## RealVNC Reviews
  ### 1. Efficient, Resource-Light Remote Support Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad C. | Director of Information Technology, Religious Institutions, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2017

**What do you like best about RealVNC?**

I use RealVNC to access computer systems for remote support and perform tasks remotely, which allowed us to eliminate VPNs for remote access. I find RealVNC makes it easy to support end users and appreciate how it's a solid solution critical to our daily operations. I like its ease of use and the fact that it isn't bloated, with the client not utilizing a lot of system resources. The new features, like being able to hear audio remotely and reliable screen refresh, allow our video editors to edit videos remotely. I also love that file transfer is easy using RealVNC. It's easy to install and has been a consistently innovative application, warranting my high recommendation.

**What do you dislike about RealVNC?**

Nothing comes to mind that I don't like about RealVNC.

**Recommendations to others considering RealVNC:**

We have been using RealVNC for direct connections for years. With the addition of VNC Connect we were able to drop Log Me In Central which we used for out of network connections. I have found VNC Connect to be more user friendly and more light weight than the Log Me In client. You will not be sorry for switching to VNC Connect!

**What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RealVNC eliminates the need for VPNs for remote access, supports end users easily, allows remote access to computers internationally, and is a solid daily-use application.

  ### 2. Reliable and secure remote access

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luca P. | Chief Operations Officer DEQUA Studio | Formerly CTO in MarTech, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2025

**What do you like best about RealVNC?**

•	Security defaults that feel right in real life: end-to-end encryption, strong TLS, and multi-factor sign-in options that keep sessions private without turning routine access into a chore.

•	The Version 8 unified desktop app is a quiet quality-of-life win; combining Viewer and Server means one installer, one place to work, and fewer clicks to get a session going.

•	Code Connect has been a handy way to bring in a trusted guest for a short window; the code is invite-only, expires quickly, and still requires approval on the device side.

•	On-Demand Assist in HelpDesk has made ad hoc support straightforward; generating a code and getting a session running without a preinstalled agent is exactly what’s needed for one-off fixes.

•	Presence indicators help me see which machines are actually reachable, and Favorites keeps the regulars a click away, which saves time during busy support windows.

•	The in-session toolbar is thoughtfully laid out with essentials like chat, full screen, multi-monitor switching, file transfer, and session recording, so the control surface is predictable from one session to the next.

•	Session recording is there when an audit trail matters, and chat keeps side conversations inside the session instead of scattering across apps.

•	Cross-platform coverage means the same tool spans Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, which keeps the remote support story consistent across a mixed estate.

•	The platform documentation on security is clear and practical, which helps when explaining controls and sign-in options to auditors and security teams.

•	The refreshed file manager and the analytics dashboard announced for v8 make routine file transfers and team activity oversight feel more integrated with the everyday workflow.

**What do you dislike about RealVNC?**

I used to lean on the free Home plan for casual, personal access, and its retirement in 2024 means that kind of lightweight use now either sits in the limited, non‑commercial Lite option or moves to a paid tier.

**What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In daily work, RealVNC Connect makes it easy to reach the machines that matter and get on with the task, with familiar tools like chat, file transfer, and multi-monitor right where they are expected.

For one-off help, On-Demand Assist lets me start a session with a code and no preinstall on the other side, which keeps quick fixes moving without setup delays.

When a trusted guest needs a short window onto a device, Code Connect provides a clean invite that expires fast and still asks for approval on the host, which keeps access contained.
Security feels like a default, not an obstacle; encryption is on, MFA and SSO are available, and the docs are clear enough to share in policy conversations.

Across devices and platforms, the experience stays consistent, so moving from Windows to macOS to mobile does not derail the flow or require a second tool.
All of that means the remote session becomes the easy part of the job, which is exactly what I want from this category.

  ### 3. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/TECH SUPPORT - Almost non-existent

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul C. | President (former Treasurer) - Chapter 40 - Genesee Valley, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2025

**What do you like best about RealVNC?**

Used product for years, was reliable, and easy to use, use to be free...

**What do you dislike about RealVNC?**

HORRIBLE TECH SUPPORT/CUSTOMER SERVICE, almost non-existent, now experiences more problems with recent updates, no longer free as of 2024, and no support, failed to respond to emails after uploading diagnostic logs, rep leaves chat session, you are totally on your own, there are other products that do the same thing with more reliable support, NOT RECOMMENDED

**What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote access

  ### 4. RealVNC works on all of our platforms and devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2024

**What do you like best about RealVNC?**

It works pretty consistently across platforms and devices. We use it almost daily. It's really easy to use. I've never needed to contact support or even look up any help online. Transitioning from the free "home" version to the business version was pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about RealVNC?**

Some features, such as isolating a single display, only work on Windows, not Mac. We used the free version for several years. When that product tier was eliminated we did some product comparison and found that it's a bit more expensive than some competitors. There isn't a tier that's a good fit for us. Ultimately, though, it was the best choice since the learning curve was virtually non-existent.

**What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RealVNC has made it possible to more easily manage various systems that are unmanned and tucked away in closets. We can do this from phones no matter where we are. Aside from that it make secure remote work possible for regular staff.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2024

**What do you like best about RealVNC?**

I was looking to connect quickly via remote connection from Raspberry Pi to PC and vice versa and this app made it possible quickly and without effort. When I thought I had an issue with the account setup on payment, a friendly agent quickly reassured me and gave me steps to enable the account in time to complete my task.

**What do you dislike about RealVNC?**

So far it works well - the switch from trial to pro version could be better streamlined though.

**What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to connect to a small PC I use for my (remote controlled) robotics work.

I have desktop apps that I have to access regularly when I'm out of the office. RealVNC gives me a secure and easy to use connection that is smooth and effective.
