It allows you to integrate Web UI tests, Desktop UI tests, and other types of interactions through C# libraries, all within a single tool. Additionally, it helps manage test structure, promotes code reusability, and simplifies the maintenance of UI object paths. **What do you dislike about Ranorex Studio?** Because of the high cost of corporate licensing and pricing, Ranorex experience is sometimes undervalued by companies that prefer to promote other test automation frameworks, such as the familiar Selenium. **What problems is Ranorex Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** The way Ranorex Studio organizes test suites, object repositories, and code modules makes managing test libraries much simpler compared to the often chaotic pure code solutions, which can vary greatly between companies or even among teams within the same organization. Its advantage is its ability to add code, in C#, where other automation tool gets stuck. That was the reason why I chose Ranorex to be our core automation development tool. Ranorex still has few problems that need to be solved and that is the place where the customer support takes place, and they do great job. **What do you dislike about Ranorex Studio?** Ranorex user code still use C# 4.8 while we develop on C# 11. From time to time, we see that the "Ranorex Spy" loses an element Xpath and it must be recognized again. Ranorex must find a way to add AI abilities. **What problems is Ranorex Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem was: "Exception occurred while recording" It has been solved after I have added new ticket, and I have talked to Ranorex CS and they release new Ranorex new version Exception occurred while recording ### 3. The studio can be used for various tasks. I find Ranorex Spy particularly helpful as it makes finding important properties easier. The Ranorex libraries can also be implemented in VS, which is very helpful for writing and creating TA tests. **What do you dislike about Ranorex Studio?** The tool does not immediately appear as the first search result, but with slightly more targeted search terms, it can be easily found. **What problems is Ranorex Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** For us, the challenge was to find a tool that is particularly well-suited for Windows applications. Particularly noteworthy is the ability to integrate custom user code in C#. This allows practically all requirements to be implemented, making Ranorex extremely versatile. The integration with our SQL database also works smoothly. Test data can be easily integrated and used. The modular structure allows for the reuse of code and recording modules, and test cases as well as test suites can be well constructed and comfortably linked with the test data from the database through data binding. The reporting is overall very clear and provides the relevant information in a well-prepared form. Also very helpful is the Ranorex Spy, which allows UI elements to be reliably identified. Overall, Ranorex offers comfortable, clear working and represents a very powerful test automation tool. **What do you dislike about Ranorex Studio?** There are only a few points that are disruptive in everyday life. The Ranorex Spy occasionally shows instabilities and can, in rare cases, even cause Ranorex to crash. This problem can be mitigated by clicking save in Ranorex Studio before using the Spy, so no data is lost. However, it is still somewhat annoying. Another minor weakness concerns reporting: For very long test cases that last an hour or more, the PDF generation of the report no longer works reliably. **What problems is Ranorex Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** Test automation of a Java desktop application. Conclusion: Despite minor weaknesses, the advantages of Ranorex clearly outweigh them. It is a comfortable and flexible test automation tool that offers virtually unlimited possibilities due to its openness to C# code. ### 6. Ranorex offered more possibilities to build the test automation. The structuring options are also very good. Likewise, if a function is not offered by default, the goal can be achieved with custom code. **What do you dislike about Ranorex Studio?** Initially, there were several hurdles, especially with the infrastructural integration into virtual machines. However, it eventually worked out, and the support there was helpful and punctual. We also had to first build up intensive expertise in the use of Ranorex before the application can now be easily operated. **What problems is Ranorex Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a software solution that we want to test automatically on the UI side. We use Ranorex for our end-to-end tests and black box integration tests. The execution with Ranorex takes place at regular intervals as part of our pipelines. ### 7. Getting familiar with it is quite intuitive. The support has been perfect and very helpful so far. The tutorials and help available online (in English) are extensive and understandable. **What do you dislike about Ranorex Studio?** The fact that Ranorex is only available in English was initially disappointing. Small font. Lack of options to change default settings. Not reliably usable in combination with some open programs (MS-Teams). For mobile tests, the application must be uninstalled from the device and installed with an installation file. Personally, I miss shortcuts that would usually make work easier. **What problems is Ranorex Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tests in tables of our .Net application. The mobile application must be uninstalled with Ranorex before automated tests and reinstalled and freshly set up with the installation file for each test. Set up the Jenkins jobs in connection with Ranorex agents. ### 9.
