Paylocity gives us centralized access to most, if not all, of our services. The report-building tools are pretty user-friendly and the platform feels fairly intuitive overall. Even when the AI can’t answer a specific question, it still points me to potentially related articles, which is helpful. It also stays pretty up to date on features.
Another plus is that it lets us match cost center information with our separate accounting software. Paylocity runs smoothly, with very little wait time between pages. It also felt more reasonable than other HCMs offering similar services.
Customer support has been pretty friendly. Even when I can’t get ahold of my representative, someone else is available to help. In my experience, they’ve been patient and easy to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some features have been removed in updates, such as no longer being able to set temporary passwords for employees. Not everyone is technologically savvy, and some people need more hand-holding. We also can’t sort, filter, or search by Social Security Number anymore. On top of that, the help documents don’t get updated at the same time the system changes, which makes it harder to keep up.
I’ve also noticed that certain features or fields can behave differently depending on which browser you’re using, so it’s something to be aware of. During our move from our old HCM, not all data was ported over correctly; for employees with multiple start/stop dates, some information was missing. The rep assigned to help with our transition to Paylocity left before everything was completed, so we were essentially orphaned mid-setup.
Finally, setting up certain services has been painful. Some 3rd Party companies have had trouble getting us the information we needed, and Paylocity reps have also made mistakes when entering that information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
