After interviewing two talented designers, I chose one to work with. It turns out he’s a superstar who also works for a major agency and big clients. I’ve been collaborating with him since then. **What do you dislike about Pangea.app?** There isn't much more to say — it effectively connects you with skilled freelancers, which I find to be a better experience than using Fiverr, and it also manages the billing process. There are few kinks with the UI but they are quickly being fixed. **What problems is Pangea.app solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's great to be able to find top talent to collaborate with, without the hassle of drafting a custom contract for each engagement. I also appreciate the protection offered if something goes wrong. ### 2. While this is for the best and it helps them onboard quality clients, it was a bit unorthodox. Pangea was able to provide talent that had fairly extensive experience in what I was looking for and I was happy to pay the cost. **What do you dislike about Pangea.app?** It's still in it's earlier stages as a company so there are a few technical kinks to work out but the founder Adam is incredibly responsive and involved in product development and those issues have never impacted the benefits that I'm able to get out of the platform. **What problems is Pangea.app solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need to find affordable developer talent that matches the needs of my business and this is what Pangea provides. ### 4. It's also just a great app concept - as a student, it is frustrating how you need experience to get experience and Pangea is the perfect platform to break that loop. I got my first full-time job in large part because of the freelance work I did through Pangea - for that, I'll always be grateful. The team is also amazing! I met with Kacie Galligan to talk about my onboarding into a company and she was super cool; it really does feel like the team cares about Pangeans' success :) **What do you dislike about Pangea.app?** There is really nothing specific I dislike about Pangea, but there could be a few improvements: the community tab could get more visibility (maybe having some sort of monthly community newsletter to highlight Pangeans' victories?). The "Seeds" addition should also be more developed: it would be nice to have a more standardized process, like the other Pangea job applications. **What problems is Pangea.app solving and how is that benefiting you?** Pangea is solving my need to work part-time, remotely, while earning experience and a considerable salary! Furthermore, as a student, this app has been indispensable to me for developing resume skills, specifically research, analysis, Microsoft Suite, and communication, amongst others. ### 7. I have seen Pangea go through many different approaches to its platform and each time, talent and companies remain at the core. Their commitment to the people they are servicing helps them improve their offering and it will continue to become even more sticky with users. **What do you dislike about Pangea.app?** I have applied to about 6 jobs on their platform and never heard back from any of the companies. It would be helpful if the company had to respond to the candidates, even if it was programmed so that we can learn that we are not being considered for the job. When you don't receive feedback or notice about the job you applied to, it can be demoralizing and lead you to apply to fewer jobs for fear that you won't hear back. **What problems is Pangea.app solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are giving students and recent graduates the opportunity to find additional or full-time work while refining their skills and earning money. In today's economy, it is natural to pick up additional short-term jobs to make more money and Pangea makes that possible for people outside the design space, which UpWork or Fiverr prioritizes. ### 8. Pangea has a larger pool of applicants to pick from so you can find exactly what you need for your job. I also like that Pangea takes care of the 1099 forms so you don't have to worry about that during tax season. **What do you dislike about Pangea.app?** There is nothing I dislike about Pangea. I have been very lucky, although I am old school and don't use the app. I always log on to my laptop because it is easier to see everything. I know an app is important for a lot of users though. **What problems is Pangea.app solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need graphic designers and Pangea is an excellent place to find people with the talent you need. ### 9. I have personally benefitted greatly from opportunities in Data Analytics and Product Management, and those experiences have allowed me to get internships and full-time offers from F500 companies. Overall, a great platform to gain experience working for startups and gaining experience in your chosen field. **What do you dislike about Pangea.app?** I do not see any downsides besides I would love to see more opportunities in the Product and Engineering areas, but again that depends on the startups and their hiring needs. **What problems is Pangea.app solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's the only platform that allows companies to hire college students as freelancers and therefore the talent pool is much less competitive, unlike Upwork or Fiverr. The opportunities are also curated for college students and I love that about Pangea. ### 10.
