What do you dislike about Productive?
The biggest downside for us is a handful of missing features that force us to keep another platform in our tech stack. We’d love to see built-in questionnaire templates for client onboarding. Ideally, we could create a questionnaire once, customize it when needed, send it directly to a client, and have their responses automatically stored within the relevant client or project. Right now, we still rely on Dubsado for this. Contracts are another gap. It would be helpful to have contract templates inside Productive that we could edit for each client, send for e-signature, and then store directly within the client or project record. Again, we currently need Dubsado for this. The biggest issue for us, though, is recurring task visibility within workload planning. A large portion of our agency work runs on recurring tasks, with thousands generated each month. Future recurring tasks do not appear in workload planning until they are created based on the recurrence schedule. This makes future capacity look more open than it actually is. For an agency trying to plan team capacity around signed, paid client work, this creates a major challenge. We know the work is coming, but Productive does not fully reflect it in advance. Being able to see the future workload created by recurring tasks would make capacity planning much more accurate and useful for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recommendations to others considering Productive:
To enhance Productive's functionality, we recommend integrating built-in questionnaire templates for client onboarding and contract templates for easy customization and e-signature. Additionally, improving the visibility of future recurring tasks in workload planning would significantly aid in accurate capacity planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is Productive solving and how is that benefiting you?
Productive helps us solve a lot of the operational challenges that come with managing multiple clients, projects, budgets, and team members at the same time. The biggest benefit is project management. We’re able to organize work clearly, assign tasks, manage deadlines, and keep multiple projects moving without losing visibility across the agency. It also gives us much stronger financial visibility. We use Productive for budget tracking, profitability tracking, time tracking, and reporting, which helps us understand where projects stand financially and whether we’re delivering work efficiently. From a team management perspective, it gives us a much clearer view of who is responsible for what, how work is progressing, and where capacity is being used. Having project delivery, financial data, and team management connected in one system makes running the agency significantly easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
