## RatedPower Reviews
  ### 1. Transforming Utility-Scale Solar and BESS Design Through Speed, Accuracy, and Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sydney M. | Senior Project Manager / Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

What I like best about RatedPower is its ability to quickly generate optimized utility-scale solar PV plant designs with accurate energy yield estimates. The platform significantly reduces engineering time by automating plant layout, electrical design, cable routing, and preliminary BOQ generation. Its seamless integration with PVSyst and user-friendly interface make it an excellent tool for feasibility studies, design optimization, and project development, enabling faster and more informed engineering decisions.

Also, ability to integrate the BESS solution especially required here in the Philippines for more than 10MW capacity

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

I would like to see more customization options for electrical design and reporting, improved performance for large-scale projects, and better integration with other engineering software. These enhancements would make the platform even more efficient for utility-scale solar PV development.

For example, there is limitation only in terms of system voltage for the interconnection point, if the project is less than 34.5kV such as 24kV, 13,8kV, 13.2kV, 11kV, 4.6kV, 2.4kV considering the interconnection point is not the grid or connected in distribution utility.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RatedPower solves the challenge of rapidly evaluating and optimizing utility-scale solar PV projects during the early engineering and development stages. It automates tasks such as plant layout optimization, DC and AC electrical design, cable routing, energy yield estimation, and preliminary Bill of Quantities (BOQ), which traditionally require significant engineering effort. Further, RatedPower also generates KML file of the PV layout with 3D that will use for the presentation. Also, this enables our team to assess multiple design scenarios in a short period, improve design accuracy, reduce engineering hours, and make better-informed technical and financial decisions. As a result, we can accelerate project development, minimize design risks, and deliver optimized solutions to our clients and stakeholders more efficiently.

  ### 2. RatedPower Delivers Lightning-Fast, Optimized PV and BESS Designs in Minutes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rein M. | Project Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

Strongest feature of RatedPower is speed. A preliminary design that would normally take hours or days in traditional AutoCAD workflows can be generated in minutes. This makes it useful during project screening, land acquisition studies, and feasibility assessments. They also excels at producing optimized layouts based on the site constraints, equipment selection and terrain conditions and ability to test multiple design configuration in a short period. Also the interface is user friendl.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

While RatedPower is excellent for preliminary design and technical development, it still requires engineering validation for detailed design. On complex sites, I often need to manually refine layouts, and tasks such as earthworks, drainage, and geotechnical design require additional tools. I would also like more flexibility in customizing layout rules and reports, along with support for a wider range of equipment combinations, as the current workflow is limited to using a single PV module and inverter model per design.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RatedPower significantly reduces the time required to develop utility-scale PV and BESS layouts and preliminary energy assessments, allowing me to evaluate multiple project scenarios quickly. It streamlines the technical development process by automating layout generation, equipment sizing, and reporting, which improves productivity, supports faster decision-making, and helps identify the most technically and economically viable project configurations early in the development stage.

  ### 3. Intuitive, reliable and a great investment for project developers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando K. | Senior Project Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

User interface, easiness to use, quality and reliability of work, great support, training sessios, integration with PVsyst and CAD. Great investment for larger teams and multiple users. The addition of BESS planning is a real plus, as market demands for hybrid projects increase.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Price is less suitable for smaller companies with smaller teams, but will definitely be a time saver, as professional quality layouts can be done in a few minutes.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most times I cannot wait several weeks in order to obtain a plant layout, which is a commom time when hiring third parties. Also, most of the job can be done by less experienced professionals, instead of previously depending on rare and highly qualified experts. Looking forward to seeing what AI can do to help improve the whole process.

  ### 4. Great Support and Customer-Ready Output with Powerful Customization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** András H. | Electrician / Solar PV Installer, Renewables & Environment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

There are several things I like:
1. the support is great. Online meetings and onboarding session as well as the digital materials.
2. For an early stage design, you can produce very detailed documents and analysis.
3. I can customize schemes to make work faster.
4. The output is ready to be sent to customer, no need to modify.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

For me it is a bit complicated to understand the hierarchy. Make a site, design, once I edit or save the layout cannot modify certain parameters. So usually I end up 20-30 saved version. I think this can be changed by practicing more.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My main consern was the accurate BOM for financial calculations in an early stage of a project. This was solved by designing in RatedPower.

  ### 5. Intuitive, Fast, and Supportive for Easy PV Design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petros S. | Senior Design Engineer PV, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I like RatedPower for its intuitive interface, which is quite easy to navigate. It's a quick and straightforward tool that allows me to prepare several documents like layouts, SLDS, and reports, even for colleagues without an engineering background, by following our guidelines. The technical support is great, and there's a continuous effort to further expand the features. It's very important for the development of our early stage plans to have an easy-to-use, fast tool that can quickly generate multiple designs and comparisons.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

The part of BESS is currently useful mostly for layout purposes and simple reporting. Different dispatch strategies, and multiple revenue models should be made available in order to perform a meaningful simulation and financial analysis. Currently for revenue calculation, we can only upload a file with energy price forecasts. We need to be able to simulate all available markets, besides day ahead, including intra day, ancillary services, capacity market, etc. BESS projects must participate in multiple revenue streams in order to be profitable.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use RatedPower for quick preliminary design of PV and BESS projects. It's intuitive, easy to use, even without engineering experience, and lets us quickly generate various designs and reports. Its continuous feature expansion and excellent support are crucial as the market evolves.

  ### 6. A powerful tool to generate fast screening and report for preliminary design of PV plants

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonino S. | Ingegnere elettrico, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It's very easy to learn. With a few clicks you can generate layouts, single line diagrams and financial plans for utility scale PV plants. It also has a great customer support. The graphic output can be integrated into CAD software almost immediately.
The last updates allow the designer to simulate a 3D view and have an immediate evidence of the shadowing of the modules.
The layout editor now has new features implemented to tweak every aspect of the design. It is also possible now the editing of the bess layouts.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Some features take time to master properly. It could be useful to use two different string inverter sizes, as you can do with a centralized inverter. The layout editor has been updated, but it still has a few bugs; for example, in some spots the streets are not on the ground and instead “float” above it (maybe because of the terrain topography?).

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can easily evaluate the power of a PV plant available for a site directly from Google Earth, importing a .kmz file or a .dxf layout. You can rapidly evaluate different solutions (fixed structures, tracker, string inverters, centralized inverters, power stations, cable routes, pv modules, etc.). The layout can also be edited under some aspects to optimize the plant design

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with RatedPower! We're thrilled to hear that you find our platform easy to learn and appreciate our customer support. Your feedback on mastering certain features and the limitations of the Layout Editor is valuable to us, and we'll work on improving these aspects.

We'll also explore the possibility of incorporating the option to use two different size string inverters. It's great to know that RatedPower is helping you efficiently evaluate different solutions for PV plants. If you have any more suggestions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out. We're here to help! Thanks for your trust in RatedPower and Enverus.

  ### 7. Fast Layout & PVC Output, but CAD/PVC Accuracy and PVsyst Import Issues Need Work

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shashikant y. | Engieering Manager(Solar + BESS)- India and Southeast Asia, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It quickly generates the layout, BOM, SLD, etc., with minimal effort. It also generates the PVSC file, which is very useful for the PVsyst layout.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

There are multiple issues. First, the accuracy of the generated files (CAD, PVC, etc.) needs improvement. Second, sometimes RatedPower seems to use its own default inputs instead of the inputs provided by the user. Third, it does not take into account the shadowing of objects within the specified time window.

Also, when using the PVC file created by RatedPower and importing it into PVsyst, it generates an additional orientation that is different from what we have defined in PVsyst. Because of this, we have to delete one orientation. The problem is that the losses in both orientations are different, so the results change depending on which orientation is kept.

Finally, it lacks several inputs required for solar and BESS projects, and there is no customization available in the BOM and layout sections.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps solve problems during the pre-engineering stage, when speed is more important than accuracy.

  ### 8. Complete Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aimé P. | Head of Commercial Engineering Portugal and South America, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2024

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It simplifies several tasks that previously required at least three different software tools; now we can do everything on a single platform, and in a matter of minutes. The platform updates also stay aligned with how these tasks evolve over time.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

It works for very preliminary tasks, but it still can’t replace PVsyst or layouts done with AutoCAD + PVcase. Earthworks calculation and 3D complex-terrain simulations should be a key focus for the software going forward.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Issues with layouts, such as using half string on a birow tracker.

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> Thanks a lot for your review, Aimé. We're glad to hear that RatedPower has simplified your tasks and saved you time! We're relentlessly working in improving flexibility on our tool.

I use RatedPower for quick layouts with different configurations, and it saves a lot of time. I appreciate that it helps in getting DWG files and generates engineering documents quickly. The response is very quick, and everything is done in seconds. It also assists with financial metrics, saving a lot of manual work and turning early design into a more complete, build-ready package much faster. This allows the team to make better decisions earlier in the project. The initial setup was very easy after having just 30 minutes of coaching or training.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

I wish it had more flexibility in terms of movement of modules, transformer, inverter, and routing of cables like we can do manually in CAD.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use RatedPower for quick layouts and it saves a lot of time by generating engineering documents quickly, helping with financial metrics, and creating DWG files. It streamlines our process, turning early designs into build-ready packages much faster, allowing the team to make better decisions earlier.

  ### 10. Efficient Design Tool with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Soleman M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I like that RatedPower can be quite quick to do multiple iterations of the design and provide comparisons in terms of different pitch and different panels. It's able to provide that fairly quickly with little learning curve. I also find it quite efficient in the early stage design, as it helps quickly understand the capacity of the selected land area and how many panels can be fitted. Additionally, the initial setup was fairly easy and quite quick, with the software being easy to learn as well.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Areas that require improvement include the ability to have layers and functionality in terms of uploading shape files or KMZ files. It would be helpful to isolate or mark things more clearly instead of relying solely on drawing on the tool. Furthermore, once you get into more detailed design, it lacks features to handle specific requirements like identifying where cables are or locking an inverter to the locations, along with locking in some other features of the land and clearly labeling it.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RatedPower helps with early concept designs of solar farms, letting me quickly understand land capacity and panel allocation. It's efficient at this stage, making it easy to do quick iterations and comparisons without much learning curve.

**Official Response from Miguel Marrero:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience with RatedPower.
