I'm using Original Software's TestBench and TestDrive on a daily basis for the past 1.5 years at my Company, I'm mainly using for test automation for our legancy Mainframe IBMi systems. As a QA Test Lead, I did an extensive market research while developing our Test Automation Strategy, and I can confidently say that Original Software emerged as the clear leader in IBMi automation with no competitors. One of the outstanding key differenciator of Original Software is its versatility, while it excels in automating IBMi applications, it is equally capable of automating any type of applications like web app, mobile app, API's, desktop applications, etc. It's basically a One-Stop-Stop for all your automation needs. TestDrive Tool had a user-friendly interface, The straightforward navigation significantly reduces the learning curve for new users and even non-technical users, Thanks to their LMS for a well documented learning portal. Original Software's customer support is excellent in my experience . Their team is always available and consistently responds to my queries almost immediately, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction that is truly commendable. In summary, Original Software's TestBench and TestDrive have not only streamlined our testing processes but have also provided us with confidence in our automation strategy. What do you dislike about Original Software? While I have had a largely positive experience with Original Software's TestBench and TestDrive, there are some areas that could benefit from improvement. During a proof of concept (POC) for our web application test automation using TestDrive, we encountered some challenges, particularly for non-technical team members. Although it is marketed as a low code no code automation tool, we found that automating more complex scenarios required a certain level of development knowledge. This was a challenge for my team as we lacked having resources with a strong technical background, also limited the usage of tool by other non-tech users in the department such as BA's & Managers. At my company we still use the legacy Mainframe application - IBMi, which was previously known as AS400 or Green Screen. We decided to Test Automate IBMi and the immediate challenge we encountered was choosing a Tool that's best suited for such a legacy application with outdated programming language.While there are many toold that claims to automate a mainframe, but they don't support IBMi green screen, There comes Original Software, It seems like they are the one and only company who can seamlessly automate AS400. With their TestBench we have automated Data extraction, Data anonimisation or data scrambling process which has made our lifes so much easier now. Currently I'm in the process of evaluating TestDrive for IBMi and I believe the results will be fruitful. This transition will benefit our testing team for our team, as we spend lot of time in doing repeated tasks manually.
