## Relativity Reviews
  ### 1. Flexible, Scalable Platform with Deep Administrative Control

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Relativity?**

What I like best about Relativity is the level of control and scalability it provides as both a review platform and an administrative tool. In my role as a system administrator working across Relativity Server and RelativityOne, features like granular permissions, workspace templating, and automated workflows allow me to standardize environments while still adapting to unique client requirements.

The advanced search functionality—particularly dtSearch and analytics—has been critical in reducing review time and improving accuracy on large, complex datasets. For example, leveraging structured analytics and email threading has significantly cut down on duplicate review effort and helped teams prioritize key communications faster.

From a performance standpoint, RelativityOne’s cloud architecture has made a noticeable difference in speed, accessibility, and scalability compared to on-prem environments, especially when handling high data volumes or supporting distributed review teams. The ability to quickly scale resources without infrastructure overhead has improved turnaround times on tight deadlines.

I also appreciate the ongoing investment in AI and automation, including features like active learning and assisted review, which continue to evolve and provide meaningful efficiency gains. These tools not only accelerate review but also help maintain consistency and defensibility across projects.

Overall, Relativity enables me to build efficient, repeatable workflows that improve both operational performance and the end-user review experience.

**What do you dislike about Relativity?**

One of the main challenges with Relativity is the complexity that comes with its depth and flexibility. While powerful, the platform can have a steep learning curve for new users, particularly when it comes to administrative functions, workspace configuration, and optimizing workflows.

From an administrative perspective, certain processes—such as large data migrations, index management, or troubleshooting performance issues in Relativity Server—can be time-consuming and require a high level of expertise. Even in RelativityOne, while the infrastructure burden is reduced, there can still be limitations in customization compared to on-prem environments.

Performance can occasionally be inconsistent when working with extremely large datasets or highly complex searches, and some tasks (like mass updates or large productions) can take longer than expected without careful planning and resource allocation.

Additionally, while new AI and automation features are valuable, they can require fine-tuning and user training to fully realize their benefits, which can add to upfront project time.

Overall, while these challenges are manageable, they highlight the importance of experienced administration and thoughtful workflow design to get the most out of the platform.

**What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Relativity is solving the challenge of managing and extracting value from massive volumes of unstructured data in a defensible, efficient way. In my role, it enables us to take in complex datasets and rapidly transform them into structured, searchable, and review-ready workspaces.

From a business standpoint, it directly impacts cost, speed, and accuracy. By leveraging features like analytics, email threading, and active learning, we’re able to reduce document review volumes by 30–60% in many cases, which significantly lowers overall review costs. These tools also help prioritize high-value documents earlier in the workflow, often accelerating review timelines by 25–40%.

Operationally, Relativity allows us to standardize workflows and reuse proven templates, which improves consistency and reduces setup time across matters. In RelativityOne, the ability to scale resources on demand has eliminated infrastructure bottlenecks, enabling faster data processing and supporting global review teams without performance tradeoffs.

Overall, this translates to faster turnaround times, more defensible results, and measurable cost savings for clients, while allowing us to handle increasingly large and complex matters with greater efficiency.

  ### 2. User-Friendly Platform with Strong Security, but Pricey

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pablo T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Relativity?**

I think Relativity is a very user-friendly platform. It's easy to get up to speed, although it requires some learning. I appreciate the security in place and the recent developments into Gen AI. Relativity Air, for review and privileged identification, is very valuable for quick case strategy.

**What do you dislike about Relativity?**

I think in general, the pricing is quite expensive compared to other solutions in the market. And I think also probably the learning curve for someone that wants to use the platform as a self-service e-discovery platform. It couldn't work well, you have to also spend a lot of money in the Gen AI solutions that they have recently incorporated. I think in relation to their Gen AI solutions, I can see, for example, competitors using Gen AI across entire datasets and basically getting answers to the questions very quickly about large datasets. This is something I think that the activities team needs to work better. In terms of learning, it is true that there is a lot of learning available. Sometimes, you know, having more support from the team could be very helpful. Relation to the price, I would say a pay-as-you-go model is available in other platforms. Not at the moment, with the current Relativity One subscription. And by the way, when you basically want to use Relativity Air, you need to have already a subscription with your Relativity One.

**What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Relativity for handling large and complex datasets, which improves efficiency in review workflows and makes reviews more defensible.

  ### 3. User-friendly and best support team around

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2017

**What do you like best about Relativity?**

The majority of the software is intuitive, which makes training users easy. Also, since all of the documentation is available online, with a click of a button, users can learn on their own schedule. When questions arise that can't be solved using the online documentation, the support team is there to assist at all hours of the day/night.

**What do you dislike about Relativity?**

There a still alot of clicks involved to accomplish a task and some key features missing that would make life much easier - such as being able to search the image of the document.

**Recommendations to others considering Relativity:**

Read through the online documentation to get a feel of what capabilities are available. reaching out to current users is helpful also.

**What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Relativity for all things document management - processing, loading, batching, reviewing, producing. Having one system to do everything has saved countless hours.

  ### 4. Powerful and Reviewer-Friendly E‑Discovery Platform

Relativity delivers strong, well-rounded capabilities that make it both powerful and reviewer-friendly. It streamlines workflows so reviewers can quickly find documents within their work streams, apply coding decisions with ease, and use search terms to guide each coder in a way that fits their individual preferences. The intuitive interface and advanced search features help reduce friction during document review, while the robust analytics and automation tools support greater accuracy and efficiency throughout the broader e-discovery process.

**What do you dislike about Relativity?**

Relativity’s main downsides are its complexity and cost. Administrative tasks can be difficult to manage without formal training, and the platform’s premium pricing makes it a heavy investment. Still, those challenges stem from its vast capabilities, which deliver powerful functionality once mastered.

**What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Relativity helps address the challenges of handling massive data sets, meeting compliance demands, and simplifying document review. By bringing the e‑discovery process into a single, unified workflow and giving reviewers advanced search, analytics, and AI tools, it supports faster identification of relevant documents, smoother coding, and more efficient collaboration. Overall, this leads to quicker case preparation, lower costs, and greater confidence in both accuracy and data security.

**What do you like best about Relativity?**

What I like most about Relativity is how well it manages large, complex document review workflows in an organized and efficient way. It brings together document review, robust search functionality, analytics, batching, redactions, and production tools within a single platform.

From a project management and review standpoint, Relativity helps streamline the entire eDiscovery lifecycle by making it easier to process data, structure and manage workflows, monitor reviewer progress, and maintain consistent quality control. I also value how customizable the platform is, from layouts and views to search indexes, permissions, and overall workflow configurations.

Another major advantage is its strong support for defensible workflows and auditability, which is critical for legal and investigative matters.

**What do you dislike about Relativity?**

One area that can be challenging in Relativity is that certain advanced workflows require a strong understanding of the platform, particularly for newer users or teams without much technical experience. Capabilities tied to analytics, processing, dtSearch, structured analytics, and workspace administration can come with a noticeable learning curve.

In some situations, large data volumes or highly customized workflows also require careful planning to maintain optimal performance and overall review efficiency. That said, once users become familiar with the system and follow established best practices, Relativity proves to be a very reliable and powerful platform.

**What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Relativity helps address the challenge of handling large volumes of electronically stored information (ESI) in a structured, defensible, and efficient way. In eDiscovery matters, investigations, DSARs, and regulatory reviews, it’s critical to manage data accurately and meet tight deadlines, and Relativity provides the tools to support that work effectively.

It reduces manual effort by improving searchability and strengthening key parts of the review process, including workflows, batching, issue coding, privilege review, redactions, and production preparation. Features such as analytics and email threading also help shorten review time by surfacing relevant content more quickly and reducing duplicates or lower-value material.

For me, the biggest benefit has been stronger operational control, clearer visibility into review progress, and greater confidence in delivering high-quality outcomes to clients and stakeholders.

  ### 8. Robust Document Management with Few Hiccups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomasz Z. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Relativity?**

I like the Review Center because it provides clear and useful statistics statistics for administrators. I'm particularly keen on the Air for Review feature as it helps manage large volume of documents and delivers more relevant documents for the review team. I also find the initial setup of Relativity quite intuitive, and the platform offers a complete end-to-end workflow regardless whether data is acquired using tools such as Cellebrite, FTK, or Encase.

**What do you dislike about Relativity?**

The Staging Area is rather limited platform for data management, especially when it comes to handling archives. For example, if you have an old ARM backup created in an archive format other than .zip, it needs to be repackaged into a zip before restoration. Additionally, even if a .zip archive has a password longer than 20 characters, repackaging is still required.

**What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Relativity deduplicates data, allow manage and tag documents, and leverages AI to reduce document volumes for reviewers. This makes it easier to manage large document sets and prioritize the most valuable documents for review.

  ### 9. Streamlined Litigation Management
