What do you like best about Perplexity?

It has completely replaced standard Google searching for my day-to-day work. Instead of opening 10 tabs, scanning through fluff, and manually compiling answers, Perplexity gives a synthesized summary with clear footnotes to the original pages right away. The Pro search feature is great when I need a multi-step dive into complex topics, and the Focus modes (like Academic or Writing) help narrow the scope so I don't get irrelevant web clutter. What do you dislike about Perplexity?

While citations are its core selling point, they aren't always 100% reliable. Occasionally, it generates 'phantom' citations—linking to a generic homepage or an article that doesn't actually contain the specific figure or quote it cited. You still have to manually verify sources for high-stakes reports, which slightly defeats the purpose of automated fact-checking. What problems is Perplexity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Standard AI models (like base ChatGPT) don't have real-time web access out of the box without browsing plugins, and their knowledge cutoffs lead to outdated answers. On the flip side, search engines just dump raw links without summarizing the context. Now perplexity bridges the gap between a search engine and an executive assistant. I use it to get quick summaries of industry news, vendor comparisons, and quick policy lookups during my day-to-day workflow. It frees up mental bandwidth and prevents tab overload.
