What do you like best about Prolific?

I really like Prolific because it gives me the opportunity and experience to share my voice and opinions, both through text and voice. I also regularly take surveys for academic reasons, and I sometimes appreciate being rewarded for the time I put in. The site adapts to my educational background and location for research purposes, which helps me understand the context of each study and makes the overall experience easier to follow. What do you dislike about Prolific?

Overall, Prolific is a great platform, but there are a few areas that could be improved. In terms of Support and Onboarding, the UI/UX for the main profile setup feels somewhat restrictive. The drop-down menu options for demographic questions—especially around educational background and specialized skills—are too limited for my needs, and they don’t always reflect my current qualifications. Because of that, I feel these constraints can negatively affect the platform’s AI and demographic matching, which then leads to fewer relevant study invitations.

On the Pricing/ROI side, the minimum payout threshold feels a bit high (6). It means I have to spend more time accumulating earnings before I’m able to cash out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Prolific solving and how is that benefiting you?

First, UI/UX & Onboarding: The platform tackles the problem of overly complex survey sites by providing a clean, straightforward dashboard with clear instructions. This makes the initial setup simple and keeps navigation genuinely user-friendly.

Second, Performance & AI: Before using Prolific, I often ran into surveys that seemed relevant at first but ended up screening me out halfway through. Prolific’s matching system—while it can take some time—does a better job of filtering out unsuitable tasks from the start. That’s a big help, because it improves efficiency and saves me valuable time.

Pricing/ROI & Integration: The system also addresses unfair pay structures by ensuring decent compensation. This greatly reduces the chance of being disqualified during the initial selection phase after I’ve already invested time in a survey.
