**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I would say it's the ease of use. It's easy to figure out, and it is organized very well. And if we don't know where something is, the help desk is super helpful. Also, Paylocity has a lot of modules that make a smooth workflow from recruiting to onboarding, to performance and engagement, making our jobs in human resources a lot easier because everything is in one place.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I would say the I-9 process is a bit cumbersome. You have to delete out the task from onboarding and then reassign it if the employee completes something wrong, which takes a little bit longer. Also, I would say some of the reporting functions could be improved as well.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity has modules for the entire employee life cycle making our HR jobs easier by keeping everything in one place.

I like the ease of use and especially the mobile app for employees. The modules are pretty self-explanatory and user friendly for both the HR team and employees.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Sometimes random permissions get turned off, or I feel like I get different answers from the service team on some items. Also I feel like we do send in tickets and it doesn't always get answered.

One system. we used to have to log in to so many systems. Paylocity really helped change the game for us by having everyone on one platform.

Overall, the reporting features are solid, but there’s still room to improve in a few areas.  For example, self service custom report building feature could be more robust

The day to day time suck of tracking time and the complexity of doing payroll in 10 states.

Airbase streamlines invoice and expense management for me, saving precious time and giving me instant access to an audit trail whenever I or a supplier has a query that needs resolving,

I struggle with the reports. I wish when something was entered in Paylocity you could switch to the Payroll side and see instant results every time. Example would be 401k - I enter on the HR side and cannot see the actual deduction until payroll has been processed.

**Recommendations to others considering Paylocity:**

block time off for training. Most training is on your own.

I like the 360 feature submitting benefits directly to vendors.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I appreciate that it’s a self-service portal for our employees. Prior to Paylocity, we used an HRIS that operated as a PEO, and employee feedback indicated they felt a lack of control over their personal information, as they often had to contact a representative for assistance.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

At times, our HR team experiences a lack of detailed communication from our representatives. We’re also not always notified when system issues or “glitches” occur, which can result in extended wait times for resolution. We've also encountered tax-related challenges, including late filings.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're currently working with the tax team to resolve the late filings.

The best thing about Paylocity is the onboarding experience.

Reporting, recruiting module, ability to bulk download after transition, company code set up for multi company set up.

Paylocity works well out of the box—if your business isn’t very complex, it can be a great fit. But if you’re growing and your needs are becoming more complex, it doesn’t feel like a great investment.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

Paylocity provides superior client service support each time I call for assistance.  If my own account manager is not available, another manager will assist. It is by far super helpful to get support in the moment of an issue, rather than having to wait.  I also appreciate the personalized account manager, as they have all been very on top of email questions, new requests, and showing me how to handle various issues or steps in the system. It is beyond important for me to have a relationship with a provider of a system that I am working in daily, who works with my level of understanding of the system, who provides good tools for training, and is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I have a company set account with 4 companies and when I added the 3rd and 4th company, it wasn't as easy as COPY and PASTE from the prior companies.  What I essentially wanted to have happen was mirror the prior companies set-up, but with a new Company name, bank account, and EIN. It was not a seamless process and we still run into issues. However, PL is very helpful in fixing the issues.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running a one stop HRIS system, where they are not also trying to sell me additional services that don't apply.  They are the subject matter expert for HRIS, not a 401k account. Prior carriers tried to sell me other services. I love that all pieces speak to one another, history is easy to locate, they are on top of the latest law changes, always improving (even when I think the system is good).

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I really appreciate the Google extension of Grayscale which makes it extremely easy to use, whether I am using Greenhouse or on a different page entirely. This feature makes the tool very accessible compared to alternatives like Google Voice, as it simplifies the process of reaching out. The ability to immediately follow up an email sent from Greenhouse with a text message using Grayscale allows me to engage with candidates from multiple angles, which has significantly improved my communication efficiency. I also found the setup process for Grayscale to be straightforward and quick, allowing me and my team to get started without any delays and easily integrate it into our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I'm accustomed to hitting 'enter' to send messages or 'shift + enter' to start a new line. In Grayscale, there's no way to send a message without physically clicking the send button with the mouse. I'd prefer having a shortcut to streamline this process.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Grayscale to follow up on emails with texts, improving responses by reaching out from multiple angles and integrating seamlessly with Greenhouse.

I like not having to use an actual time clock, entering hours and processing pay checks.  All of the Government forms, etc. are done by Paylocity which is a relief.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The thing that I like the least is that when I need help with something I get emailed back instructions.  If I run into an issue trying to complete the task, I get another email back with instructions.  Very rarely do I speak with a person and walk through it.

Paylocity is both user-friendly and intuitive. If you have any level of tech savvy, you can navigate the system with minimal or even no training. This has truly been a game changer for us, especially since our team is so small. We need to be able to adapt quickly and operate independently, often with little to no external support.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Customer service is not as accessible as I would prefer. Over the past few years, we have had multiple account managers, which has occasionally made it challenging to resolve issues when we are unable to find solutions ourselves.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity's recruiting and onboarding features have truly been a game changer for us, especially after losing the team members who previously managed these processes. Thanks to the system's user-friendly design, we've been able to handle the extra workload without difficulty.

I think the system still has bugs that need to be improved. When I am going through the recruiting process, at times the system will get stuck in a loop.

I like the one all in one platform, easy to move through recruiting to onboarding.   
Customer support, most of the employees are friendly and knowledgeable or will assist with finding the answer for you.  

Employees utilize the app without any difficulty. Just starting to push through notifications

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The downside is not having a dedicated manager that is easily accessible. We do have access to someone when we call in; however, it is not a dedicated person that is familiar with our  company

It increases payroll processing efficiency by streamlining the time and attendance process.  Automated compliance for tax calculations, payments and filings.  From the employee side, availability to their timecards, pay stubs, PTO requests, and other benefits.

The time it takes for benefits and PTO to sync between modules.  It would be nice if there were a manual process to initiate the sync.

Their customer service. Any time I have a question or need assistance with anything I can always give them a call and each and every representative is very helpful. If they don't know the answer, they will get you to the person who does.

I don't think it's Paylocity's fault, but not offering different formats for specific reports.

The best thing I like about Paylocity is the user friendly aspect of it and the tax portion that has the tax team register for us.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The least thing I like about Paylocity is the reporting. It is not easy to create a report as I put the most straight forward information in and it often pulls a blank report. I have built many reports with other platforms and this is by far the most frustrating.

Easy tax enrollment. Takes time off our plate.

I like that Paylocity automates payroll and provides an employee portal for team members to update their personal information. The program has everything the team members need, which I find really handy. Additionally, the Learning Module is a great feature because it tracks our internal courses in the academy we created.

I like Paylocity's knowledge base within the portal; it is easy to search for things that I have questions about. I also like that I can call their customer service line and they are readily available to answer any questions. The self-service portal is very important because we value our employees' experience. We like for them to be able to locate what they need without having to search for it. It's all right in the self-service section. Additionally, Paylocity integrates with our 401K provider, which is convenient.

I use Paylocity to track timecards and payroll, solving manual recording issues and helping set up deduction codes. The self-service portal improves employee experience by making necessary information easily accessible.

The call-center employees are very pleasant and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

There seems to be updates and changes to the portal every week - and I am not even notified of the update.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I currently have a problem with overnight shift hours calculating correctly in the schedule section that shows below the timecards.  Employees who work 10pm-8am (for example) show a shift of 2 hours, not 10 hours.  Paylocity has suggested a work-around since the hours are not calculating correctly.  This is what we do, but we should not have to remember to add in our heads - Paylocity should have the accurate information at all times.

There is no functionality for employees to easily see their total PTO used year-to-date. This is a major hiccup that I wish could be fixed. In the app, employees are able to see the amount of PTO currently available, but there is no way to forecast out how much time they'll have available to use by the end of the year.

At the end of the year, it is nearly impossible to get help. Today I was on hold for 1.5 hours and ended up getting hung up on. I almost never get to speak with my actual account manager. My most recent encounter with him, he told me he has too much to do for the end of the year and basically said we are not a priority. The only thing that was hard during setup was time off that is on an accrual basis.

Limitations around types of contributions for benefit plans that we have had to resolve after the mistake occurred, e.g. employee elected two different types of contributions and Paylocity only recognized one. Information can be difficult to find sometimes and you have to click through various menus to finally find what you are looking for

HR and payroll services, along with transferring data to outside systems and submitting tax information to the correct authorities.

As a customer since 2013, I wanted to share my positive experience with Paylocity. It's truly an all-in-one system that streamlines every step of the employment process, from tracking applicants and hiring to managing current and former employees.

Additionally, their HR support is incredibly valuable for legal concerns. I've found the HR & Payroll and Time & Labor modules to be particularly wonderful once fully implemented. I also appreciate how customizable the entire system is.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

About two years ago we added Paylocity's Time and Labor and time clocks to our HR & Payroll system, and while the initial implementation was challenging, the system has been great since it went live.

We occasionally experience minor issues with the overall Paylocity system, but their customer support is very responsive and easy to contact. For any custom configurations, their support team is helpful, though it can sometimes take a bit of back-and-forth to finalize everything.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been very pleased with the integration of Paylocity's Time and Labor module into our existing HR and Payroll system. This addition has created a comprehensive, all-in-one support system for all our HR operations.

Specifically, running payroll has become significantly more precise and efficient. The ability to cross-check employee punches with hour summaries during payroll preparation, combined with the robust reporting features, has been incredibly helpful in ensuring all employees are paid accurately.

I love the employee self-service option, as it frees up a significant amount of my time, allowing employees to manage their profiles independently without needing my intervention constantly. The automation of our onboarding process, shifting from manual paper forms to a more streamlined digital approach, has been a game-changer. Additionally, Paylocity provides a wealth of reporting options, far surpassing what we had with our previous vendor. The platform is notably easy to use with time-saving features that I highly value. The initial setup was smooth and organized, thanks to a structured implementation process staffed with dedicated specialists for different modules, including payroll, onboarding, 401k integration, and general ledger setup. I also appreciate the capability to integrate Paylocity with Empower, our 401k provider. My overall experience has been positive, and I'm highly likely to recommend Paylocity, as reflected by my score of 10 out of 10.

I found the data migration process from our previous system to Paylocity challenging. Some information did not transfer correctly, causing issues that had to be addressed. Although Paylocity handled these problems quickly, the initial data migration could be smoother

There are dozes on 'system errors' that are not resolved for months or ever (my current exp at a new customer), implementation was not complete prior to moving to service, every enhancement request is declined, integration required an excess amount of involvement and took a very long time.

Some of the reports can only be ran in PDF, and we like our reports in Excel. I would prefer to have reports available in Excel.

I find the biggest challenge within Paylocity's service is their support ticketing system. They tend to close out tickets without actually resolving the issues, which means the problems still persist for us. The rate at which support tickets receive responses and are resolved could definitely be improved. I believe adding more support team members could help manage the volume of tickets better and ensure issues are genuinely fixed. Additionally, confirming with clients that their issues have been resolved before closing tickets would greatly enhance the support process.

I utilize Paylocity to streamline recruitment and onboarding, effectively finding promising candidates and bringing new hires onboard seamlessly. The messaging feature enhances communication with candidates and supports employee engagement, allowing everyone to stay updated on candidate status.
