allowed our business to not have to hire a dedicated HR person which is a huge return in investment for the business. The software does have AI features, but we do not use these yet. However I feel confident that we will use it in the future as it learns our business and our trends with payroll.

**What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?**

The downsides can be the wait times on the phone. 90% of the time I call, I am able to speak with a person within two minutes. However at the end of the year and beginning of the year, the wait times can be up to 45 minutes. Another thing I dislike, is that we constantly get calls to try to upsell us on other services. I appreciate that they have other services, but when I tell them no, they come back a few months later to try to upsell the same services.

This software helps us find the best workers comp insurance which saves us countless hours of research. This software makes payroll easy for us which saves us hours on doing payroll with some other platform. We also use this platform for all HR related issues. In terms of entering and finding important data, it's extremely organized. I've used a couple other payroll services that are extremely difficult to track down specifics about past paychecks or obtain W2's. I can also chat with someone either on the phone or the text box right on the home page, which makes solving any particular issues simple.

Some employee side issues. I have an employee who works at a different site than me and works primarily in a kitchen with fast paced high turnover. He's unable to access his personal account and for some reason I'm required to make a three way call while he's trying to log in to troubleshoot together. I don't understand how I can't authorize an employee to troubleshoot only his own account.

I have had issues with 1099's because we only have bands that count. They're one time, 3 hour employees that qualify for 1099's and it's annoying to file for them, but ADP has simplified it for me over the years.

RUN is very easy to use. Our time tracking integrates, as does our 401(K), so I just have to input my payroll numbers that vary each time. It's very easy to get tax jurisdictions set up and the customer support is incredibly easy to use. There is rarely a wait and they almost always can help within a few minutes.

The Custom Reports are limited. There are pre-created reports to select from, but sometimes when I need to put census data together, I have to pull from multiple reports and individual employee pages. The custom reports lack flexibility and the filters aren't helpful.

They are easy to use and they have really good support. I don't have any specifics on integrations but the performance is good. The pricing is also priced very fairly for such a large company that does so much. I don't currently use the AI very much but any time I've tried to use it, it didn't work great, so I usually just transfer to a human.

My experience onboarding with them has been a nightmare. If I hadn't used them before and knew the other benefits, I might have cancelled.

The support you have when you have a question or issue with the program. I was able to call someone and quickly get a fix to my issue. The time sheets are easy to understand and make doing payroll a breeze. The ability to have my team clock in and out on their cell phones makes it easy for them to track their hours since we are on the road most of the time. The price of the program is reasonable for all the features we are able to take advantage of between clock in and out and reports we need for the state and government.

The sales calls I get for other programs when I did not ask for it. Send an email and if I am interested I would reach out.

The clock in and out feature helps me track the accuracy in payroll at the end of the week. The RUN program makes it easy for me to fix errors they make and make sure that I cover all the hours they work. The program then tells me the total cost for the payroll so that I am sure that there is enough money in the bank. My partner is able to grab the reports easily so he can put them into our Quickbooks account.
