**What do you like best about Oracle Database?**

What I like most about Oracle Database is its reliability. In our environment, we run business-critical applications, and Oracle has consistently delivered stable performance with very minimal downtime. Even as the database grows and user load increases, it continues to perform well without causing major performance issues. The database engine is highly optimized for enterprise workloads, making it a dependable platform for applications that require high availability and consistent response times.

From a usability perspective, Oracle provides a well-designed administrative experience through tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Developer. While there is a learning curve for new administrators, the interface becomes intuitive with experience and offers comprehensive monitoring, performance analysis, and management capabilities.

Security is another area where Oracle excels. Features such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), role-based access control, auditing, backup and recovery, and advanced security options help protect sensitive business data and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards. These capabilities give us confidence that our data remains secure and can be recovered quickly in the event of an issue.

Scalability is a major advantage. As business requirements expand, Oracle allows us to scale both vertically and horizontally without needing to migrate to a different platform. Enterprise features like Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) for high availability and Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery make it an excellent choice for organizations where uptime and business continuity are critical.

Oracle Database also integrates well with other Oracle products and a wide range of third-party enterprise applications. Whether connecting with ERP systems, analytics platforms, cloud services, or backup solutions, the integration capabilities make it easier to build and manage complex enterprise environments.

Performance tuning and monitoring are among Oracle's strongest areas. Built-in diagnostic tools, Automatic Workload Repository (AWR), Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM), and SQL performance analysis help identify bottlenecks quickly and optimize workloads efficiently. These capabilities reduce administrative effort and improve overall system performance.

It remains one of the best choices for organizations operating mission-critical workloads where availability, data protection, and long-term scalability are essential.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Database?**

One area where Oracle Database could improve is its licensing model. Licensing and support costs are quite high, especially for small and mid-sized organizations, and in many cases it’s difficult to justify the investment unless you’re running business-critical applications that truly require Oracle’s enterprise capabilities.

Another challenge is the steep learning curve. Installation, configuration, performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting generally require experienced DBAs, and for teams new to Oracle, day-to-day administration can feel more complex than with some other database platforms.

I also think Oracle could do a better job of simplifying its licensing policies and management tools. At times, the licensing rules across different editions and features are confusing, so organizations have to be extremely careful to stay compliant.

That said, these aren’t major drawbacks for large enterprises. When the environment is well designed and managed by experienced professionals, Oracle Database delivers excellent stability, security, and performance. The upfront complexity and cost are essentially the trade-offs for an enterprise-grade platform that remains highly reliable for mission-critical workloads.

**What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Oracle Database addresses one of our biggest challenges: managing large volumes of business-critical data securely and efficiently. We rely on it for applications where downtime isn’t an option, so stability and high availability are essential. It has helped us maintain consistent performance even as our data and transaction volumes continue to grow.

Data security is another major advantage. Oracle offers strong security capabilities such as encryption, access controls, auditing, and dependable backup and recovery options. These features help us protect sensitive business information and meet compliance requirements, and they give us confidence that our data stays secure and can be restored quickly if an unexpected issue occurs.

Operationally, Oracle Database has noticeably reduced performance problems and database-related outages. Features like Data Guard, RAC, and advanced performance monitoring support business continuity and help minimize downtime during maintenance as well as during unexpected failures.

Overall, Oracle Database provides a dependable platform for running mission-critical applications. Rather than worrying about database stability or potential data loss, our team can focus on delivering business solutions, knowing the database infrastructure is secure, scalable, and able to handle our growing workload.

Oracle is well known for handling massive volumes of data and supporting a high number of concurrent users. It scales smoothly from a single server to powerful clustered systems such as Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters). Its advanced optimization features and parallel processing help ensure that even very complex queries run efficiently, which is especially important in demanding business environments.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Database?**

Oracle Database is expensive compared to other databases. The Enterprise Edition license costs a lot, and even essential features like RAC, Data Guard, and partitioning often come as additional, pricey add-ons. On top of that, the pricing model is complex and confusing, which makes it hard to understand what you’ll ultimately pay and to predict future expenses.

**What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the risk of downtime, the risk of slow performance, the risk of data corruption, and the risk of security breaches.

**What do you like best about Oracle Database?**

I like Oracle Database for its seamless integration with third-party tools like Apache Airflow and Flyway. It's really secure, and we can save sensitive data like payment information and transaction details safely. The setup was quite easy and beginner-friendly with less of a learning curve, and even a developer can do it. I appreciate that managing the underlying infrastructure is handled by Oracle itself, which makes it easier for us when integrating with our app flow. Also, there's no latency or bugs when we're using it, making it a reliable choice.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Database?**

When we are fetching the data, especially in the production environment, we may feel the latency in the timestamp. So that can be avoided.

I find Oracle Database seamless and highly secure, with no latency or bugs. It securely stores sensitive client information and integrates well with tools like Apache Airflow for machine learning.

**What do you like best about Oracle Database?**

I appreciate that Oracle Database is a solid and reliable solution for managing large volumes of data in complex enterprise environments. I like its ability to consistently support critical processes and intensive workloads. I find that the performance is good in structured processing, and I appreciate the richness in features for security, optimization, and data management. Additionally, it works well in terms of scalability, performance, and security, especially when volumes grow or users and concurrent processes increase. Queries and critical processing are faster, and the management of sensitive data offers greater control by reducing unauthorized access. Moreover, it was very easy to initially configure Oracle Database.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Database?**

Environment less immediate compared to more streamlined solutions. Less complexity in the tools, more automation in repetitive tasks, and better observability tools.

Oracle Database manages large volumes of data in complex environments, improves query performance, and protects sensitive data. It offers scalability and reliability for critical processes with intensive workloads.

**What do you like best about Oracle Database?**

I like Oracle Database for its reliability, scalability, and strong security features. It handles large amounts of data and high transaction volumes with consistent performance, which makes it perfect for business-critical applications. I also appreciate features like backup and recovery, ensuring high availability, along with advanced data management tools that keep data secure and accessible. Real Application Clusters (RAC) are great for minimizing downtime as multiple servers can work together. Data Guard is invaluable for its reliable backup and failover capabilities. I also value Oracle's performance optimization tools, such as automatic indexing and tuning advisors, which help maintain fast query performance with less manual effort.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Database?**

Oracle could improve in a few areas - simplifying licensing and pricing to make costs more predictable. Reduce the complexity of installation and initial setup. Make database administration easier for less experienced users. Improve the user interface for management and monitoring tools.

**What do you like best about Oracle Database?**

Oracle is the pioneer and leader in the Relational Database management systems. When you say Database, Oracle is the first name that comes to the mind. It does a great job and checks all the boxes on the requirements list for a good RDBMS like the ACID properties, transaction management, virtual private directory and security policies. It integrates well with all different kinds of applications with easy UI setup to choose what individual products we want or a simpler standard installation. 
Depending on your tier of association (Gold, silver or platinum), you will have different SLAs for support - irrespective of tier, you get a standard on-boarding support. Its comparatively cheaper in the RDBMS landscape as they are the one of pioneers in this landscape. They do have few AI features but didnt get chance to test these.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Database?**

Nothing much to dislike about this as it meets all the basic requirements expected. Only complaint though would be that its a bit slow sometimes.

**What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For any product, data is life line and blood stream. So, we need a place to store this data and mostly for our products, the data is relational in nature. Hence, we needed a relational DBMS and Oracle is perfect as it meets all the requirements of the product.

**What do you like best about Oracle Database?**

I love how Oracle Database absorbs data on a frequent and regular basis with little issues. It's really helpful that it seamlessly and automatically transfers data from our HRIS, allowing for powerful diagnosis and analysis. It's also good at letting us know what causes any issues. Additionally, the initial setup was rather easy.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Database?**

A commonly complaint I've heard is the interface, I'm not entirely sure if it's because we have an outdated version, but it's not extremely user friendly. Also, when I have tried to reach support, it's not super clear where to go to get that support and the response rate is not the fastest.

**What problems is Oracle Database solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Oracle Database allows us to submit payment requests easily and approves POs for finance. It integrates smoothly with our HRIS, providing essential employee data and enabling detailed analysis without granting full access to other systems.

Although Oracle Database offers very comprehensive features, I consider its main disadvantage to be the complexity in administration and the associated cost. The learning curve is steep, which implies investing time and resources to master its configurations and optimizations. Likewise, licenses and additional services tend to be expensive, which limits its adoption in projects with tight budgets. In some cases, this complexity can create a dependency on highly specialized personnel, increasing operational costs.

Oracle Database solves critical problems related to the secure and efficient management of large volumes of information, ensuring integrity, availability, and performance in complex environments. Its ability to handle simultaneous transactions, optimize queries, and offer high scalability allows applications to run without interruptions, even under intensive loads. This benefits me by reducing operational risks, improving decision-making through reliable data, and optimizing technological resources, which translates into greater productivity and stability for the projects I manage.

I think that for those who are not familiar and do not have knowledge, it is a somewhat complex platform. The cost licensing and resource consumption are also important points.

I use Oracle Database to solve complex problems when information grows in large numbers and to analyze systems. It is practical, easy to use, and I enjoy manipulating SQL in it.

I use Oracle Database to store and manage data for my applications, as it helps keep the data oriented. I like that it's reliable when dealing with large datasets. The data stored is very secure and Oracle Database has strong features to analyze and manage data. It helps keep my data organized, reduces manual workload, and is easy to make changes. I also find that, with the right steps, the initial setup is easy.

Maybe sometimes for beginners it's not very easy to understand, it's expensive too, and performance tuning takes time.
