I really value Pennylane's robust OCR and automated bank-matching feature. It quickly extracts line-item details and VAT values from incoming supplier invoices, which significantly reduces repetitive manual typing work for our accounting team. I also appreciate its clean dashboard that provides instant visibility over outstanding payables. Additionally, I find Pennylane’s native ZUGFeRD e-invoice handling extremely useful, as it parses structured digital invoices from vendors without any extra conversion work. The biggest pain point for us is Pennylane's incomplete alignment with German GoBD rules. It cannot generate tamper-proof audit trails, and native DATEV integration is unstable for regular data hand-offs. Tax-ready report formats for local authorities are also missing. When auditors request financial records, we can't directly hand over Pennylane exports. We have to rework and re-format datasets manually, which adds extra hours each month and raises the risk of human error during our compliance preparation work. Tailoring Pennylane for German GoBD compliance created extra work since there are no local-region preset configurations.
