Founder/Owner Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) 7/29/2017 "PayPal Is a MUST For Your Business!" 5/5 What do you like best about PayPal Payments? I really don't know of anyone who does not use PayPal. It's been the standard for online payments since I can remember. PayPal allows you to make transactions online by allowing you to transfer funds electronically between individuals and businesses. You don't need a PayPal account to use PayPal to make transactions, but there are many perks that can come if you make an account. If you have funds in your PayPal account, you may pay with that. All major credit and debit cards are also accepted. Bank accounts (after you complete the verification process) are also accepted for payment and you may also transfer funds from your bank account to your PayPal balance. If you also use PayPal regularly, you can sign up for the PayPal Debit MasterCard. This has been a lifesaver for me as I use PayPal more than my regular bank and being able to take my electronic money and use it in the physical world (non-online payments) has been wonderful! For businesses using PayPal primarily, I would highly recommend signing up for PayPal Here. PayPal Here allows you to get a Credit/Debit Card Reader for real world physical purchases. They offer a (first time only) free basic card reader and also a more expensive card reader that supports the CHIP and fraud protection. There are a few new start-up businesses I've visited in my area who have been using this. You also have the ability to send invoices via email. And again, no PayPal account is required to pay on these invoices. So this is essential for business as you can send out PayPal invoices for payment to your customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about PayPal Payments? 3-10 days for bank transfers/"e-checks." I abosolutely hate this. Not even my bank takes that long for transfers and deposits. As I type this review I am currently waiting on a refund that was funded by a bank account to clear. Also, FEES! PayPal knows they are the King of the Mountain. And their currency conversion fees and invoices fees are outrageous! Poor customer support. Most of the support agents I've gotten or foreign people whom I cannot understand. Cocky and disrespectful kids who seem to know nothing about their job. Or, my favorite, no one. Because the lines are busy. Lastly, their dispute process. I have lost up to a total of $150 while using PayPal in my life because PayPal's dispute system is ridiculous. Being the King of online payments, you would think they would understand the simple concept of online fraud. As in a seller lists a fake product, you buy it sadly and the product is not as described or you just don't get anything at all. Well PayPal doesn't understand this concept and I have sadly lost many disputes. Other than that, I love PayPal! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering PayPal Payments: If you have an online business and you are not using PayPal, I don't honestly know how you are receiving payments. What problems is PayPal Payments solving and how is that benefiting you? PayPal has allowed my business (also with the help of FastSpring) to become essentially global. With FastSpring's (my e-commerce platform) automatic language detection and VAT coverage, combined with PayPal's support of all worldwide currencies, I never have to turn any customer down. Anyone on earth with any currency or language can purchase from me. So thanks to that, my brand can have a global impact. Which it already has as I have had customers from all over the globe!
