When you say Database, Oracle is the first name that comes to the mind. It does a great job and checks all the boxes on the requirements list for a good RDBMS like the ACID properties, transaction management, virtual private directory and security policies. It integrates well with all different kinds of applications with easy UI setup to choose what individual products we want or a simpler standard installation. Depending on your tier of association (Gold, silver or platinum), you will have different SLAs for support - irrespective of tier, you get a standard on-boarding support. Its comparatively cheaper in the RDBMS landscape as they are the one of pioneers in this landscape. They do have few AI features but didnt get chance to test these. **What do you dislike about Oracle Database?** Nothing much to dislike about this as it meets all the basic requirements expected. Only complaint though would be that its a bit slow sometimes. **What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?** For any product, data is life line and blood stream. So, we need a place to store this data and mostly for our products, the data is relational in nature. Hence, we needed a relational DBMS and Oracle is perfect as it meets all the requirements of the product. ### 2. I used it frequently as during my audit procedures for a US client. I had the access to the client's profile. At times in case we faced any issues we contacted the customer support through email or submitted a request and received response usually within 24 hours. The client during 2020 transitioned from Netsuite to Oracle and the implementation process was very smooth and easy. Further, the application could be easily integrated to other softwares used by the company- such as leasequery and could be assessed through Oracle. Overall, in my opinion it was the best system ever used. **What do you dislike about Oracle Database?** I personally faced issues with report generation—it felt a bit complicated and tedious to figure out which report is meant for which purpose and what results each one will produce. Similarly the journal entry recording process is a bit tidious. **What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used Oracle as a part of my audit procedures. I used the database of client to download the info from Oracle directly and use as a part of my audit. It made our work seemless as it was a storage house of all information related to the business at one place. One stop shop- for all the reports, information, GL, receivables payables details- everything was easily accessible. Overall, it was very easy to understand without any formal training of the same. Having such databases which are so easy to figure out and work on are a boon for businesses. ### 4. Very easy to use and integration. **What do you dislike about Oracle Database?** I can't speak for everyone, but in my experience, Oracle's software is generally quite reliable. The design and engineering behind their RDBMS, Grid, and RAC systems are so well-crafted that I find them genuinely impressive. While the execution is typically solid, there have been some significant missteps in the past. On the other hand, Oracle as a corporation is about as profit-driven as they come, and their support desk has never been the same since the acquisition of Sun Microsystems. **What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?** Oracle has every option that you can imagine, SMON, PMON, DBWTR, etc to mysqld one process that is Multi Threaded, but a single point of contention. An Oracle Cluster can provide a fault tolerance seamless experience if one of the servers in the cluster goes down. While MySQL has the Primary Key which is a Clustered Index, the clustered index is prepended to secondary indexes, which could create indexes to be larger than the data inside the ibd file, assuming you are using file per table, while Oracle you are able to store data in one datafile and the indexes in another data file, while you have the ability to spread those datafiles across spindles, while MySQL you need to rely on the number and size of disks and how many disks can be stripped. ### 7. I like its performance as as well as the security features that it has the advanced tools of Oracle, which are for data backup and recovery are also very useful in my Data analyst role that it supports complex queries and integration very easily that makes it ideal for me and my analytical and enterprise level application. It’s a scall ability and consistency are key advantage for for my data-driven tasks. **What do you dislike about Oracle Database?** While Oracle data was is a powerful and very useful to for me, but sometimes when I try to do some complex query, then it takes a lot of time and it can be quite complex to manage and configure the database in Oracle. The licensing and maintenance cost is also very high as compared to other databases. Sometimes some administrative task the type of performer very complex and require more technical expertise. So it makes it more time taking and complex for simplifying that easy to do Jobs. **What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?** Database helps me to solve the challenges of managing and analysing large volume of data that I get from different teams such as admin, marketing and sales team and it helps me analyse the data very efficiently and securely. It provide a really reliable platform that helps me store and organise data that supports its reporting and analytics in a very efficient way. In my current role.
