## Progress Sitefinity Reviews
  ### 1. Streamlined Multi-Brand Management with Robust Personalization By The Power Of Progress Sitefinity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arikas Z. | Support System Tier ll, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The most valuable tools is the personalization engine in Progress Sitefinity, as it allows us to serve different content blocks to various visitor segments based on their location or behavior without needing any coding on the marketing side. This ease of use makes it quite impactful for the audience experience, providing them with content tailored to their needs. I also like the widget-based page builder. Our content editors can arrange pages independently without requiring a developer’s help every time they need to move something, which saves a lot of time. Additionally, the search chat content approach ensures our content isn't locked into one page layout, giving us a lot of flexibility.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I think the licensing cost is significant, and the pricing tiers aren't very transparent upfront. You really need to go through a sales conversation before you understand what you're actually paying for. The UI, while functional, feels outdated in some areas compared to newer CMS platforms. Some of the more advanced configurations still require developer involvement, even when it feels like they shouldn't. Documentation is decent but can lag behind when new features are rolled out.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Progress Sitefinity as a central hub for managing six brand websites, reducing duplicate works by allowing content to be created once and pushed across needed sites, cutting down repetitive work significantly.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on Progress Sitefinity. We're thrilled to hear that you find the personalization engine and widget-based page builder valuable for enhancing your audience's experience and streamlining content management.

We understand your concerns about licensing costs and transparency in pricing tiers. Your feedback on the UI and the need for developer involvement in advanced configurations is duly noted and has been passed to the relevant team members. We continuously strive to improve our platform and provide a seamless user experience.

We appreciate your insights on how Progress Sitefinity helps you manage multiple brand websites efficiently. If you have any further questions or need assistance with any aspect of the platform, please feel free to reach out. We're here to support you.

  ### 2. Marketing team finally stopped breaking the website

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gina P. | Marketing operations and integrations specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The drag and drop page builder is a complete game-changer, our marketing team is now able to update our landing pages in real time without waiting for our developers. These are also some of the most significant features of the personalization engine themselves: dynamically offer changes when a user is returning or have location-specific promotions for the user with specific behavior.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Learn curve for more advanced elements (such as custom widgets, automation etc.) is higher than promised - our devs had to go through additional training to get the most out of the platform. During busy periods the performance may have occasional spikes up and down, but usually this issue is resolved after some optimization.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Sitefinity we had to have all these small changes ticketed throughout the IT department before they could be resolved and campaigns were take weeks to go live. Now, marketing gets the whole piece of content from A/B testing headlines to scheduling posts, and, of course, without ever having to pick up the pencil and paper to write a single line of code. I think an example of that is we used to do a catalog for 3 days of our products, and now it's integrated with our PIM system so it syncs automatically.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Gina, thank you for sharing your feedback on Progress Sitefinity! We're thrilled to hear that the drag and drop page builder and personalization engine have been game-changers for your marketing team. We appreciate your insights on the learning curve for more advanced elements and occasional performance issues during busy periods. We'll make sure to pass this feedback along to our development team for further improvements. It's fantastic to hear how Sitefinity has streamlined your processes, allowing for real-time updates and seamless integration with your PIM system. If you have any further questions or need assistance with the platform, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help!

  ### 3. Streamlined Compliance and Efficient Workflow By Deploying Progress Sitefinity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wenzel M. | IT Manager Assistant 2, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I loved how well the multi-tiered workflow authorization engine in Progress Sitefinity. It has been incredibly valuable to our operation, especially for managing strict legal approval for sensitive corporate announcements, which used to stall out over messy email chains. The native workflow engine sends our drafts straight to the legal sign-off team based on specific user roles. It automatically tracks the compliance audit trail and prevents edits from going live without executive signatures. Additionally, synchronizing the system with our Microsoft Entra ID cloud directory architecture was entirely trouble-free. The out-of-the-box user mapping wizard allowed our system administrator to instantly link our existing corporate access tier and single sign-on tokens right into the CMS portal, letting employees access their custom dashboard using their current network credentials in just one day.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Things that are not really sitting well with us is the built-in visual text taxonomy, which is too basic for deep nested tracking. When classifying huge document libraries with complex subtopics, the interface struggles to show deep folder nesting patterns without forcing the page to load sluggishly. It also lacks a bug tagging mechanism for legacy PDF assets. They need to add a faster three-view menu for organizing heavy web taxonomies.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Progress Sitefinity solves our compliance documentation challenges by allowing us to publish a single master policy and distribute it across sub-portals, eliminating version control issues and department contact duplication.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Wenzel, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on your experience with Progress Sitefinity. We are thrilled to hear that the multi-tiered workflow authorization engine has been incredibly valuable for managing legal approvals and streamlining your operation.

We appreciate your constructive criticism regarding the visual text taxonomy and organization features. Your input is valuable to us, and we will share your feedback with our development team for future enhancements.

If you have any further suggestions or encounter any issues, please feel free to reach out to our support team. We are committed to continuously improving our platform to better meet your needs. Thank you for choosing Progress Sitefinity.

  ### 4. Progress Sitefinity Make It Easy For E-commerce Management with Strong Security

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nacsaj I. | Human Resource Exec 2, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Why I like Progress Sitefinity is for its optimization capabilities in conversion and A/B testing, which simplify my daily work without needing external script development. I can quickly create different variations of landing page chat buttons and, with our live traffic, test which design results in higher completed transactions. This is really useful for our ecommerce management as it helps us identify the most suitable designs and processes for a winning workflow. Additionally, I appreciate that all these tools are available on the same platform without the need for external software. The platform also makes staging to production site synchronization remarkably smooth, allowing us to push massive database schemes, page templates, and new code deployments efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The memory heavy application calls can be quite frustrating. Whenever we publish a deep structure code update or restart the web application pool, the initial page load time for the first visitor experience is delayed while the system compiles its page in the background.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Progress Sitefinity solves security vulnerabilities and reduces malware risks with its enterprise security framework. It unifies inventory display and checkout management for e-commerce and facilitates optimized conversion through A/B testing without external scripts.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Progress Sitefinity! We're thrilled to hear that you find our platform's optimization capabilities, A/B testing, and seamless workflow beneficial for your e-commerce management needs. We understand your concern about the initial page load time due to memory-heavy application calls and appreciate your feedback. Our team is continuously working on enhancing performance to provide a smoother user experience. If you have any specific suggestions or encounter any other issues, please feel free to reach out to our support team. We value your input and are committed to ensuring your satisfaction. Thank you for choosing Progress Sitefinity for your e-commerce operations!

  ### 5. Progress Sitefinity Help To Streamlines Localization with Powerful Workflow Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muaaz H. | Customer Support Agent Tier ll, Environmental Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I loved the modules that save me time and make my work easier, especially the built-in digital asset management. It has automatic image optimization tools that auto-crop, resize, and convert high-resolution media uploads into web-ready formats on the fly, eliminating manual asset preparation for our design team. I also appreciated how connecting our Salesforce CRM lead capture form was straightforward. The native connector maps our website's contact form to our production sales pipeline seamlessly, ensuring every inbound web inquiry is routed to the correct account executive within minutes of submission.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I experience some technical frustration with the internal site search configuration. It's overly complex to fine-tune. Adjusting the search index scoring to provide a specific new product document over all the archived blog posts requires navigating deep back-end settings that are far from intuitive.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Progress Sitefinity is my multi-language localization hub for coordinating and publishing compliance documentation. Its multi-tier workflow engine has stopped content update stalls by instantly routing drafts for legal sign-off, solving our approval bottleneck crisis.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Progress Sitefinity! We're thrilled to hear that you find the modules, especially the digital asset management feature, and the Salesforce CRM integration beneficial for your work efficiency.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the complexity of the internal site search configuration. We understand the importance of user-friendly settings and will take your comments into consideration for future improvements.

It's great to hear that Progress Sitefinity has helped streamline your content localization and approval processes, ultimately benefiting your compliance documentation workflow. If you need any assistance with the site search configuration or have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to our support team or your account manager. We're here to help!

  ### 6. Efficient Multi-Tenant Solution with Personalized Touch By Progress Sitefinity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishak Y. | Local Sales Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Things that I like is the cognitive persona personalization rules in Progress Sitefinity because they make the work easy by dynamically swapping the entire homepage, call to action, and case studies. This is all tailored in real-time based on the specific industry vertical or geographic region of the incoming visitor. Every access to the website is carefully curated to match the region and IP address of the visitors, which is super useful. Additionally, the API endpoint configuration is surprisingly straightforward to implement. The pull in/out data service allowed us to instantly expose our existing CMS content to our external mobile applications and portals with zero custom back-end coding.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The version life cycle updates are heavily resource-intensive, taking up too much of our CPU. Transitioning between major releases, like moving legacy pages to newer .NET Core frameworks, is far from a one-click process and requires significant database backup and developer code refactoring.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Progress Sitefinity as our multitenant digital hub for deploying, updating, and maintaining over 20 localized global brand websites. It solves content bottlenecks and developer dependency isolation, allowing nontechnical staff to modify layouts safely. API endpoint configuration is straightforward, instantly exposing CMS content with zero backend coding.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on Progress Sitefinity! We're thrilled to hear that you find the cognitive persona personalization rules and API endpoint configuration beneficial for your websites. We understand your concerns regarding the resource-intensive version life cycle updates and the complexity of transitioning between major releases. ### 7. Drag-and-drop page builder let our marketing team update content without IT

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick G. | Marketing Technologist, Professional Training & Coaching, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The drag and drop page builder is extremely intuitive and even my non-developer coworkers can build, edit, and modify the pages without breaking anything. The personalization engine is a piece to highlight as well, we can display different CTAs to newbies, different ones to repeat shoppers, etc. Real time analytics dashboard is built in to provide live information about the performance of a page and we can adjust content on the spot.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

It takes a steep learning curve to be able to customize some of its features, such as .Limited independence of our marketing team due to NET knowledge. Upgrade can cause disruption, sometimes even causing custom widgets to become disrupted until we manually correct them. The pricing structure also rapidly becomes costly if you want high-priced modules such as enhanced marketing automation.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From content creation to lead tracking, all is now available in one platform! Our marketing team are no longer waiting for IT to update our pages and the personalisation tools have helped increase engagement by 30%. The feature of their SEO recommendations also made it easy to rank our site without the assistance of a search engine expert. It has saved us time, cut down on the tools we use and made our website truly functional for our business.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on Progress Sitefinity! We're thrilled to hear that you find the drag-and-drop page builder and personalization engine intuitive and effective. We understand your concerns about the learning curve for customization and potential disruptions during upgrades. We appreciate your insights on pricing and will take this into consideration for future improvements. It's fantastic to hear that Sitefinity has streamlined your content creation process and improved engagement by 30%! We'd love to assist you further with any customization challenges and ensure a smoother upgrade experience. Please feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance. Thank you for choosing Progress Sitefinity!

  ### 8. Centralized Omnichannel Content Management with Sitefinity Is The Most Easiest

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Imanda I. | Office Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I like how Progress Sitefinity to be working very well as our omnichannel content hub. It serves as the single source of truth for our primary marketing sites, mobile apps, news feeds, and customer-facing portal, allowing us to manage hybrid-less delivery from a single end. I really like the AI-enhanced media search, as it makes my daily work easier by helping me find high-resolution assets using AI prompts, like searching for a person using a laptop.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The image auditing capabilities are frustratingly limited. It is currently very difficult to see exactly which page or widgets are actively using a specific image, which makes pruning our asset library risky and can lead to broken links if the image that I am deleting is still actively used.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Progress Sitefinity solves content duplication across languages, centralizing brand control and synchronizing messaging. The AI-enhanced media search simplifies finding high-resolution assets, making my daily work easier.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Progress Sitefinity! We're thrilled to hear that our platform is serving as a reliable omnichannel content hub for your marketing needs. Your feedback on the AI-enhanced media search is greatly appreciated, and we're glad it's making your daily work easier.

We understand your concerns about the image auditing capabilities, and we appreciate your feedback on this aspect. We're continuously working to improve our platform, and your input will be shared with our team for further consideration.

If you have any specific suggestions or would like us to follow up on any issues you're facing, please feel free to reach out to our support team. We're here to assist you and ensure you have a seamless experience with Progress Sitefinity. Thank you for choosing us as your content management solution!

  ### 9. Feature-Rich but Not User-Friendly Enough

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brajesh P. | Website and Software Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I like the drag and drop facilities available in Progress Sitefinity. It's easy to grip pages, navigate, and do a lot of things with images, videos, and iFrames. You just drag and drop inside, which is quite convenient. I also appreciate that there are a lot of good features for the site, and the security purpose is very good. The support is also very good, which is important for maintaining the site.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I faced the problem that it's not user-friendly compared to WordPress and other platforms. Sometimes, it's time-consuming to edit or upload and save changes. It takes a lot of time to upload sometimes, which I think needs to be improved. Editing for the user perspective needs more work to allow better collaboration and features like preview could be added.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Progress Sitefinity for our Black Box website, handling backend edits. It offers drag and drop facilities, making it easier to add images and videos. I've seen improvement in site speed and security, which is good.

**Official Response from Maria Sweeney:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback on Progress Sitefinity. We're thrilled to hear that you appreciate the drag and drop features, security measures, and support provided. We understand your concerns about user-friendliness and are continuously working on enhancing the user experience and improving efficiency in editing and uploading processes. Your input is valuable to us, and we will take your suggestions into consideration for future updates. If you have any specific issues or suggestions for improvement, please feel free to reach out to our support team. We are here to assist you and ensure you have a seamless experience with Progress Sitefinity.

  ### 10. Progress Sitefinity - affordable and flexible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The platform is regularly updated and is comparatively easy for use for our range of content editors and admins.. The pricing is also highly competitive (at least for the self-hosted option)

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Some of the features are non-intuitive and permissions, while granular, are often quite complex to manage in a way that aligns with our goals. Many of the integrations have been deprecated or don't work as well as they should, but the API and web service support is very good.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Sitefinity provides a huge number of features out of the box, and it has improved year on year in our experience. The licensing model is very competitive and the support staff are responsive and knowledgeable. It comfortably sits in the middle ground between open-source, highly adaptable platforms, and higher cost, fully-featured platforms. Deriving best value from the platform will still require software/web development expertise, but at a less intensive degree that more expensive options.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very easy for us to develop custom content types for a range of different content management and presentation needs, and pair these with simple to use frontend templates and design options.
