UI/UX: The drag-and-drop interface saves me hours every week when I’m placing modules. And because PVCAD runs natively inside AutoCAD, I’m not constantly switching between separate programs or trying to get comfortable in a completely different environment.

Integrations: The PVsyst export integration also saves me hours each week during simulation prep, since I don’t have to manually re-enter site data. Being able to import existing site files instead of redrawing everything from scratch has also taken a significant amount of time out of retrofit projects.

Performance: For rooftop and carport-scale jobs, layouts that used to take half a day now come together in an hour or two. On larger, denser sites, though, I’ve noticed some lag, so performance isn’t perfectly consistent across every project size.

Pricing/ROI: Between the PVCAD subscription and the required AutoCAD license, the upfront cost is substantial. That said, the faster plan-set turnaround and fewer rework cycles paid it back within the first few projects, so the ROI has been strong for us given our project volume.

Support/Onboarding: Support has been quick to respond whenever I’ve run into issues, and onboarding felt straightforward because most of the workflow builds on AutoCAD skills I already had.

AI/Intelligence: The automated stringing feature was an unexpected benefit. It consistently gets the electrical layout right and has caught errors I used to miss when I handled stringing manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
