Interface is simple

Loads of brushes

Loads of textures

Unlimited colors

What do you dislike about Procreate?

The selection tool is little cumbersome to use

There is no brush that is good for filling colors. There is always some gap.

There is no fill option

Recommendations to others considering Procreate:

If you like the traditional paper and pencil style, then there is nothing better than Procreate. Go for it.

Even if you don't know drawing, but have some imagination, you can do well. There is plenty of help while drawing and expressing your imagination.

You can do storyboard within procreate on a layer and then draw your actual thing on top of that layer

The alpha lock, clipping mask and masks work great and are excellent to use.

You need an apple pencil - from any generation for sure to comfortably use procreate.

The canvas size and the number of layers depends on the resolution and RAM of your iPAD.

I strongly recommend Procreate and it is very affordable currently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Procreate solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have drawn loads of props and characters and I animate them. I specialize in creating animated books from children books. Procreate is a tool that I go to often to get the best textures and realistic effects.

What do you like best about Procreate?

My favorite thing about Procreate is how easy it is to use and how seamlessly it fits into my creative workflow. I can rely on it for quick sketches as well as high-quality finished pieces, and I end up using Procreate at some point in every project. It’s also been consistently reliable for me. I’ve never run into any software issues that even required reaching out to their support team. Overall, it’s a great tool, and I’d recommend it to any artist. What do you dislike about Procreate?

What I appreciate most about Procreate is how naturally it mimics drawing on paper. The Apple pencil feels smooth and responsive. Custom brush imports offer great flexibility, and the time-lapse feature has been especially helpful for reviewing my process and steadily improving my techniques over time. "I'm in love with Procreate!"

What do you like best about Procreate?

I love the simple and easy to use interface. It makes drawings and design 100 times easier. The brush selection rivals photoshop. I love that it's not subscription based and does most if not all of what Photoshop does. You pay one small fee and it's yours for life. What do you like best about Procreate?

I like that procreate is very intuitive and easy to use. It eases user tasks with the efficient use of gestures. While using it, I found myself amused by its many features and I look forward to exploring more of them. What do you like best about Procreate?

The tool is incredibly flexible, allowing for a wide variety of illustration styles utlizing realistic and responsive brushes. Built-in animation is an added bonus, and the cherry on top is that you pay once and never, ever have to give them another cent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only real drawback is that it doesn't work for creating vector graphics. Adobe has a similar app that does, but Adobe lacks many of the drawing features (line and shape snapping come ti mind) that make sketching and concept ideation fly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Procreate solving and how is that benefiting you?

For general design work, Procreate bridges the gap for me between initial sketches on paper and creating finished graphics. I can refine easily and flexibly with a familiar feeling tool before jumping into more intensive desktop app work.
